Chapter 42: Fate Plays Tricks on People

Jin Yang was stunned by the scene before him, and he wasn’t sure if he should stay or not.

He awkwardly cleared his throat and found it hard to move his feet.

Zhou Mushi looked nervously at Jin Yang standing at the door, and quickly explained, “He’s drunk, help me pull him away.”

Jin Yang nodded slowly and the obedient person walked over. The person who was going crazy with alcohol was shouting incoherently, “Xiaoshi, Xiaoshi, how could you abandon me? How could you not want me?”

This statement had some ambiguity, even Zhou Mushi felt like a scumbag after hearing it himself. He frowned and struggled out of Zhou Hang’s embrace, but immediately someone grabbed his bare ankle and pulled him down, pressing him tightly.

“Are you going to abandon me and run away with someone else?”

Zhou Mushi was a bit speechless. He patted Zhou Hang’s back to calm him down and said, “Hey, big brother, come on, sober up!”

Zhou Hang pretended not to hear and just hugged Zhou Mushi, crying miserably.

At first, Jin Yang came to pull him away, but when he saw Zhou Hang’s face clearly, he couldn’t muster up the strength. He had seen this person before, five years ago, under his own building.

He was the “friend” who had escorted Mushi home…

He was fortunate that he had actually considered him a friend of Zhou Mushi. Now it seems that even without Jin Yang all these years, Zhou Mushi has still been living well, with people to accompany and love him.

Zhou Mushi felt that the situation was chaotic enough, but Jin Yang seemed to have no intention of helping. What was he thinking?

If someone really had loyalty towards him in such a situation, he could understand if they picked up Zhou Hang and beat him up. But he couldn’t just stand by like a bystander and let Zhou Hang collapse on the person he cared about without any concern.

His face turned cold and he said to Jin Yang, “I don’t think he’s going to wake up for a while. You should go to bed first.”

Jin Yang smiled wryly in his heart. As expected, he was seen as a hindrance and was being asked to leave. He shouldn’t have come here in the first place…

“Okay,” he turned around and walked to the entrance, turned off the lights, and closed the door behind him.

Zhou Hang, the drunkard, was also good at seizing the opportunity. As soon as Jin Yang left, he immediately relaxed and fell asleep.

Zhou Mushi pushed him aside with great force, but he didn’t wake up. Feeling angry, he punched him twice but he still didn’t wake up, sleeping soundly.

The night became completely quiet. The sound insulation effect of this hotel was very good, and no sound could be heard in the room.

Zhou Mushi stared blankly at the faint light coming in from the window, not even wanting to blink his eyes.

Looking at how ridiculous he is, still expecting something from Jin Yang.

People always say that you learn from your mistakes, but looking at himself now, he seems to have grown older but not wiser, falling into the same pit twice.

The faint light shining on his face makes him look a bit pale, but this person seems to be naturally suited to sadness. The more he is upset, the more charming he appears, while he is not particularly noticeable when he is happy.

Jin Yang dragged his heavy footsteps back to his room. He was mentally tense and obviously found it difficult to fall asleep tonight.

He looked at the time, set his alarm clock for tomorrow morning, and then got up to take out a box of sleeping pills from his luggage. He poured out a white pill from it and swallowed it with the remaining half bottle of cold mineral water he had left over from the day. He then washed up, undressed, and lay down on the bed.
