Chapter 65 - Elixir of Karna

Third

A

Charm

These four words were now burning in Xiao Fan's head as he stepped inside the shop for the third time in three days.

The first day it was the Rising Fox Sect making him troubles and ended up in him going to the corner store with about fifty bodyguards.

Though it was still a small success as no meat of a Body Shattering realm mutant is on the market in Hangzhou, it had still taken a day from him.

The second day it was again the Rising Fox Sect disciples.

Although yesterday they didn't want to bully him, it had been much worse as they were bullying Qian Ki.

Yet if on paper and not minding Qian Ki's crying one could say that it was a good day as he learned a lot about the girl who had a serious inheritance in her.

Spawn of evil he murmured, taking steps towards the counter while everyone's eyes were already on him, gazing at him as if they watched a comet fly by in the sky.

Today on the third day, Xiao Fan pleaded to the gods, including Cao Cao that he could get over with buying some herbs that he truly needed to cultivate faster.

Also, he required a lot of herbs.

Because if he made one dose of a mix or a concoction, both of his women would be angry at him.

And if he made two? Well, the best case then was that he didn't get any. So he would need to make three times the dose which meat three times the materials.

But at least today no one was stopping him, as after no one saw someone else going up to him everyone went back to their own devices, letting Xiao Fan shop in peace.

They might as well try to steer clear of him, or they might catch something from the spawn of evil through him.

Not interested in their thoughts, Xiao Fan was turning the pages of the inventory book.

From where Xiao Fan saw herb after herb listed there, some of them were of use and some trash that even with his knowledge, there was no use.

A ten or so minutes later, he could finally proceed to the clerk who was looking at him.

The clerk didn't look or stay anything more that was needed from him as Xiao Fan began stating the list that he had made.

On the list he was stating from were, of course, all the herbs he would be taking, making it a long list.

If the cashier hadn't heard that the current customer was Xiao Fan, the inventor of Greenheart himself, he would already be asking how would he be paying.

However, Xiao Fan himself didn't know the exact amount of money he had on him, as that was all taken care of by Du Lan.

He only knew that it should be closer to a million than to half a million.

It would appear that having a monopoly on a product that is essentially a must-have for everyone can be quite profitable, especially so when you only receive money for doing nothing.

Soon the number of herbs and weed that were put onto the table for Xiao Fan started becoming quite a considerable amount, as in the desk was filled with different types of plants in vases.

The vases were there only so that a plants lifespan could be lengthened.

A herb in Body Realm supposedly only had a typical flower's worth of lifespan when plucked out, and in a place like Hangzhou were business was scarce not using vases was a road to an unsuccessful shop.

Although he had figured that this shop should never make a profit anyway.

It was only here to maintain a presence.

In the case of some real cultivator would randomly wander over here could they still stock up on herbs.

No local here was buying enough herbs for the shop to turn a profit.

Xiao Fan inspecting the herbs he ordered was confident that most things that he saw were the things he needed, and so after paying some 100 000 gold coins for all of them, he had finally succeeded in buying some herbs.

He couldn't even describe how relieved he was when he stepped outside of that shop with the herbs.

The feeling right now was as if he had fought a battle for two days and on the third a final day he had come out on top.

When the feeling was gone, Xiao Fan took his turn back to the hotel where Du Lan should be waking up which she was.

And after a morning kiss and other activities, he proceeded towards the Qian Family residence to meet up with Qian Ki, who was already waiting for them.

Qian Ki had stabilised much

So much in fact that she was now happily waiting for them in front of a load of alchemic equipment his father had taken here coming from the Ohin proper.

Qian Ki before letting him get to those equipment, wanted her share of attention after which Xiao Fan could start his duties, yet before she was about to start the two women of his had something to say.

¨Teach us!¨ Was a pretty simple order that they said in a pretty stern voice, a voice which to Xiao Fan could only pretty much comply to without question.

¨So you two want to become alchemists?¨ He observed the two women being serious about their request.

¨Yeah it's a useful skill to have.

Plus, right now, we can only train so much during a day to have a steady increase before you inject varying liquids into us¨ Du Lan explained why she wanted to learn it with a twist at the end.

While Qian Ki the now shyly girl who hadn't talked to Du Lan yet about her secret that had been found out decided to whisper her motive to his ear so that Du Lan couldn't hear her.

Xiao Fan, hearing her reason had a little shaky smile.

Since her reason to learn alchemy was half about the alchemy and half about learning how the blood flows and can it be used with alchemy.

Well, both still had a good reason to learn it, he thought.

And so started teaching them while setting up the equipment that was left after he had smashed most of it during the visit into the tower.

'Shouldn't have smashed everything into pieces' He thought to himself, as he noted that the equipment left was sub-par.

Luckily there was still enough things that he could start stuffing things into the flask and pipes before starting the fire.

Now that the fire was on, he would only need to wait before one of the liquids he was going to be injecting into Du Lan would be ready.

During this time he got more plants out of the bags he had dragged here.

Then using them to teach some basics into them.

And no one wouldn't need to tell him that teaching these two women was much better than teaching some monkeys in a cave.

There in the tribe, he taught some furry beasts, who had no attention span.

For here, he was teaching the two most precious people in his life, who gave their undivided attention to his teaching.

It was one hour long teaching session before Xiao Fan, who was sometimes looking behind him, noticed that the concoction he had made was ready to be harvested.

And this time there was no black slime which looked similar to what could come out from Qian Ki's room after she cleaned and compressed everything together.

This time in the flask that all the pipes lead to there was a glimmering red mist, not a liquid, a mist that was heavy enough that it didn't escape back into the pipes.

The mist was truly heavy.

It was heavy enough that Xiao Fan had minor difficulties when distributing it into three vials and then shutting the rest in the flask for later use.

Even then, the small veils that contained the finished product still weighted around fifty or so kilos with the mist inside.

Surprising the two women, who had thought Xiao Fan was joking with them when he had been struggling with it.

¨So what is this thing?¨ Du Lan asked, her eyes trying to look why the gas was so darn heavy, as she only saw mist inside the veil, and mist wasn't heavy, yet this was?

¨Similarly to the black slime we had last time this mist contains the energy that was inside of those herbs that I just put on¨

¨However, this is something completely different, and like I, you too will say that the black slime was a forced product, while this is an actual medication based on a formula¨ He explained to his two students.

Qian Ki ¨Is this something comparable to what the people in Ohin proper use to fasten their cultivation? I heard these things are pretty expensive¨ She said while also and for no reason trying to look into the veils.

Xiao Fan didn't understand at all why would everyone look into the veil as if they could see something there ¨Well, one lets me talk, and I will tell¨ He told the student interrupting him.

¨First of all this elixir is by definition, a small potion of strength. Its specific name is Elixir of Karna. The biggest difference to the last product is that this is clean compared to the forced product which has more side effects¨ He said before interrupted again.

Du Lan ¨And how much does this help us?¨ She asked the important question that concerned her and Qian Ki.

She didn't go through the side effects almost at all, so she didn't care about that part.

To which Xiao Fan didn't have a definitive answer ¨It makes us stronger. I'm pretty sure that I can break through to the second grade of Body Activation realm. For you two to breakthrough I don't think one doze is enonough¨ He shrugged his shoulder since this was all his guessing.

The body realm wasn't really researched upon that much.

And even if there were things to be researched, no one cared about it enough while those people in Ohin Continent who did care didn't have information nor tools.

This lead to that the Body Realm was pretty unknown territory.

Most thought it as a thing that was there to be run through in a few years before one could start real cultivation in the Qi Realm.

Why would someone stop to ponder on a road which was already mapped for him or her?

Du Lan hearing this could also just shrug her shoulders.

If he didn't know who would know? As after she had started reading the Book of Cultivation, she had come to realise that no one needed more information.

Extra information was even to her excessive, and would only fill her head.

¨Well I guess it good cultivation then¨ Du Lan said.

¨So it is. I'll go into the guest room so I can lay somewhere during the breakthrough you two play nice while I'm away ok?¨ He said, leaving the two eager students of his.

To which both nodded.

Yet the moment Xiao Fan left into Qian Ki's house, leaving the two of them there, alone, to talk about Qian Ki's practises.

It went pretty much by Du Lan questioning a few things about her cultivation.

To which Qian Ki of course happily told anything.

What did she have to hide from her? Except for that notion that she had told Xiao Fan.

Meanwhile, the two women talked, Xiao Fan took a look at the mist inside the bottle before gulping it down.

As the mist went into his mouth, it then slowly started to float down his throat since it was so heavy that it wouldn't say in one's mouth long before going down the throat.

In this process, the only thing Xiao Fan could do was feel how it tickled him from the inside as what other things could he do?

Gulp down the mist? Surely not, so he just took a comfortable position on the bed.

Predicting that he could with this dose breakthrough into the second grade was right because the moment after it had finally floated into his stomach, the process of breakthrough commenced.

First, it was the normal enforcing of muscles and defences before it started the second process that Xiao Fan was waiting for much more.

Xiao Fan soon felt that he was again a speck of dust and it strangely felt that he was in the very same place he had been in when he had left from the last time.

But how could one know that he was in the same position two times inside complete darkness and void? Nevertheless, that was only feeling as he started racing in the endless void.

Xiao Fan didn't try to count time or such.

He had done so the last time being here but found out that time here was different from the time that had gone outside way too much for them have any correlation.

Yet this time at the very end when he was waking up outside, he started seeing something, or so he thought.

Just before he was s.u.c.k.e.d out of this place again, he had seen a minimal difference in the colour pattern of the world.

Did that place actually have different colours? Was his last thought before waking up.
