The Void Between Universes

"hey what's happening why can't she remember me" I asked the thing.

"boy you should be asking how can she remember you, I did tell you that she won't remember anything so remembering you name is the weird thing" the thing said.

It was then that I remembered that the thing did say that Emily won't remember me I totally forget about that as I saw Emily but hearing his words reminded me of that.

"hhh boy it's really interesting after searching for her for five years and going through all of that you find in the end that she can't remember you, you must be suffering right now right right, where is your faithfulness and love now they are shaking right" the thing sounded unusually happy.

I smiled and said to Emily:

"Yes I'm Alex and don't worry you will remember everything when all of this will end" as I said that I helped her get on top of the sword.

I used five swords to hold the children and the other forty-five to protect them.

For some reason the flood dragons were after Emily, so as soon as they saw the swords flying away they started raging, but I did my best to hold them.

"I'll take care of the one on the right" Rikka said that and started flying toward the flood dragon.

Having only one flood dragon to take care of wasn't a problem I controlled 25 swords to attack it from each side, using those 150 swords I didn't leave anyway for the flood dragon to run.

Seeing that it didn't have a way out and that it was surrounded the flood dragon opened its mouth and released a deafening shockwave that was even visible to the n.a.k.e.d eye.

The shockwaves hit the swords that were in front of it and sent them away but I was able to control them before they touched the ground so I didn't lose control of them.

The flood dragon didn't leave from the opening that was made in a straight line but as soon as its head get out of the encirclement it dove with its fastest speed.

And as soon as it did that another 25 swords appeared and replaced the ones that were thrown away.

The monsters intents were stronger than humans so fighting with a high leveled demonic beast was going to be bad.

But I wasn't going to give up just like that, each time the flood dragon changed its direction I would summon another 25 swords.

It didn't take long before I had reached the limit of 800 swords, it's obvious but after all of that the flood dragon get injured really badly, being in the middle of 749 gigantic swords wasn't something anyone can handle.

Rikka was holding herself well too as she fought the other flood dragon, even though it was in a higher level of cultivation then her.

The swords that I was controlling to take Emily and the kids to the shore of the lake made it by then, the only reason why it took that long was because of the kids that were on top of them wouldn't have been able to handle a faster speed.

"I'll be leaving right now" Rikka shouted.

She didn't leave before giving the flood dragon a serious injury, I was happy because taking care of those two injured flood dragons wasn't going to be hard.

But it was then that the thing's voice sounded in my head:

"*sigh* Sorry boy you met her too late you lost this round in the dawn planet it seems…" he sounded truly regretful and pained as he said that but I didn't care about that as I noticed something else.

It was the place where I put Emily and the other children, I heard a pained shout coming from there it sounded unhuman as if it's owner was suffering a fate worst then death, but no matter how mush unhuman that voice sounded and how different from the original it was I was still able to know it's owner it was…Emily's voice.

Turning my head I was able to see a column of dark fog it stretched from the place where Emily was till the sky and it was kind of familiar it gave me the same feeling that the thing used to give me the dark fog was the same as the one that made the body of the thing.

The dark fog was as if trying to enter Emily's body and it didn't seem to be as if it was trying to do it in a gentle way.

"activate the forbidden technique and kill those two flood dragons, she will die soon but at least spend these few moments with her" the thing said again this time the weirdness in his voice was even more apparent than before, but all what I heard was him saying that Emily was going to die.

"What do you mean die, DYING JUST LIKE THAT no reason nothing how can this be happening say how can this be happening you said that you wanted to play a game even games have rules and regulations you can't just kill her…" I shouted at the thing.

"hhh boy this has always been a part of the game you don't only need to find your girl you also need to do that fast because after five years from entering any new world she will experience an awakening if she can go through it she will get a great power and I won't even seal her memories in the world after that one so she will remember you and remember her family and because of her feeling for you all what you need to do is to meet her and the game will end, but if she won't be able to go through the awakening she will die and unfortunately she will die in a horrible pain, this is why I said that you need to find her fast enough it's because if you find her fast enough you can use anyway to make her body stronger which will help her in her awakening" the weird vibe in the thing's voice disappeared and he returned to his normal behavior.

I tried to move toward Emily but those two flood dragons had the same idea as me they seemed as if they had gone mad since the dark fog appeared as they started going berserker without even caring about themselves they did all what they could to get to Emily.

I was already mad and I wanted to get next to Emily as fast as possible hearing her screams that showed how much pain she was in made me even angrier and those two flood dragons were going berserker which pushed me to the limit as I held the broke sword and stabbed myself in the heart, even though the broken sword didn't have a tip it get through my heart easily as if I wasn't even there.

But I felt the pain not just in my heart but in my whole body if felt like my whole body was breaking piece by piece.

That was the forbidden technique that the thing talked about it a part of the fallen stars technique that can only be used one time in a planet as whenever I use it, it would mean my death in that world shortly after.

I only had less than five minutes before I die so I looked at the two flood dragons and as I did the sky above them darkened as millions of swords started falling at them the smallest of them was 20m long and 3m wide while the biggest was hundreds of meters long and tens of meters wide.

It only took a few seconds for the two half mortality cutting flood dragons to turn to nothing but pieces of meat.

That was the fallen stars forbidden technique, by sacrificing my life I can forget about the limits of the fallen stars technique I could summon an unlimited number of swords as big as I want it lasts till the point where I die.

After killing the two flood dragons I moved on top of my sword toward Emily, both of us didn't have much time left and all what I wanted to do was to be next to her.

As I made it next to her I found that she was there with some dark fog around her while it wasn't trying to enter her body anymore it was just hovering above her.

Rikka was hugging her, Emily's body was limp she seemed as if she couldn't even move a single finger, Rikka's eyes were red she seemed to know that Emily wasn't going to survive.

I knelt next to her and removed the broken sword from my c.h.e.s.t as it was in the way.

I moved my hand asking from Rikka to give her body to me.

She hesitated a bit and then she gave her to me.

"Emily I'…I'm sorry I thought th…that I had the ability to win if on…only I found you earlier it wouldn't have ended like this…bu…but don't worry I will save you in the next world it won't end like this I won't sto…stop before I save you" my voice wasn't that loud but Emily was between my hands I wanted to believe that she was hearing me so I said that with my remaining power as my tears fall down.

Change of P.O.V Emily:

I was in a dark place after feeling all that pain, that pain was unbearable but as I felt my strength leave me and I knew that I was going to die it get less and less as if that dark fog that came out of nowhere and started entering my body knew that I wasn't able to handle it and it gave hope on me deciding to leave me die in peace.

I don't know how long I stayed in that dark place but I didn't feel scared at all, no I felt as if I was at home actually as if even in that darkness someone that cares about me was there looking at me, after me…

After spending a little while in that dark place I suddenly started having those weird flashbacks no they were memories my memories that I forget for five years in the dawn planet.

They were the memories that I had in earth.

As soon as those memories returned to me I felt as if my body got warmer as if my body was being hugged by someone, it was then that I returned to my senses and my body on the dawn planet.

"Emily I'…I'm sorry I thought th…that I had the ability to win if on…only I found you earlier it wouldn't have ended like this…bu…but don't worry I will save you in the next world it won't end like this I won't sto…stop before I save you" I heard this as soon as I returned to my senses and I knew the owner of the voice instantly it was Alex.

And here I'm now dying between his hands while his tears are falling on my face.

I'm doing my best trying to move my hand trying to give him a single that I can hear him that I remembered him that I love him but to no avail as my consciousness is fading right now so I'm dying here while keeping all of those things in my heart…
