“What? I beg your pardon?”

“You can’t believe it either right? I did too. I went and stood in line, but then, I saw Lord Cedric over the counter dressed as a familiar werewolf.”

“I thought he wouldn’t participate in the festival booth, but I was surprised. I thought Sir Cedric wouldn’t do that.”

We arrived at the booth in the red tent.

Unlike the other booths, somehow there were few customers and it looked empty.

I knew why as soon as I entered.

‘Cedric, it’s too scary to make such a face! He already looks ferocious like a beast because of his werewolf costume!’

It was because Cedric was standing in the booth with a gruff and fierce expression and no motivation whatsoever.

His face seemed to have shown the words, ‘I want to play too’.

Cedric, who just stood there blankly and made the ice cream as if his soul had been drained, hadn’t even seen the two of us yet.

When Jake and I finally stood in front of the counter, Cedric just blurted out a word with his eyes fixed on one side of the menu.

“Which one do you want?”

“…… Hey, werewolf Senior Cedric? it’s me, Emir.”

I tapped Cedric’s wolf-claw-shaped glove that he had taken off on the counter to remind him to come to his senses.

“What, what? Emir? …… Why are you here?”

Then, Cedric’s eyes, which had been dazed without focus, suddenly came to life.

He flinched as if he was taken aback by my sudden appearance.

“Yes, I came to eat ice cream. I heard rumors that Sir Cedric is working here.”

I answered calmly, and Cedric looked at me blankly, then turned his head and cleared his throat several times.

“Hmm, hmm. Yes, as you said. Somehow I ended up taking over the work. Well? I can’t go anywhere until I sell all of this.”

As soon as he saw my familiar face, he confessed his circumstances as if complaining. It was only belatedly that he realized that I had visited as a guest and asked a question.

“…… Well, so what kind of ice cream do you want to eat?”

“Um, wait! Jake, what would you like to eat? Will it be vanilla?”

“That’s right.”

I looked at the menu carefully with Jake and chose an ice cream.

Jake, as always, chose the vanilla flavor, and I chose the banana chocolate flavor.

Hearing the menu we chose, Cedric nodded.

“How come your taste doesn’t change every time.”

“Hmm, if it changes too easily, wouldn’t it be difficult to say that it’s a preference anymore?”

“Well, what you said is true. Anyway, wait a minute. I’ll do it quickly.”

Cedric quickly scooped out the ice cream, as if all the slow pace so far had been a lie.

It was such a change in behavior that I could feel some of the customers waiting behind me tilting their heads.

Cedric handed me and Jake a cone of ice cream.

“Here, take it.”

“…… ?”

But somehow it was strange.

Even to me who didn’t know anything, there was a big difference in the amount of ice cream between Jake and mine.

Jake’s is the size of a fist, just right, but my ice cream is the size of a huge pear.

“Hey, Cedric? Look at this.”

“Well, what’s wrong? Any problem?”

Cedric acted shamelessly again.

I answered in a puzzled voice.

“I think I have too much ice cream.”

“No, not at all. There was a lot of banana chocolate left over, so I just gave you a little more.”

“Still…….”

“Well, I think it’s my heart.”

Cedric joked back.

I opened my mouth and asked again.

“What?”

At that moment, my ice cream eventually lost its balance and fell to the ground.

Cedric and Jake, as well as I, all looked at the scene with bewildered expressions.

After a moment of silence, I answered cautiously.

“Thank, thank you, of course……. Cedric’s heart seems to have just fallen to the ground. Even if it’s too big, I guess it’s a problem.”

“…… Damn, I can’t help it. I’ll do it again.”

I stopped Cedric from scooping out the ice cream again.

“No, it’s fine.”

“What? I have to give it back? You don’t want it?”

“Rather than that, I’d like to help you a little, would that be okay?”

Cedric frowned at my suggestion and asked.

“Why are you helping?”

“Yes, of course it is Sir Cedric’s job. Together we can finish it sooner.”

“Come on, let’s finish it and go play together.”

I smiled and held out my hand to Cedric.

Cedric seemed to be taken aback, then grabbed my hand.

Then Jake intervened.

“Mir, I’ll help too. Then it will be over sooner.”

“Good. Come on, let’s sell all this ice cream.”

With Jake joining us, there were three of us before we knew it.

Cedric looked at the two of us with somewhat moved eyes.

I nodded.

Cedric suddenly blushed as if he was embarrassed and muttered a small mutter.

As soon as I spoke, I looked around the tent.

The inside of the counter was so cramped that it was impossible for three people to work together.

And even though there are only a few customers in the first place, even if the three of us work together, we can’t sell ice cream quickly.

With the support of Jake and Cedric, I stepped out of the tent.

Before I knew it, the crowds at the festival booth were growing even more.

It must have been because it was time for the ball to end.

Among the crowd of people, I shouted with all my might.

“Ice cream?”

Hearing my shout, people passing by began to turn around one by one.
