Towards Godhood

Du Lan had been patrolling the forest in hopes of finding the man she had shot with her arrows a day ago by order of her tribe, but not having any luck in doing so, as the man seemed to have vanished.

Before this, she and her sister made camp on top of the waterfall she had found their target. After which they waited for the night to pass before starting their search.

When the morning came, they were thinking about how to find him with no clues.

Du Lan proposed them hunting him alone but close enough to each other in case of Xiao Fan finding Du Lan first so that her sister could come to help in minutes.

To this, Du Huan had strongly disagreed, but Du Lan's promises to stay close to her shouting now and then for her to know how close they were led her sister to agree reluctantly.

However, when they had started doing so, some monkeys had captured her while other monkeys must have kept Du Huan in place.

They have never thought about something like this. Never having even heard about monkeys living in this arena and not even speaking about the mutants.

Nevertheless, it had happened.

During the ambush itself, she had gotten only one arrow to leave her bow injuring one of the assailants, but that was too little.

For soon after that, two furry hands had grabbed her from behind, locking her in place.

Then more had jumped on her, and the next thing she knew was how the monkeys capturing her had left her sitting here

Everything had happened so fast that Du Lan cried because of the fear while being dragged into this house. She was terrified about losing her life right now as anyone being kidnapped by some animals would be.

Though after that it had already been hours of sitting on this cold cave floor.

The only thing keeping her from crying anymore was the fact that the monkeys had taken off a piece of cloth that was blocking her vision.

Not much, but it was enough that she wouldn't cry in fear every second.

It must have been hours ago when this all had happened, but hearing a voice, she knew that something was going to happen soon.

For a moment she thought that she was lucky when she realised that the voices weren't made by a monkey but a human.

Sister? Du Lan thought for a moment that her sister had come to save her.

But that was just wishful thinking, and she also knew it as no shouting from the normal had been heard. There was no fighting going on, so it wasn't her sister fighting her way through to her.

Still, something was coming towards her location Du Lan understood from the footsteps loudening with each step the owner of them was making.

Du Lan soon saw that the figure that came in had clothes and thought that at least for some weird reason it was a human, not a monkey, on the other hand when her eyes went up that figure's body she saw the very man they were looking for.

Xiao Fan had also stopped on the sight of the woman for multiple reasons.

His body stopped to think while his rat meat dropped on the floor, and from it, a slap of meat could be heard in the room as they stared at each other.

The first thing to be heard from them was Xiao Fan laughing almost like Cao Cao would as the laugh started and stopped while the sound did differentiate like Cao Cao's, but that was only because a piece of meat stuck inside his throat.

While Dun Lan confusion still in her eyes visible, Xiao Fan gulped down the rat meat in his mouth before laughing some more and then finally stopping to wait for her to think about things while also loosening her mouth gag so she could speak.

After he mouth wasn't stuffed anymore and she could think Du Lan's first words were "You lied to us!"

Du Lan's mind wasn't stable, so her first question during her imprisonment wasn't the best. Currently, her mind ticked somewhat different from usual.

Seeing Du Lan's beautiful face twisting to somewhat of expression between confused and lied upon Xiao Fan chuckled.

"I didn't lie to you two! I merely became a member of this tribe yesterday" He said as he stood there in front of her sitting on the ground.

From hearing this, the expressions on her face didn't change much as her confusion stayed the same or grew a little "How does one become a member of a tribe of monkeys?" And her questions remained at the same level.

"I don't know that myself, but besides I'm not a member. I'm the second in command here!" He said with a haughty expression.

Du Lan's facial expressions changed to a one of anger while her question gained some sanity "So you use some monkeys to kidnap me because what I did to you?"

"No, I have only been ordering them to do other stuff also why I should order them to do such things? If something I would kidnap your sister!"

Why would Xiao Fan kidnap a woman for revenge for something like that? More fruitful would be to capture her sister and then recruit her to join him. There was no real need for a mortal on him, and one would slow him down.

Du Lan took this as an insult on another thing than power for her; it was also an insult of beauty and temperament. "My sister! It's always about my sister with you men, huh? So what if she's taller by a bit and stronger than me? I'm much cuter than her!" She poutingly argued back.

"Of course it's about that" Xiao Fan argued back, but only referring to the strength part. If asked about the others, he would agree that the sisters were on par, but this woman was a little bit cuter.

The only thing differencing the two anyway was differences between the cultivator and a mortal.

As the other one was still growing the other one's body had been moulded by a Body Realm cultivation for a time now, so this one had some of that mortal's cuteness in her face.

In the current situation, however, his reply was not a good one as the already unstable Du Lan was about to cry, as this thing frequently happened after her sister became a cultivator by a random older man's help.

Her sister became a shooting star inside their town and due that no one looked at her anymore, and now a person who kidnapped her said so.

And for even weirder reason Du Huan never told her anything more about that meeting, and also kept that cultivation thing mostly away from her.

This led her being entirely shadowed by her sister in everything lately.

Simply said everyone was around Du Huan and nobody around Du Lan, making even seed the hate spread to her heart.

Xiao Fan didn't yet know this but seeing his captive being on the verge of crying Xiao Fan felt like he couldn't let her cry.

Neither of them was here by choice, as not even he truly wanted to be with monkeys. Maybe having a human friend would be nice, so he decided to befriend this woman.

"Okay don't cry, Lan was it right? How about I help Lan to cultivate, okay?" He came down to her level by squatting and comforted her.

In the unstable mood that she was, Du Lan peeked at Xiao Fan's face from the downwards tilt her head was in as she didn't want to be seen crying.

¨Why would someone like you who wants my sister would help me?¨ She asked. He had just told her that Du Huan was much better than her, yet now he was readily helping her?

¨Sure sure, I was anyway going to teach some monkeys to cultivate that would allow me to have more power. Surely I can make time for you in all of that if you are willing to follow me and pray to a particular entity wholly¨

Cao Cao in the room who had already thrown some items around his own room finally stopped doing so when he heard that at least Xiao Fan would be converting her.

Xiao Fan's stupidity right now had hit Cao Cao hard, but at least he made something right.

Soon enough, the boy would venture out of this forest and realise what a catch he had in her so, for now, his stubbornness in the matters of women could be forgiven and fixed with time.

Meanwhile Du Lan thought for a moment. The only thing he said as payment was to pray to a god and follow him? Well, she and her sister were people who prayed to the local god every day, yet it hadn't done anything, so changing it was fine for her.

Besides, her sister had started to worship some new god she found and had become a staunch follower, even going so far to criticise her old belief and its followers.

¨If you help me cultivate I will help you with anything you want¨ Du Lan said as her sobbing stopped, and a more resolute face could be seen coming out.

For now, she had realised that he honestly didn't want to kill or take revenge on her, as he wanted her to follow him?

Xiao Fan hearing this smiled towards Cao Cao above the two watching while Cao Cao made a satisfactory nod back to him.

The only thing needed now would be to him to tell Xiao Fan how to set any worship site and how to pray towards him, the God of Neutral Chaos.

Now that they had come to a small term agreement Xiao Fan started to untie her from the ropes ¨Tell me something about your self¨ He asked while untied the ropes bounding her that also made him inadvertently touch her hands.

For the moments his hand touched hers Xiao Fan felt a remarkably smooth feeling like he could feel the air in his hands, but the zero experience in life made him not think about the heavenly feeling for long.

Du Lan didn't think much of it and started to talk ¨I'm from the town of Greenwood town that you saw before. I live there with my parents and my sister Du Huan, you have also met her...¨ She started to talk more about the town and herself.

¨There are thousands of people in Greenwood town...¨ ¨Me and my sister Du Huan are very close, and she must still be looking for me...¨ ¨As you have experienced I love bows...¨ Were amongst many other things she said.

When Dulan got started, it seemed never to end, as she talked for a time that felt eternity for Xiao Fan about little details of her life. Not all the things he wanted to hear, but there were also the parts he wanted to hear.

Some of it was valuable to Xiao Fan like things about her town and her combat preferences, and then there were things not so important like what she liked, her dreams, and such things that he didn't pay so much attention to.

When Xiao Fan had untied her he spoke ¨Now even if you are unbound you will still listen to me and act as my assistant like your purpose was¨ This was the only sentence he said to her with an overbearing fashion.

Knocking Du Lan out of the impression that Xiao Fan wanted her for something else than manpower.

As for now, she felt that her sister had somehow left her and that she needed to find a new tree to lean on, and right in front of her, there was Xiao Fan.

However, it seemed that the person in front of her was into men or even apes as he did not care for her looks, but only as a number and a helper.

But before she scrapped all her plans to tie herself into him, a voice came down on that Xiao Fan could quickly know as Cao Cao's.

When Cao Cao made his entrance, Du Lan's body couldn't even function as Cao Cao restricted her from jumping in surprise ¨Don't worry about him he just doesn't get anything¨ The voice ended his sentence with a sigh.

And suddenly as it had started it also ended, for her body was again free to function.

Still shocked, she tried to look calm as possible while thinking about the strange thing that happened to her, but the voice did carry out hope.

And then she responded to Xiao Fan even if he didn't care about it ¨Sure I will happily do anything you want me to do¨ In an extremely tempting way.

This pleasant voice carried over to Xiao Fan's half-listening ears and travelled through his body, making an exciting feeling all over it.

However, even after that, his only conscious reaction was him beginning to think why did his body act so weirdly around Du Lan and Du Huan.
