A Divine Phoenix!?

Cyrus was extremely shocked that made his mouth gaped wide open almost hitting the ground.

There were only a few records that Phoenix had existed during the era of creation and people had only seen it once in the capital of the continent, which means that the last appearance of a phoenix for over trillions of years had passed since humans and demi-humans have seen this divine beast, and yet because of Cyrus with his stroke of luck, there it is.

A Phoenix in front of his eyes!

At first, what shocked Cyrus was that the history of this continent, which is in scientific explanation, that it is impossible for a planet to live for over trillions of years! Even the system of this star, which is unknown to Cyrus, should have long burnt out and the stars on the night skies should not have existed anymore because the universe is expanding further and further away.

Yet, look. This world of magic is still alive and kicking well, it is meant that the history of this planet is too rich and ancient compared back in the solar system and the earth.

He had also learned that this world is a barbaric place, because of cultivation and mahika, the technological advance had lacked and wasted for many years or so! Because if this world were similar to earth, which is an information explosion and technological era, then this place would be way too futuristic and the quality of life here should be all comfortable.

Not only that, the way they use mahika and cultivation should be more efficient and simple yet powerful unlike now, which is blunt and dangerous to even use!

There are many ideas had entered Cyrus' thoughts when he thought of this, he had also wanted to learn about the astronomy of this world or the universe and study the world itself.

After knowing that the prey was a divine Phoenix, Cyrus could not bear to see a divine beast being eaten by a normal pack of wolves; he knew that for a divine being like a God or like this special bird, it is very disgraceful to be only eaten by normal and lowly kind of beasts!

Cyrus slowly walked towards the pack of wolves, and he had noticed that these wolves are not much different from the wolves on earth but they are slightly larger compared to the latter.

It is also much more ferocious and wild looking making it more threatening to look at.

However, this type of normal beast is nothing compared to a demi-human, which is a human cultivator. Even a late stage of elementary rank could bash and slam this kind of beast single handily.

Not long after, when one of the wolves move its position, it suddenly sensed Cyrus approaching making it alert quickly as it grows and barks at Cyrus.

Cyrus was indifferently looking at this pack of wolves that maliciously looking at him as if they will eat Cyrus alive.

As Cyrus drew closer towards them for over a few feet away from them, one of the wolves sprinted as it jumped towards Cyrus head-on; it opened its sharp jaws and its nine-inch canine tooth trying to maw Cyrus into pieces.

However, without even activating his cultivation mode or anything, he just casually flicks his hands towards the head of the wolf as he slapped it. With a single slap, the head of the wolf exploded before its body flew off as it rolls into the ground like a dead bush.

This scene had startled the wolves and it made them even more mad and angry, three of the wolves jumped straight towards Cyrus. While Cyrus, who is still calm he casually sweeps the ground and took tiny pebbles.

As the wolves circled Cyrus around as they growled at him soon enough one by one they leaped towards him at the same time, however, without even touching them, Cyrus blasted them away with a huge force that scattered them few miles away from him, some wolves were even got slammed not only in one tree but almost three!

Soon, in this pack of wolves blood started to bleed out all over the place and this 'blasted' was actually Cyrus' finger easily penetrating their necks.

However, a single wolf noticed this attack and easily avoided Cyrus. Moreover, seeing it with his own eyes, Cyrus felt he strange about it since a normal beast should not see or felt his attacks no matter what.

The wolf that avoided his attack had finally landed away from Cyrus, and soon after, it gave a loud shriek.

"Eiiek!" (Dunno how to write dogs shrieking.)

Its grey fur suddenly turned scarlet and soon, the heat started to radiate around the area. Soon, the place was ignited in flames that were so hot that Cyrus felt that it was dangerous. This shocked him deeply because he had never thought that eating the meat of the Phoenix would give the wolf an elemental power!

This flame was so enough that the surrounding of the wolf spreads the fire, soon after the back of the wolf were suddenly ignited with a bright scarlet flame as if it turned into firewolf... Well, it is a fiery wolf, so firewolf.

Noting the changes on its body, the wolf gave a howl of happiness as it started to look at Cyrus as if he was looking a good test subject.

The firewolf's aura was dreadful despite it has an elementary rank aura radiating on it.

Seeing the look on him and sensing the dangerous aura, Cyrus quickly activated his Cultivating mode, as his Iris turned yellow.

The fire on the wolf was very powerful, in fact, it can be described that it has slightly overpowered Cyrus's fire.

So this is the flames of Phoenix... Cyrus thought to himself as he prepared himself as he felt that the phoenix flames give a dangerous vibe coming from it.

Soon enough, the firewolf opened its mouth wide open and a fireball containing a Phoenix flame started to appear inside of its mouth.

When the fireball quickly has the size of a basketball, the firewolf swallowed it completely and once it was about to explode on its mouth, the firewolf opened its mouth and the force of explosion came out as it forced towards Cyrus with extremely fast speed.

The flames were all scattered in the forest, and trees have started to burn up and slowly spreading.

Cyrus had avoided the attack and once he had noticed the flames spreading around the area, he was shocked.

Oh no! I have to finish this fast and absorb this fire before it spread even further! Cyrus thought to himself as he quickly leaped forward towards the firewolf. Noticing his actions, the wolf seemed to snort and when Cyrus was only half meters from it. The firewolf suddenly howled and when that happened, its body turned like a burning torch!

As Cyrus felt the burning sensation on his body, he quickly turned his fire mode to avoid further burning feeling on his skin as he quickly leaped backward, because despite he was immune to almost any fire in this mode, he still could feel an itchy feeling towards the flames of Phoenix.

Seeing the firewolf burned wildly like a bonfire, Cyrus was quite impressed. "Hoo~ this one is most likely at rank two or three when burning this wild… If I used lightning, it might be overkill if I did that and the lightning spirit in my body would be gone mad if I used it to a mere wolf that had activated a Phoenix fire on its body… Now now." Cyrus mused to himself as he thought to himself, Now, what should I do with this mutt?

This is actually the first time he would be fighting a demi-beast.

The firewolf stopped howling and the wild flames had decreased as well. With that, the wolf looked at Cyrus and leaped towards him.

As it was leaping towards him in big strides in anger, Cyrus, on the other hand, was calm. He was calm from the beginning and he was thinking how to deal with this problem since the forest is already burning. He could not use his close-range fight because he was quite unsure how powerful those flames were.

Suddenly.

An idea struck his mind as he smiled; he looked at the ground finding a pebble, as he saw one he quickly took it. He put it between his fingers as he aims it towards the incoming firewolf. Without even thinking that his elemental mode is still going, he flicked the pebble on his finger as he pushes out all his strength at once. As the pebble flew out of his fingers, it quickly created a sonic boom breaking the sound barrier and quickly struck the firewolf on its mouth, the wolf could not react fast as its big body suddenly flipped back on the air while its head was torn apart because of the unstoppable force coming from Cyrus. The pebble did not stop there as it travels up to the mountains.

"… Oh shit."
