They joined up with O'Brien and others who had made it through the enemy lines, and then continued to run away, dealing with overwhelming odds.

O'Brien's orders were perfect.

He controlled the vast battlefield and the thousands of people who moved like a turbulent stream in the midst of it, always choosing the best course of action from a myriad of options.

Perfection beyond perfection. How much experience does it take to be able to see the battlefield with such precision?

At least, I can't copy him.

 That's why...

"Haha, I finally caught you, O'Briennnn!'

Isaac's strength stands out, as he broke through all of this head-on with his overwhelming combat ability and closed the gap between the two.

Isaac, who was chasing just a dozen or so horse lengths behind him, carried a great sword on his shoulder and was boiling with an enormous will to fight.

Although they are the same human being, the man with a strong presence looks like a giant.

My heart shrinks. I can't breathe. My hands shake and my will to fight shatters,

"Calm down. There is still hope."

O'Brien's cold voice envelops us, but even that doesn't make sense anymore.

The cold was heated and melted by a searing, murderous intent that sent me back down into the depths of fear.

Oh, no. There is no way I can win now. After my will to resist is shattered, all that remains is a wretched survival instinct. I found myself wandering around, looking for a way out.

Then my shifting gaze caught sight of O'Brien and his loyal retainers.

"Sir, it's not safe to approach any closer."

"I understand. Everything is going according to plan. Mazer, come on.'

"Ha!"

Unlike me, who had already given up, none of O'Brien's men had lost their will to fight. On rather, further zeroing in, sharpened to the limit.

Oh, I see. There is another plan left?

With some relief, I clenched my hand tighter...

"Kid, that's it."

Mazer, who had been fighting with me on the horse, suddenly grabbed me and threw me onto the horse beside him.

"What are you doing?"

"I can't let you go any farther. I thank you, kid. I was able to contact the next generation of heroes and feel secure about the future of Arcadia."

"What are you talking about?"

"Farewell., Your Excellency, and Godspeed."

Mazer, with a smile on his aged face, turned his horse around. What awaited him was Isaacs. Death. But why, no, because, but the operation, no way.

Finally, understanding.

O'Brien is going to use his loyal subject as a stepping stone.

Surely this is the only way to buy time. But, oh, no.

I fearfully steal a glance at O'Brien's complexion. There was the appearance of a commanding officer who had not moved an inch.

A man who would put aside his personal feelings and use everything for the greater good. This is the aspect that General Ghardias of the Kingdom of Arcadia also has.

Mazer drives his cavalry. Leave us behind him and run further away.

While everyone was looking only ahead, I was looking back with regret. Mazer and I have only fought together today in this battle, but I still don't want him to die.

If I felt that way, I wondered how much pain O'Brien and the others must be carrying in their hearts.

Hiding it behind a mask, I run forward, onward and fast.

So I put aside my doubts and looked forward.

That's right. The experience I gain in this battle will help me in the future. I will overcome the ordeal that Argiano may have prepared for me and make it my power to help Crescencia.

 ---That's why!

A roaring swordfight roared behind me.

Once, twice, there was a high-pitched sound of destruction, like a sword shattering, and the next moment, the sound of someone falling from a horse.

The scorching pressure that was driving us on has not abated in the slightest.

Then Mazer is already ------

'Ha, that won't buy you any time!

 Isaac closes in again.

The same cycle repeated itself after that.

If the distance was closed to the limit, one of the faithful would become a throwaway stone, buying just a few moments of time.

However, they could not afford to repeat this over and over again. The opponent was not only Isaac, but the entire enemy army that was approaching.

If we lose one of our own, the limit of the enemy we can take on narrows, and we are rapidly being hunted down.

Even so, O'Brien remained persistent.

It had been an hour since Mazer's death, and if this was an escape attempt against Isaac and the entire enemy army, it was beyond even the very best.

But it would stop there.

At last we were down to a few men, and we stopped with Isaac right in front of us.

"I guess you're the only one who can run away from me this far,had my fun, O'Brien."

"I don't want to do it anymore. ''

"You don't have to say that. Well, I, too, would prefer a bloody struggle to a sideshow like this. Huh."

"Damn it, lord, run..."

"You think I'm going to let you get away from me at this point?"

The loyal subject who tried to escape O'Brien was instantly cut down by the great sword.

However, O'Brien remained seemingly unconcerned even after seeing this and looked up at Isaac with a natural look on his face.

'Hmmm. Everyone, don't move until I say it's fine".

"Oh, you still think there's more to come from this whole situation?"

"If you're afraid, why don't you just kill me quickly?"

'It will be your strength to make me wonder if it is the right thing to do or not at the right time."

He waved his hand and cut with his great sword in time to kill O'Brien. Still, Isaac hesitates and doesn't step in for the final blow.

A few seconds passed in silence, and then....

" Ha ha."

 O'Brien laughs fearlessly,

"What?"

Isaac rolled his eyes and stared far into the distance toward the main camp of the Royal Army of Meltor.

I looked in that direction, keeping Isaac in my sights.

"Oh my God!"

The flag of the Royal Army of Mertor was broken, and the flag of the Kingdom of Arcadia was waving there.

"What? Fierro is protecting the main camp!"

"Fierro and backs. I guess I've got the better of the battle of the deputy".

"No, , but if I kill you here..."

The moment Fierro's safety was unknown and hesitation was no longer an option, Isaacs went all out to kill O'Brien.

"Now, everyone!"

O'Brien gave the order with a fierce, woven spirit.

In response, his loyal subjects began to move...

"What??"

After Mazer's death, I, who had been riding with another subordinate, was somehow blown up in the air again.

I kept my balance with wind magic and hurriedly caught sight of the battlefield below. For some reason, the old soldier who had thrown me was moving to secure my retreat, not O'Brien's, and so were the others.

None of them were protecting O'Brien, and they were fighting to let me escape.

The commander was empty, having lost his protection. Isaac, who had approached easily, caught him in a deadly melee and swung his great sword at him... and just before the end, O'Brien looked up at me and spoke, "Run.

Run.

Hey, somebody tell me what's going on.

Is this, this end, what you call the plan?
