"Sure, you can sit here."

Ren said as he tried to hide his surprised expression.

He had expected the cold attitude of other actors and actresses towards him but he never expected Chen Mei to suddenly approached his table.

Although he was surprised, he didn't reject her as it will be good for both of them to know each other as they will be doing a lot of scenes together from now on.

"Ms. Chen Mei is more beautiful in real life than in TV or movies."

As she sat down, Chief Han said trying to flatter her a bit.

"Does I don't look good on the screen?"

"No, no, I didn't mean that.…."

"Don't worry, I am just joking. Thank you for your compliment though."

Chen Mei said as she smiled playfully and Chief Han just scratched his head while laughing.

White bear and Xiao Rin was just staring at her without saying anything.

White bear was too shy in front of strangers, so he choose to stay silent and Xiao Rin was kind of trying to observe Chen Mei or something as she stared at her with slightly narrowed eyes.

"You are provably thinking as to why I decided to suddenly approach you, right?"

Chen Mei asked Ren suddenly averting all the attention on her.

"You could say that. I was wondering about it but isn't it because we will have many scenes together, so you wanted to get to know each other."

Chen Mei shook his head at Ren's words and said.

"No, it was because I wanted to know how you were able to act so well in the audition."

Ren's gaze became strange when he heard that. He was sure that Chen Mei was not there when he was auditioning.

He wondered how she knew about his audition.

"Don't look at me like that. I just saw your audition tape. It was a great shock if I could say so."

Chen Mei said as she thought about the time when she watched Ren's audition tape.

She had requested that audition tape from Arc production because like everyone else, Chen Mei was also sceptical about Ren playing the role of the main character.

That's why she had requested the tape from Arc production as she doesn't want a drama she liked to flop because of someone's acting.

But she had to admit after watching the tape that Ren's acting was great. She had also watched his acting in «Secret spy» and it was really thrilling to watch him play the role of Jay.

But it was entirely different when he played the role of Rei. It was like he was not playing the role but he was Rei.

It was that realistic. Due to this, Chen Mei wanted to meet Ren for a long time. She wanted to meet Ren as she thought of him as a natural actor.

"You were really great in your audition. It was no wonder that Director Fu approved you as the main lead."

"Thank you for your compliment. I still have many things to learn."

"Don't be modest. You surprised me by your acting but there was someone else who surprised me more."

Chen Mei said while alternating her gaze to Xiao Rin. It looks she had also watched her audition tape.

"Me?"

"Yeah, I never thought that there would be such promising rookies in the same year. Your performance was really great as Yiren, especially your chemistry with Rei."

"Thank you but we just have more time to practise as we are from the same company."

"I don't think it's just that. You have to know each other for a very long time to have such a great chemistry or you had to have immense trust in each other."

Ren and Xiao Rin looked at each other even they heard that.

'Immense trust?'

Ren thought about that as he tilted his head. He certainly have trust in Xiao Rin but he didn't knew if it is enough to termed as immense trust.

As Ren was thinking about that, he suddenly heard the door opening. Director Fu and CEO Wang entered through the door.

Seeing them entering, many celebrities went to greet them. Chen Mei was also one of them.

After Chen Mei left their table, Xiao Rin's expression became strange. Seeing this, Ren asked.

"Did you disliked her?

"Ah, I don't particularly hate her but I had heard some rumours about her."

She had also heard about the rumours about Chen Mei's dating life. She became wary of her because of that.

"I think you should try to stay away from her, Brother Ren?"

Xiao Rin suddenly said somewhat surprising Ren.

"It will be hard to do that as we will have many scenes together."

"Th, that…..."

Xiao Rin made a difficult face when she heard that as she tried to think about an answer.

Watching her like that, a smile swept across White bear's and Chief Han faces as they tried to stop themselves from laughing.

Ignoring that, Ren also stood up to greet the CEO and the Director.

"Let's work hard and make this project a big success. Don't worry about the controversy and just focus on your acting."

"Yeah, I have great expectations from you. Don't listen to anyone. We believe in you."

Director Fu and CEO Wang said some encouraging words to Ren, to try to motivate him.

They talked for a few minutes about the controversy and how Ren should just think of it as a form of noise marketing.

Although they said that, both of them, especially CEO Wang was very happy by the controversy as it made people curious about their drama and gave it a lot of publicity.

Even the higher ups were dancing in joy because of this.

As Ren kept talking with CEO Wang and Director Fu, the other celebrities kept whispering among themselves.

They were wondering is Ren was close with CEO Wang and Director Fu.

As they were not able to hear the conversation, they were making various conjectures among themselves.

They were talking about how Ren got the role because he was a relative of CEO Wang or how he was close with Director Fu, that's why he cast him as the lead.

Ren just ignored those whispers as he just thought about his acting.

Like how Chief Han had said, the best way to show them his worth was through acting.
