The Witch Bone

Chapter 16 - The Witch Bone

"You left this world thousands of years ago to roam and have not returned until now. You will not remember this because you insisted to live and experience the life of a mortal and had drunk a potion to forget who you were."

"Your identity is a complicated one. Each heir born to the royal family of the Soaring Dragon is your vessel. It's your choice to either live here or live in another world. But you had never used a vessel but let them live out their lives here as the Lord of Soaring Dragon. While you had used this chance to live many mortal lives."

He was uncertain about this and asked honestly, "Why are you so certain about this? When I am filled with uncertainties. When I am as lost as a lonely lotus in a field of weeds."

Imsong could not help but laugh at this. He was incorrigible.

Then she said, "Because of this," and touched his forehead and then waved her hand. A watery mirror appeared in front of him.

"Because of this." She repeated.

The same golden light which enveloped him earlier appeared again. He was glowing gold. His hair started to shimmer and his eyes slowly turned turquoise. He could feel his spiritual powers trembling all over again. He knew this feeling. He had liked it before as well. And this time the transformation did not disappear wholly. His hair was still shimmering. His eyes were turquoise and his body had a tint of gold. He was a perfection. He was a godly figure.

He had stood up unwittingly as he was looking in the mirror. He did not believe his own eyes. Earlier he just thought that it was part of his initiation and did not pay heed to any of it.

"Hahahahahah... you still can't believe it?? Look at yourself. That is you. That is your true form."

"For centuries we had been holding the initiation ritual just to see if you were going to reawaken. And this time we succeeded."

She waved her hand again and the mirror disappeared.

"So tell me, old friend, do you believe me now?"

He took his seat dumbfoundedly and suddenly he remembered another burning question.

"Do you know of this artifact then?" He produced the anklet from his leg and showed it to her. It had turned back into the normal looking bone.

"Ah, the Witch Bone. I did not recognize this earlier. No wonder you beat Wana without your spiritual powers. Obviously, you cheated."

She took the bone in her hand and hold it in her palm. There was a sudden glow and the bone slowly lost its initial appearance and turned into a shard of pure white jade.

She handed it over to him and smirked as she said, "This is also its true form. The artifact that only belongs to you. And can be only wielded by you to bring its full power. The Witch Bone."

As he took the shard in his hand it suddenly crawled when it touched his skin. It crawled up to his wrist and turned into a white jade dragon. It had become a coiling dragon wristband.

She was looking at his reaction this whole time.

"The name of the kingdom derives from this Witch Bone. The Witch Bone would turn itself into a dragon sword when you fought. And thus the kingdom of Soaring Dragon was given its name."

"The Witch Bone led you here. It brought you back to your kingdom."
