The bookkeeper walked back to the seat where Lady Melissa was, the stack of books he was carrying hiding his face from being seen.

He quickly softly dropped the stack of books that he was holding onto the table.

"Here are all the books about the theories of alchemy. Might wanna cover your hands when reading them? Some of the books are REALLY old."

The bookkeeper said enthusiastically.

"Thanks for the warning, and thank you for helping me find the books."

Lady Melissa said.

"No problem, Lady Melissa, it's my job."

The bookkeeper casually replied, smiling at her.

"Now then, would you perhaps like to read the books here? Or at the comfort of your own room?"

The bookkeeper questioned, his tone sounding interested, wearing a hopeful look on his face.

Lady Melissa paused for a second before saying something.

"I'll read the books here."

And in an instant, the old man's face lit up like a firework.

"That's good to hear, Lady Melissa; I'll sit at my desk, alright?"

"Sure."

Lady Melissa casually responded.

The bookkeeper slowly walked back into his desk before sitting down.

Many hours had passed, and Lady Melissa thought that it was time for her to retire into her bedroom.

Looking up from her book, she was surprised to see the bookkeeper still there, reading a book as well.

"Unfortunately, I have to go now, bookkeeper man."

Lady Melissa playfully said.

The bookkeeper glanced up from the book he was reading, sparing Lady Melissa a glance before replying.

"Ah, that is quite unfortunate. I hope I can see you soon."

The bookkeeper said, sounding lonely.

"No promises, but I'll try to come here when I have free time."

Lady Melissa responded.

"Goodnight and goodbye now."

"Goodnight, Lady Melissa; I hope you have a pleasant night."

The bookkeeper said, quickly bowing down before Lady Melissa had left the library.

'I should probably go sleep now.'

Lady Melissa thought, on her way heading to her room when she had suddenly let out a yawn.

Lady Melissa closed her eyes for a second or two before bumping into someone.

"I'm so sorry, Lady Melissa!"

The maid apologized, quickly running before Lady Melissa even had time to open her eyes.

'Huh, that voice sounds familiar.'

Lady Melissa thought before quickly brushing it off and heading back to her room.

'I wanna sleep.'

Lady Melissa thought, yawning once more and tears filling up her eyes.

Lady Melissa quickly brushed her teeth, checking the time, as she was curious until around what time she had spent reading books in the library.

She glanced at the clock, seeing it about to hit midnight.

"I read THAT long?"

Lady Melissa said, disbelief in her tone. It had been a long time since she would practically spend all day just...reading.

Lady Melissa finally finished all she needed to do before sleeping, things like brushing her teeth and drinking some water, she then gave the clock one last glance, curious to see the time, and it was 5 minutes past midnight.

'Yeah, I'm going to sleep now.'

Lady Melissa thought before deciding to stop procrastinating because she needed sleep and just close her lamp.

A minute passed, and then two, now three, and soon enough, it had reached 10 minutes. After much more waiting, it had reached hours, and the sun had risen already.

Lady Melissa could hear the Shayla estate starting to get a little noisy, attempting to cover her ears with the pillow to block out the noise from the maids or servants talking to each other.

After many failed attempts of trying to sleep, Lady Melissa finally succeeded.

Before she was awoken by ANOTHER nightmare AGAIN.

'The universe should let me catch a break.'

Lady Melissa thought she wasn't even scared of the nightmares at this point anymore; it didn't have the same effect it had given her the first few times.

Sure she'll admit, sometimes she would get shaken up during the nightmares, though, such as the nightmare with the brunette-haired woman who had shapeshifted into Sophia, generally though she wasn't as easily shaken up anymore.

The nightmare she had was about the man killing the woman, over and over again, with Lady Melissa not being able to move any inch of her body but just watching the incident over and over again.

It did scare her a little bit, but then Lady Melissa realized she was in a dream and that whoever made her dreams hate her, so she had nothing else to do except to suck it up, after all, it wasn't as if she could just complain about her dreams to strangers on the street.

Lady Melissa stood up from her bed, stretching her body and yawning.

She stopped by the mirror that was right in front of her, stopping to see how shitty she had looked today.

'Yeah, no, the eyebags….'

Lady Melissa thought, after all, her eyebags were no joke; they were dark and VERY visible.

'I should try and hide my eye bags; I don't want dad or mom worrying about me. They already have enough on their plate.'

Lady Melissa thought before taking the concealer in her dressing room and carefully applying it under her eyes.

After a minute or two of Lady Melissa applying the concealer on her face, her eyebags were no longer visible, and she looked less emo (sadly).

"Lady Melissa!"

Sophia shouted, knocking on her door.

"Yes, Sophia?"

Lady Melissa shouted back.

"Can I come into your room?"

Sophia casually asked when Lady Melissa had thought an emergency or something had occurred because of her shout.

"Sure...I guess."

Lady Melissa uncertainty said. Before she could say anything else, Sophia opened the door wide open.

"Good Morning Lady Melissa!"

Sophia cheerfully said to a very grumpy looking Lady Melissa.

"What do you want?"

Lady Melissa grumpily said she didn't even get to sleep, so she lashed out her anger to Sophia.

"What's got you all grumpy today, Lady Melissa?"

Sophia calmly asked.

"I couldn't sleep a wink."

Lady Melissa replied.

"Oh? I thought you could sleep nowadays, Lady Melissa."

Sophia said, her tone sounding curious.
