Chapter 1: My Sword is My Wife

Jiang Su had been in a closed retreat for half a year. The day he exited, he left Snowfall Cliff and immediately saw a few people who had been waiting for him.

In front was his senior brother, the sect leader Zhang Wenxue, who had taken care of him since he was little. With a gentle gaze, he raised his hand to fix Jiang Su’s long and messy hair and said warmly, “Younger martial brother, it’s been hard this past half a year.”

Jiang Su replied, “No, it wasn’t hard.”

Zhang Wenxue patiently brushed off the slight dust on his shoulders. When he noticed his slightly messy clothes, he couldn’t help but add, “If you keep ignoring your appearance like this, how will there ever be any woman who–”

He paused, suddenly somewhat depressed.

“Younger martial brother,” Zhang Wenxue lowered his head and helped him fix his clothes, his eyelashes quivering slightly. “If……If you have a family—”

Deadpan, Jiang Su said, “It won’t happen.”

Zhang Wenxue flinched slightly. Delighted, he looked up expectantly.

Jiang Su: “They would only affect the speed of my sword.”

Zhang Wenxue: “……”

The sect disciples:  “……”

When Jiang Su’s seventeen year old martial nephew saw his master suffer, for some reason he couldn’t help but feel somewhat happy. If martial uncle didn’t like his master, then there was a chance for him.

Qi Du hurriedly approached and batted his eyes innocently. “Has martial uncle’s martial arts improved?”

Jiang Su said indifferently, “Yes.”

“Would martial uncle please spar with me!” Feeling like he had perfectly grasped martial uncle’s preferences, Qi Du hurriedly added. “I’ve been practicing diligently this past half a year, and I’ve also improved!”

Jiang Su really did stop walking. He looked towards him then nodded slightly, indicating for him to unsheathe his sword.

Qi Du happily unsheathed his sword.

Qi Du happily raised his sword and charged towards him.

Qi Du had already imagined in his heart how their swords would entangle and their warm exchange of affections and swordsmanship.

The two swords met. Then, Qi Du watched blankly as his sword was struck flying by Jiang Su in one move. It flew in a perfect parabola in the sky, soared past the tree branches, knocked down the gathered snow on the crowns of the trees, then dropped down Snowfall Cliff, startling alight countless birds.

Qi Du:  “……”

Jiang Su: “How boring.”

Qi Du:  “……”

Jiang Su: “You’re too weak.”

Qi Du:  “……”

Jiang Su: “So embarassing.”

Qi Du:  “……”

Qi Du started to cry.

Silence fell. Zhang Wenxue quietly complained. “Younger martial brother,” he said. “You should have gone easy on him.”

Jiang Su pretended not to hear.

Qi Du cried even more tragically.

It’s been ten years since Jiang Su transmigrated.

Ten years ago, he had inexplicably transmigrated into an explicit BL harem novel, becoming the ten year old main character, Jiang Su.

In the novel, Jiang Su was jianghu’s number one beauty and was the Still Water Sect’s little martial uncle with countless admirers all across jianghu. But it was a shame that he had only liked elegance and didn’t like practicing martial arts, so when he had barely come of age, he was forced to drink an aphrodisiac poison by the leader of the demonic cult, thus falling from grace and into the abyss.

But the transmigrated Jiang Su was different.

He was a solidly straight man with no experience nor interest in matters of love.

He only wanted to practice martial arts.

He’d always loved martial arts stories since he was little, and he’d always admired tales of jianghu warriors. Now that he was luckily given the chance to enter a world with real martial arts, of course he would treasure this opportunity.

What romance? What’s wrong with practicing martial arts?

Love or whatever really does hinder my heroic adventures in jianghu.

Now, he’d already become jianghu’s number one swordsman, and it had already been ten years. He was about to come of age, and the original storyline was about to begin. But before he started to head out to where the original story started, the martial alliance, he still needed to do one more thing.

He needed to go down Snowfall Cliff and retrieve Qi Du’s sword.

Honestly, Jiang Su really didn’t care whether or not Qi Du cried.

But what had fallen was a sword.

A swordsman’s wife. A swordsman’s life.

Now he’d lost his martial nephew’s wife. Just thinking about it made him uncomfortable.

The Snowfall Cliff was extremely steep, as if the mountain had been slashed apart by a sword. There were no walking paths and you could only use light movement techniques to go up and down, and even then it would be hard for anyone with slightly weaker light movement skills. To make things worse, the snow on the cliff had not melted yet, making it even more difficult to travel. In the entire Still Water Sect, only Jiang Su would be able to go down successfully in winter.

At night, he secretly went down Snowfall Cliff and successfully retrieved the sword. He was about to return back up the cliff when he suddenly noticed  something was wrong.

Originally, there should have not been any sign of humans at the bottom of the cliff.

But now, there were broken branches scattered not far away, and a large patch of shrubbery next to the the wintry lake was pressed down. Frowning, he approached and noticed that on the snow there were messy footprints and faint traces of blood.

Someone was nearby.

He held the sword and approached carefully.

He had only moved forward a few steps before there was rustling, and then the sound of something alighting into the air. The cold blade of a sword was already in front of him.

Jiang Su’s reacted quickly and returned the strike. When their weapons clashed, he already had an idea of the situation—

The hidden one was a swordsman.

And an expert that can rival him, at that.

He couldn’t help but feel excited. He wanted to immediately exchange a few rounds with him. He focused all his attention on the stranger’s swordsmanship. And as for whether they were male or female, fat or skinny….he completely didn’t care.

He never even bothered to look at their appearance. After several exchanges, he noticed that their sword movements were becoming somewhat weak.

It was only then that he remembered the traces of blood he saw earlier. This person must have been severely injured.

But it was already too late.

Since he thought he met a good rival, every one of his strikes was merciless, forcing the other person to use all their willpower to resist. At the last move, Jiang Su struck their sword flying, and they spat out a mouthful of blood, collapsing into the snow.

Jiang Su looked up at the flying sword.

The sword cut a familiar parabola trajectory in the air, then plopped into the middle of the wintry lake. With a gurgle, it fell all the way to the bottom.

Jiang Su:  “……”

This scene is so familiar.

He already saw it twice today.

But this time…It was a bit troublesome.

He didn’t know how to swim.

Jiang Su finally looked away. He gazed towards the person collapsed on the ground.

It was a young man in his early twenties. Clad in black clothes, he was severely injured, and the corner of his mouth and collar had traces of blood. There was a horrible gash on his right shoulder, but it didn’t look like a wound done by any weapon. Jiang Su just now noticed that they had been using the sword with their left hand.

At this moment, the stranger mustered up his energy to look at him warily. The two of them asked at the same time, “Who are you?”

Jiang Su paused, then coughed. After all, he did lose the other person’s sword, so he was a bit guilty. He hurriedly answered first. “I am Jiang Su of the Still Water Sect. May I ask who this warrior is……”

He was jianghu’s number one swordsman, as well as the “number one beauty” in countless people’s hearts. His name was extremely famous in jianghu; as long he mentions his name, he thought that there shouldn’t be anyone who doesn’t recognize him.

But the young man just furrowed his brows and muttered, “Still Water Sect” as if he didn’t recognize him. He replied coldly, “Mu Yichuan.”

Jiang Su had never of that name.

He noticed that the young man looked on guard and thought that he must still be wary, but Jiang Su didn’t care. This person had been severely injured and forced to use a hand they weren’t familiar with, yet he had been able to rival him for a few strikes. If he recovered, he was sure that this person’s swordsmanship would not be worse than his.

He had finally met someone who could rival him in swordsmanship. He couldn’t express how excited he was. He examined their wounds and found an excuse, “You’re injured. I won unfairly.”

Mu Yichuan looked at him silently.

“How about I take you back,” Jiang Su said. “Once you are recovered, we can spar again.”

Mu Yichuan started, then asked. “Aren’t you afraid I could be a bad person?”

Jiang Su laughed, “What is there to be afraid about.”

This person was injured so severely that it’ll take a few months before he would recovery. Before he recovered, Jiang Su was 100% sure that he could handle him. Yep, in jianghu, so long as your martial arts were high you could do whatever you want.

He strapped his martial nephew’s sword to his waist, then looked up to check the height of Snowfall Cliff. Estimating Mu Yichuan’s weight, he thinks that if he has to climb up with two swords and a full grown man, it is indeed a bit difficult.

Mu Yichuan was still confused. Furrowing his brows, he asked, “How are you planning on going up?”

Jiang Su replied thoughtlessly, “Left foot forward, right foot forward.”

Mu Yichuan: “?”

Jiang Su coughed. “Climbing slowly.”

He crouched down and indicated for Mu Yichuan to climb up onto his back. However, Mu Yichuan seemed to be a bit hesitant. Pressing onto his shoulder injury, he asked with difficulty, “Why do you want to save me.”

Jiang Su replied carelessly without looking back. “It’s not like I could just ignore someone in trouble right?”

Mu Yichuan muttered. “That’s right, you’re a part of the righteous faction.”

As if he had just now regained his senses, he silently went forward, but he wasn’t really willing to let Jiang Su carry him.

He’d lost too much blood and his steps were unsteady, relying completely on Jiang Su’s support so that he could stand. And this cliff was so precipitous that even if he were not injured, it would have still been really tiring to climb up to the top.

Yet Jiang Su supported him, then leaped from a mountain rock that could barely stay upright. Mu Yichuan couldn’t help but say, “My injuries are not so bad. If you really cannot go up, just leave me.”

Jiang Su held onto a vine. The gusts below the cliff were too big, so he didn’t hear clearly what he had said. He said sincerely, “Don’t worry, you’re not too heavy.”

Mu Yichuan: “……”

Jiang Su even continued earnestly. “The two wives of the Condensed Mountain Sect’s sect leader weighs over 200 pounds. You’re not heavy at all.”

Then, dragging Mu Yichuan, he leaped up a bit further, landing on the branch of crooked tree protruding precariously from the cliff wall. “Don’t worry, if I really can’t make it up, I’ll first throw away the sword.”

When Mu Yichuan was a bit touched, Jiang Su took a deep breath and said, “Although swords are important, after all they’re not alive. How could it compare to a life.”

Mu Yichuan: “……”

Jiang Su added, “Not to mention, swords can’t run away. I can first take you up then come back to retrieve it.”

Mu Yichuan couldn’t help be moved.

He rarely ever interacted with members of the righteous faction, and he’d only heard those around him saying how the righteous factrion were all hypocrites. He had never thought that they would do so much for a complete stranger.

He thought, Maybe in the righteous faction, there are still some good people—

Jiang Su suddenly said, “And after all that’s Qi Du’s sword.”

Mu Yichuan flinched. “What?”

The wind was too strong, so Jiang Su didn’t hear.

“Yes, the sword is the swordman’s wife, the swordman’s life,” Jiang Su muttered. “But this sword is my martial nephew’s.”

Mu Yichuan: “……”

“Other people’s wife,” Jiang Su said unashamedly. “Whether its lost a few more times has nothing to do with me.”

Translator Note: Yep, Mu Yichuan is Li Hansan’s fake name. He’s the ML. :)
