The actions of the commanders of the two sides were in amusing contrast.

O'Brien returned to the center of the troops and from there began issuing instructions to the entire force.

Isaac, straddling his huge warhorse, personally stands at the forefront of the army and leads the whole force.

Coldness, passion, wariness, and the will to kill. Many emotions were intricately mixed together, and --- the war began.

The formation of the Kingdom of Meltor was a lateral formation using a vast plain. Unlike the vertical formation, it is an offensive formation in which many soldiers can engage in battle at once.

The army was wide and thick, and the number of soldiers, numbering about eight thousand, was pressing in on them. Moreover, perhaps because the cavalry led by Isaac was running at the front of the army, the overall command was unusually high.

Facing the approaching army, I suddenly recalled the large-scale forest fires I had seen in the United States when I was on Earth. The images I saw on the Internet at that time showed smoke rising in an unbelievable size, but...

The plumes of dust and smoke being created by the Royal Army of Meltor were much larger and more intense than I remembered.

As the Royal Army of Meltor approached, the oppressive feeling of suffocation increased. The soldiers in the front row, who had been raising their swords in high spirits earlier, lost their vigor.

 And then,

"Hah!!!!"

 A clash.

The Royal Army of Arcadia and the Royal Army of Mertor, who had also chosen to form a flanking line, finally clashed.

The metallic sound of swords clashing, angry shouts, and a final scream.

A roar echoed across the plain, tearing at the eardrums and striking directly into their depths.

We, who were watching the scene from behind, were speechless.

I have seen many battles in my life, but this, this is the only one I have never experienced.

The sight of so many lives being consumed in one or two seconds, at a tremendous pace, must be hell itself.

And in the midst of such hell, there was one man who stood out from the crowd.

What's wrong, ? I'm here! There is the leader's head right here!"

A surge of blood erupts in the center of the battlefield.

Every time Isaac looked up and swung his huge sword, Arcadia's soldiers were torn to shreds or shattered, leaving holes in the battle line as easily as the number of people killed.

Isaac takes one more step to cut through the hole.

Impossible. In this crowded battle with this group, it would have been difficult to distinguish friend from foe.

And yet, who would be stupid enough to rush into the midst of the enemy?

Right there, he is.

If he were a man of average ability, he would end up being crushed by the sheer force of numbers. Stepping in to cut a hole, it is tantamount to jumping into a siege.

Isaac, however, was no ordinary man.

He is an opponent that I, who know Schneizel, fear from the bottom of heart.

"Ha ha ha! It's hot, it'm! You want to stop me?"

No one can stop Isaac. He steps toward us in a dense formation, responding as if he were going through an uninhabited field.

And riding on the current created by Isaac, the others are gaining momentum.

"Hmmm. Arcadia is this big? What a bunch of fools."

A tall man, who was probably Isaac's second-in-command, broke the front line on the right wing...

"Hmph. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill!"

A unit led by a man wearing a black mask gutted the left flank of the front line.

This is the result of Isaacs doing whatever he wanted.

This is not good, this is not good. I know this because I've seen Schneizel, but tactics don't work with Isaacs.

An unreasonable "individual" can easily obliterate an army, a group of weak people.

But if we don't break this flow, we will be immediately brought to a standstill. If we continue like this, we will lose.

"It's not time to panic yet."

O'Brien's voice echoes coldly throughout. He was sending instructions to his subordinates with signs in both hands.

Through the signs, the instructions were passed on to other subordinates, who in turn passed them on to other subordinates, as if it were a word game.

When the orders reached the end of the unit immediately, the formation suddenly began to change.

The formation, which had been a flanking formation facing the Royal Army of Meltor, split to the left and right with unbelievable speed and precision.

"What? O'Brien, you have taken it upon yourself to cut a path to your death. Is it a trap? No, whatever it is, I don't care."

Isaac, who was left in the middle, unmanned, between the left and right sides of the split, seemed to open his eyes to see a straight line leading from there to O'Brien.

A brief pause. But the hesitation seemed to be fleeting, and he resumed his march shortly after.

'Wow, he's good.'

I couldn't help but let out those words as I watched the current battlefield.

The forces split to the left and right are holding back the forces led by Isaac's second-in-command and the black mask, respectively, and they are even perfectly able to stall the other units.

They are Isaac's followers. Losing them all at once, Isaac would be isolated on a wide front.

Thus, with only Isaac floating around, O'Brien showed that he was back in the fight of the war.

Naturally, the opponent changes formation to take advantage of Isaac, but O'Brien completes the next formation ahead of time based on the opponent's movement, completely closing off the way to go.

 He was good. Unbelievably good.

If Isaac is unreasonable, he should not have been the opponent from the beginning. The strategy seems to be to keep Isaacs, the pawn, afloat on the battlefield and chip away at the rest of the field.

Because the forces that should have served as O'Brien's shield have been divided to the left and right, our general has become temporarily defenseless, but Isaac should not be able to attack in this situation.

With Schneizel waiting on our side, Isaac could not boldly use his strong pawns.

 That is normal...

"Ha ha! I'm seeing all of this! O'Brien! That's how you're trying to buy time, isn't it!"

Again, Isaac was beyond ordinary.

He had fully considered the possibility that it was a trap and launched an assault on O'Brien.

Well, it's not hard to see the logic.

If we are to win, we need reinforcements from the mainland. To buy time for that, they must have thought that Isaac was trying to make us stand on our own two feet.

---Isaac is not the only one who is unusual or crazy.

O'Brien would never wait for reinforcements.

"Cut them down."

O'Brien instructed his men as he retreated. As usual, information transmitted at a speed far faster than the average for this era quickly affects the battlefield.

"Hmm, how far will you go to fight me?"

This time, Isaac's entourage, which was very small in number, rushed to the front. The soldiers rushed there.

Without them, it would be difficult for Isaac to survive in the Arcadia Royal Army. Therefore, Isaac had to stop to help his men, while O'Brien finished moving far away.

Moreover, the soldiers who moved under O'Brien's direction had started fleeing at the same time Isaac approached, resulting in a wasted trip.

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves too quickly, Isaac," O'Brien said." It's a war we're fighting. Let's talk more.

"Then cut a deal with me, you raccoon."

That's impossible.

It was back and forth. The battle continued in a deadlocked situation
