Uchiha's Butterfly

Kaname found Rin sitting at Kakashi's bed in a medical tent, her eyes were red from shed tears.

"What has happened? Where is his body? Can I still help?" Kaname asked.

"Sorry, Kana-chan. Everything went wrong *Sniff*, when a landslide hit us-" Rin was interrupted.

"I'm a failure of a jōnin. Why he didn't listen to the orders, I told him to run to the exit. He stopped when I was hit by a flying rock and saved me" Kakashi said.

"You really don't know? *Sigh* Kakashi you are denser than I thought. Do you think he thought of you only as a rival? I order you to think about it" Kaname answered him.

"You can't order me, you aren't my superior"

"In this tent, yes I am, deal with it. So what happened Rin?"

"When Obito activated his Sharingan, the entire cave dropped on our heads. As we were bolting out of there Kakashi's head was hit in the back of his head by a rather big rock. *Sniff* Obito seeing that caught Kakashi and thrown him my way, at the same time big boulder crushed half of his body *Sniff*"

Kaname hugged Rin, that was on the verge of tears.

"*Shh* And why Kakashi has one of my foster brother's eyes?"

"*Sigh* Obito forgot to give him his promotion to jōnin gift. As he was dying he thought of giving him his intact left Sharingan. I transplanted it the way you showed me"

"And you still don't understand why he saved you Kakashi?"

"He should listen to the orde-"

*Bonk*

"Do you remember what he was always saying, you doofus? "Those in the ninja world who break the rules and regulations are called trash, but those who don't care about their own companions are worse than trash"! He was your friend, you imbecile!" Kaname yelled at him with tears in her eyes. (AN: Naruto ch 242)

Kakashi was rooted to the spot after hearing the same words Obito said to him two days ago.

"*Sigh* I… I know, it's hard for me to accept it. But I understand, and it's just… F.u.c.k... I'm really sorry, I couldn't save him" Kakashi apologized seeing two teens hugging each other, his brown-haired teammate silently crying to the arm of her friend, he never saw Rin being broken down so much.

"He saved your life and gave you a powerful gift, don't waste it" Kaname said.

"I won't, I promise"

"Rin-chan, come with me, I need to check with my friends. It should help you keep your thoughts away from yesterday. You doofus stay in bed and rest, I will check Rin's work in an hour"

Kaname found her friends under a tree, resting and watching clouds, she and Rin sat near them.

"I see something bad has happened, can you tell us?" Takeshi said after seeing Rin purple cheek markings destroyed by the tears.

"The good news, I was promoted to Tokubetsu jōnin, bow down to me pleb!" Kaname tried to light up the atmosphere.

"And the bad news?" Misa knew that Kaname is hiding something.

"*Sigh* Not now, I will tell you later," Kaname said.

"Okay, Kana-chan you owe me one" Anko replied.

"Eh? What for?"

"You knocked me out yesterday. And I feel like kicking your shapely a.s.s. If I defeat you in a duel will I become a tokubetsu jōnin as well?"

"I doubt it works this way. But I will never say no to a spar, lead the way" Kaname answered.

"So what has happened?" Anko asked Kaname when they were out of the hearing range of their friends.

"... Obito is dead" Kaname whispered, from the corner of her eye she saw Maki's head instantly rotating her way, her eyes shown grief.

"F.u.c.k… Are you alright?"

"No, but I'm holding those emotions back for Rin-chan. She needs someone to talk now"

"*Sigh* Okay let's make a show for them, maybe it will make her focused on the fight instead"

"Thank you, Anko" Kaname replied readying herself for combat.

After five minutes of Kaname countering every attack that Anko sent at her without using her Sharingan, the snake mistress had enough with a couple of hand seals with a big smoke cloud she summoned a Hokage's tower-sized blue snake.

"No more holding back Kana!"

"Make me," Kaname said dodging the charge of the big snake. While pirouetting in the air she saw Nonō talking with her friends and calling her to come back.

"Okay Anko, I have work to do" Kaname said. The snake charged again at her but was stopped a hair-breath away from Kaname's body.

Anko saw that Kaname flashed her Sharingan only for a moment.

"What has happened, why the snake isn't moving?" she asked.

"Sorry, I need to go. I put your toy under genjutsu, have fun!" Kaname said jumping away.

"That's cheating! Get back he- WOAH!" Anko said dodging her snake's attack.

"Hello, Kaname-san. If it's not too much problem, I need your help in the medic tent" blonde-woman said.

"Sure thing, I was heading there either way"

"Uhm… Kana-chan will Anko be alright? It looks like she is barely surviving the onslaught" Misa said.

"Hehe, don't worry Misa, when she clears her head to think for a moment, she will just unsummon the snake"

Kaname made her way back to the medic tent.

"So what's up doofus? Cleared your head?" After Kaname made rounds around the most wounded patients, she returned to Kakashi.

"Don't call me that"

"Yeah, whatever you say Doofus-kun, I will now put you under. I need to check RIn's work"

"*Sigh* It's like I'm talking with Obito all over again… Do what you must"

Kakashi woke up ten minutes later.

"I have got good and bad news for you. I will start with the good one, Obito's Sharingan was almost perfectly transplanted, you will be able to use it in its full capacity without any complications"

"Okay, and what's bad?"

"You're not an Uchiha"

"Yeah, how did you guess that?"

"You don't understand, we Uchiha's and Hyuga's have got special chakra pathways leading from our brain to our eyes. Those pathways give us much better control over our eyes. In simpler terms, you will not be able to deactivate Obito's Sharingan ever again. It will bleed out your chakra reserves. In my opinion, you have three possibilities: firstly you can die, when your chakra depletes, Sharingan will try to draw more of it from any other energy source it can, mainly your heart. Secondly, I can take the eye out. It will make you blind in one eye, but it's better than the first choice. There is also a third option, I can make you a blindfold with a seal, it will deactivate the Sharingan as long as the blindfold is over it"

"Did you even give me a choice?"

"No, not really. I will prepare it for you this afternoon. For now, keep your left eye closed. I will prepare a seal for you and take a nap, see you later"

"Okay… Thank you Kaname-san"

"Hehe, no problem Doofus-kun"

After giving Kakashi his forehead protector with a small engraved seal on it's back Kaname went to sleep.

The next day Kaname was woken up by someone calling her name, she was to meet with Minato and Orochimaru as soon as possible. Minato's face still was full of sorrow, but he greeted her with a shadow of a smile.

"Hello, Kana-chan. This time I have two good news for you"

"Okay, that's better than last time, shoot away"

"For the first part of the good news, I and Orochimaru-san as of now are candidates for a sit as fourth Hokage's" he continued.

"And both of uss, think you would make a nice addition to Hokage's Guard Platoon, do you think yoursself ready Kana-chan?" Orochimaru asked.

"Wow, me? I doubt I'm ready to protect a Hokage."

"You wouldn't join the Guards Platoon instantly, either one of us that will become Hokage would train you" Minato continued.

"Training from a future Hokage? Yeah, I'm in. So it doesn't matter which one of you will become the next Hokage, I will have to join Hokage's Guard Platoon?" Kaname said.

"Yess, my little Kana-chan" Orochimaru answered her.

"Cool. And what's the last part of the news, you just made my day, it couldn't get any better"

"Fufufu, you don't know what you're talking about Kana-chan"

"Both of us are going today to Iwagakure with Hokage-sama to sign a peace treaty. Kumogakure without their allies will also sign the peace treaty the following day. The war is effectively over."
