Chapter 77 - World 4.6

"Shiro, What are you doing here? You are alone again"

Homura took the seat  beside the kid. Shiro didn't answer, he was staring into nothingness.

"Shiro?"

The kid seemed startled, knowing that there was a human being beside him. "Homura.." he uttered

The other male chuckled "This kid really is something" . Homura said in his mind, he should be asking Shiro to call him 'brother' but this child is really beyond his imaginations.

Homura always finds him in the same spot every afternoon. Shiro was always waiting for the sunset everyday. He thinks that the kid cherishes sunset so much.

"Shiro, Can I ask you something?" Homura broke the silence. The kid looked at him and nodded

"Did you run away? Is there something bothering you or scares you?" Homura asked

Shiro made a half smile, then he looked back at Homura "How about you? What's your biggest fear?" he asked

{Did he just answer me with another question?}

AUTHOR: Obviously..

{You know what?! This kid is really something..}

AUTHOR: Make it clearer, You kept saying that over and over again

{ --_-- }

Homura smiled nervously, rubbing the back of his head "My fear? Ehehe...I think..uhhh…" he paused like he was brainstorming on something

"..pfftt..!" Shiro chuckled "Why are you so serious about my question? You don't need to answer if you don't want to.." he said hugging his stomach

Homura saw how Shiro smiled, his crimson eyes were once again reflecting through the dandelion sky. His smile was bright and gentle.

"You're cute…"

Shiro froze, Homura jolted after realizing the words he just blurted out unconsciously.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean it in a bad way!" Homura sprang up "I just find your smile beautiful.." he exclaimed

Shiro looked at him with a straight face, he locked his eyes on Homura for a minute. "I also like your hair" he uttered

Homura blushed as he slowly sat down. "M-My hair?"

"Your hair looks like the dandelion sky when it's sunset, I love the color of it." Shiro said, staring into the horizon again

{I feel like we are the same age when he's talking to me like this}

AUTHOR: Who knows?

{You! Did you know something about this plot?!}

AUTHOR: That's a secret..

{Humph!..}

Their eyes went to the sun that was slowly going down, meeting the horizon. The dandelion sky was slowly turning to gray, welcoming the night sky.

The chilly wind caressed the flowers under them, the bees hovering in it were already flying away. The quiet afternoon slowly turned to peaceful night.

Homura was so relaxed that he almost forgot the things he needed to do. Slacking is indeed his hobby.

"Shiro?"

The kid was already sleeping on the bench. Homura was surprised after realizing that Shiro hadn't eaten dinner. So he tried to wake him up.

"Shiro? Are you that sleepy? we still need to eat dinner.." he said, but it seems that the child was already snoring soundly

"I guess I have no choice.." Homura brushed his face

Then he slowly moved the kid as he lifted him up towards his shoulders, giving him a piggyback ride. He also wrapped his jacket in Shiro to make him warm.

Homura quickly laid the kid in his room as they reached the Mansion. He'd make sure that Shiro would not be disturb.

On the other hand, Yuna insisted on watching over Shiro because Homura was going to eat his dinner.

While Shiro was sleeping, he dreamed that he was in a place where the empire of Adlacevil was on the verge of falling down.

He saw a familiar face from the past, he was crying and agonizing in pain. His face was all full of blood.

"Luca.." the familiar face uttered

Shiro looked at him with sadness, tears welled up in his eyes. He wanted to call him but he couldn't remember his name.

The place was quickly eaten by fire, lots of dead bodies were thrown and slumped everywhere. The color of crimson blood was covering the royal state of the place once called the Palace.

Vampires with their fangs are ferociously attacking their enemies. The war between the two old bonded empires has already ended.

The place suddenly changed it's setting. Shiro was now in a place where there were different kinds of flowers.

The butterflies and bees were hovering freely above the sweet petals.

There he saw two males, they were in their teenage years. They were laying on the grassy part of the field.

"Luca, Why are you so scared of bees?"

"I don't like them, their stings are so painful" Shiro said

The other male looked at him, spreading his arms wide "Bees are cute, they're the same color as the dandelion sky at sunset"

Shiro frowned "You like sunset so much, even your hair looks like the sun" he said

"But I love your hair too!! I was silver like the stars. I hate night because it's dark, but when I'm looking up..the stars are sparkling above..then I feel like you're with me" the other male said happily

Shiro sat up "I envy you, you are so brave..unlike me..I have a lots of fear" he said as he sighed

"Shiro, What's your biggest fear?"

Shiro clenched his fist and lowered his head. His eyes became sorrowful and then under that sad expression he answered

"Your face..when the time of---- comes.."

"Yuna!!!!"

The thudding sound was clearly making the door croaked. Yuna, who was now sleeping, quickly opened the entrance.

She saw Homura sweating and catching his breath.

Yuna frowned "What the matter?" She asked

The male took a deep breath "Shiro…" he uttered "He had a fever, he was shaking and trembling in so mu----"

Yuna didn't let him finish, the woman quickly grabbed her things on her table and then both of them dashed to Shiro's room.

Shiro was indeed shaking and groaning in pain. Homura helped Yuna prepare her things. The woman had the ability to heal any kind of flu, she had the sacred core in her body. By using talismans, she can command a cursed soul to heal whoever she wants.

Minutes passed by, but Shiro's fever was still not going down.

"Yuna, What should we do? He was still struggling in pain" Homura worriedly asked

"Homura, I need to look up his soul to know what's happening inside his body" Yuna said like it was the only thing she could do.

Homura gave her a hesitant look, he knew that they don't have the rights to do it. Looking at one's souls means you will also know their real identity and form, and it was disrespectful for Shiro.

The heavy atmosphere between the two broke when Shiro finally opened his eyes, he uttered the name "Homura.."

"Shiro! You're finally awake!" Homura exclaimed in surprise

Yuna quickly scanned the kid's body once more and then she was relieved when the fever finally went down. After a minute of talking to him, Yuna bid her goodbye while Homura insisted on watching the kid.

The two were left there.

Shiro was silent, his gazes were deep and meaningful, while Homura was just looking at him thinking whether he will start a conversation or he will let the child sleep.

"Homura.."

The male jolted in surprise "Y-Yes? Do you need something?" he asked

Shiro didn't take away his eyes on the ceiling "I hate nightmares..It's scary" he blurted out

Homura suddenly felt pity for the kid, so he brushed Shiro's hair using his fingertips "I'm here...You don't need to be scared anymore" then he smiled

Shiro's eyes dilated in fluttery, his arms moved towards Homura. He embraced him so tight, then a heavy feeling suddenly overtook him as he buried his head on the male's chest. There was some part of him that wanted to scream what his heart wanted to say.

Homura was fast enough to notice the cracks between Shiro's breath "Shiro?! Are you...Are you crying?!" he exclaimed

"Don't look at me!" The kid exclaimed

{Damn! Kids these days are really unimaginable..}

Homura pat his back "I will not, so make sure that you will feel better after letting it out" he said with his gentle voice

Shiro nodded in agreement.

The time has passed. Homura once again fell asleep beside Shiro. The chilly wind once more invades the room through the glass door of the balcony. The curtains sway with the air as a shadow emerges beside the bed.

Homura once again fell into his embrace, he was snoring soundly.

"My love..How are you?" the melodic voice spoke

Homura groaned as he squinted his eyes, he slowly blinked. Small lights welcomed his sight, it was sparkling in the dark. A familiar view happened for the second time. There were fireflies in the room, leaving bright traces.

"It's you!" he exclaimed after seeing the shadow standing at the balcony door.

The familiar mask and his cunning smile, his tall height were enough to cover the reflection coming from the warm moonlight.

He almost tripped as he quickly jumped out from the bed "WAIT!!"

As he reached the balcony, only the fading lights from the fireflies met him, he was alone again. Homura went back with disappointment, he wanted to meet that man so badly. There were so many questions running inside his mind until he remembered Shiro.

A gasp was released from his lips "Could it be you?"
