Uchiha Itachi Reincarnated

Itachi had passed the first trial with incredible ease, causing the phoenix spirit to feel shocked, although Itachi was unable to see it's shock.

Itachi continued onto the second trial, hearing a voice say via divine sense,"Arrows of the Phoenix"

As he heard this, looking up into the sky Itachi saw a rain of arrows, seemingly taking the shape of miniature phoenixes raining down upon him, like a hellish retribution.

Itachi once again felt no bother facing this, disdaining to even move, merely activating {{Kamui}} and staying motionless.

The first arrow hit, and simply passed through Itachi's body.

Even after a barrage of hundreds of arrows Itachi remained unharmed.

Once more the phoenix spirit was incredibly shocked.

After four minutes the barrage of fiery arrows stopped, with Itachi not needing to move once, having successfully passed the second trial.

The phoenix spirit was now truly shocked, as Itachi had simply passed the trials with such ease, seemingly through the use of his mysterious eyes which became red and black with a strange pattern, something which the spirit of the phoenix had never experienced before.

"Child, the final trial is not one that can be passed as simply as the last ones for you I believe. This trial is known as "Corruption of the Heart's flame" and involves testing something different to battle prowess or innate talent."

Itachi still remained as cold as ever, still having said nothing since the start of the trial.

The phoenix spirit didn't say anything for a good minute, before taking Itachi's silence as an affirmation to continue.

"Good, the let the third trial begin!"

The world around Itachi began to distort, the scenery changing completely.

A smell of blood wafted into his nose, seemingly out of no where, as the lava purgatory in front of Itachi shifted into... the old home of the Uchiha!

There were bodies everywhere, and blood ran into the street, seemingly creating a river of red.

It was the scene of a massacre, a scene Itachi himself would never forget, since he had caused it.

Taking a few deep breaths, Itachi stabilised his shocked expression, once more returning to a cold visage, since even for someone of his mental fortitude seeing this scene again caused him to feel agitated.

He truly hadn't wanted to do it, but it had been for the best, it simply had to be done.

Itachi looked around the familiar scene, seeing all the dead bodies on the floor, but then he saw lying on the floor, unconscious but very much alive, his brother Uchiha Sasuke.

Sasuke slowly slowly came to, sitting up groggily, and when he saw the dead bodies all around him, and then saw Itachi, he was reminded of what he had previously saw, his beloved older brother brutally massacring his parents and everyone else he loved and respected in their Uchiha clan.

Itachi saw these emotions flit across Sasuke's eyes and felt complicated, but once more steeled himself, convinced that this was what had to be done.

"I did all of this, all of this for you Sasuke, I just hope you can live a life free from my shadow and the shadow of the Uchiha."

While Itachi was happy to have seen Sasuke one more time, even though he knew it was an illusion, he had long ago come to terms with what he had done and did not want to dwell on it.

If he faced the same decision he would make the same choice once more, and not just once but every time he was faced with it. That was the level of determination and will that Itachi had reached.

And so Itachi turned to walk away once more, down the lonely road that he had walked in his previous life.

However, as he did so he heard a voice whispering in his ear. This voice seemed to be so seductive and have such a beautiful tone he felt as if he had to listen to it, had to obey its commands.

"Kill Sasuke. Kill him. Kill him and everyone else in the Uchiha clan will be bought back to life and be under your sole command, kill him and you'll gain unbelievable power, power you couldn't attain even in your wildest dreams."

The voice seemed to multiply becoming two, then four, then eight, multiplying at an unbelievable rate, with every single voice whispering the same thing.

Itachi's eyes shrank, as the pressure generated from the voices seemed to weigh down on his very soul, commanding him to obey.

Letting out a mere grunt, Itachi turned around, looking dead straight at his brother Sasuke, who was now running towards him, yelling, "Big brother, big brother!"

The voices' compulsion power was so strong Itachi was unsure if he was able to handle it.

Fearing he would do something to his younger brother he would regret, even though it was merely an illusion, Itachi, with a trembling arm as if he was fighting against an invisible pressure, raised his hand, before plunging straight into his c.h.e.s.t, crushing his heart.

Letting out a smile at his younger brother Itachi collapsed to the ground, fading into unconsciousness, even as the illusion collapsed around him.

"Goodbye once more, Sasuke, until we meet again."

Leaving these words, to the Sasuke from the illusion Itachi passed out, however he swore to himself that he would gain the power he needed to cross from this universe back to his old one, and once more see his brother, no matter what it took!

The phoenix spirit had observed all of this and was shocked by the intense determination and will that Itachi had shown.

"Truly an outstanding performance, his care for his brother is so deep that he wasn't willing to compromise that for power."

The scenery shifted once more, as the phoenix waited for Itachi to awake.
