Chapter 39. Celebration party

Since an ending party was a place where people expressed their inner thoughts after the movie ended, the mood of the ending party changed depending on the success of the movie.

In cases in which movies flopped at the box office, some companies didn't even held a ending party.

But if the movie is a huge hit like the case with «Secret spy», then the party is full of wild people.

'They are drinking like there's no tomorrow.'

It was Ren's feelings as he stared at the joyous atmosphere in the restaurant.

While venting about their busy schedules and problems they faced in the middle of filming, all the managers were drinking alcohol like addicts.

Even the production employees, the staff members, the directing team and even the actors who worked on the movie were drinking alcohol like water.

Everyone was drunk in excitement and alcohol tonight.

It was really a crazy atmosphere.

"It is crazy, right."

Ren stared at Chu Min who said the exact same thoughts in his head.

When Chu Min saw Ren stare at him, he sipped a glass of alcohol and said.

"You will get used to it soon. You will probably attend many parties from now on."

"Yeah, I will."

Ren had never visited these celebration parties before and it was his first time visiting one.

Ren had thought that it would be crazy but he didn't knew that it would be filled with this much madness.

No matter where he looked at, all the people were chatting noisily while drinking with each other.

Some even have their arms around each other and were drinking like they are long lost friends who had met after a long time.

"Are you getting used to your schedule?"

Suddenly, Chu Min started talking about work.

"Well, I am slowly getting used to it. I only had some interviews or photoshoots for magazines these days."

"Well, you will slowly get famous. Maybe after you did some more movies or dramas. I myself did many dramas and movies and now, I am finally here."

"So, how is your life, right now. After becoming a mainstream actor?"

Ren asked as he thought about Chu Min's recent schedule.

Honestly, despite them being from the same agency, they didn't met much, especially after Chu Min's popularity shot through the top.

He was even surprised that Chu Min was able to attend the celebration party.

"Me! I am living my dream life, right now. I have tons of fan meetings and I also have couple of advertis.e.m.e.nts lined up. Although it's a bit tiring, my life can't be better."

"You must be bathing in money, you should treat me to dinner sometime."

"Isn't it you who should treat your brother here to a big grand meal?"

They both laughed after saying that. Despite the difference in popularity, they both were still great friends.

"Hey, Chu Min, come here and have some drinks with us."

As Ren and Chu Min were talking, someone called out to Chu Min and he reluctantly got up to have some drinks leaving Ren to drink alone.

It was Shi Shang. He was looking dead drunk and his face was also red.

As he came close to Ren, he directly hugged him and started talking excitedly with him.

"Hey, why is you sitting alone here? You do not look like you had many drinks."

"No, I just had a few, I still live in my parents house, so my mother will be angry if I reached home dead drunk."

Ren shook his head as he said that and Shi Shang widened his eyes in disbelief.

"What! You are still living with your parents. I thought that actors are more wild."

'I don't what exactly do you mean by wild?'

Ren thought in his heart but didn't say it out loud. Shi Shang was still talking excitedly.

"Just look at your manager. You should drink like him."

His face was slightly red but Ren didn't worried much about him as he was a good drinker.

"Well, he is really enjoying himself."

"Yeah, you should also enjoy yourself more. You know in the past..."

Shi Shang said as he excitedly started talking about his past.

How he first came in contact with the entertainment industry and how he became the marketing team leader.

It was a boring and dull story but Ren still listened to it, albeit reluctantly.

"So, that's how I became the leader of the marketing team."

"Your journey is really great."

"Yeah, it is, right."

Although Ren said that, he didn't wanted to hear more of his story. Thankfully, he didn't stay for too long and walked up to another table releasing Ren from the misery.

After that, Ren again started drinking and eating alone. He wasn't much interested in socialising with others.

If he really went table to table, he would have to drink a lot. He didn't want that.

He was happy that he can eat and drink in peace but his peace didn't stayed for long as someone again approached him.

It was Li Xinru and she was at least looking sober. It looks like she didn't have much alcohol but there were various chicken skewers in her hand.

She was eating them with a happy and satisfied expression.

"You can eat them slowly, you know."

"I finally can eat them after such a long time. Don't tell me to eat it slowly."

Li Xinru said as she grumbled. She was acting as if those skewers would leave her hands if she didn't eat quickly.

After the movie was finished, Li Xinru was also released from her diet. That's why she was happily eating the food.

"So, how's it going for you. Do you decide on your next project?"

Li Xinru suddenly started talking about their next projects.

"Well, I haven't. What about you?"

Although Ren had heard that Jiang Wan was looking at some project proposals, it was still too early to decide.

"Me. My company is planning to have me play as the lead actress of a romantic comedy. Although I haven't read the story yet, Sister Ling said that it was good."

"A romantic comedy, huh. It looks like you are doing great."

"Yeah, I am."

Li Xinru said as he showed him a smug look like she was saying 'look at me, I an great, right'.

Being cast as a lead in a romantic comedy was good, romantic comedies mostly focus on the female characters and being castes as the lead mean that Li Xinru talent has finally been acknowledged.

As Li Xinru and Ren was talking, a woman who looked to be in her 40s approached them.

She was looking somewhat nervous and from what Ren can remember, he had never seen her.

"Hel-hello, my name is Zhu Yin, I worked as a writer."

When she introduced herself, Ren found a switch turning around in his mind.

He had never seen her but Ren felt that he knew her.
