"Naruto-chan, wake up" Kaname gently shook the boy's arm.

"Guuu- No, I sleep"

"Really? Good, then we don't have to go to this stupid mission to Sunagakure. Let's just stay home"

"Today?!" Naruto instantly woke up.

"*Sigh* I know it's early, for now, go brush your teeth maybe it will wake you up. I will pack everything you will need"

"Hehe, thank you Sasa!" he shot like a bullet to the bathroom.

Thirty minutes later Kaname with Naruto sitting on her shoulder left the former Namikaze estate and headed to the west gate. Hokage in his white-red robes with a hat was waiting for them.

"*Yawn* Hello Hokage-sama"

"Hi Jiji!"

"Hello, are you tired Kana-chan?" he asked.

"A little, it won't be a problem, I'm already accustomed to staying 48 hours awake. I just read a journal this night about an interesting topic"

"Hmm, we can talk about it on the way. We just need to wait for the last person"

"And who is coming with us?"

"A secret. I can't take Anbu with me, but she is someone, you know very well"

One minute later Kaname felt a person trying to come around her back.

"*Sigh* I just told her we're waiting for someone she knows…"

"You don't give Kana-chan any tips! You know she has got a brain ten times bigger than mine!" Anko shouted at her Hokage.

"Hehe, so does it make me smart or makes you a moron Anko-chan?"

"... I'm too old for this"

"Do not complain now Hentai-sama, you chose your companions. Let's go!" Kaname walked forward through the gate, Anko was right behind her.

"Why did you call him a Hentai? Have you got a juicy secret?"

"Oups, did I really? Sorry Hokage-sama, a slip of a tongue" Kaname did a mock bow towards the Hokage.

"It's going to be long four days…" he murmured under his nose.

"So what's the plan Sarutobi-sama?"

"We run for the first ten hours, there is an oasis halfway into our trip, we can stop there and replenish our supplies. As the road through the desert is harder, we will jump from one oasis to the other until we reach Sunagakure. I hope you took your swimsuits, haha" he informed them jumping on one of the trees.

"You would like that, wouldn't you Hokage-sama?" Kaname asked running behind him, Naruto was comfortably sitting on her shoulder.

"*Cough* Let's change the topic, did you say you read an interesting journal?"

"You remember a portion of my chakra got swallowed by the reaper? It seems your former student did a lot of research on the being, I think there is a possibility to recover my chakra. But what's more important I can save Minato-san's soul from the torment of being in the belly of the Shinigami" she never left Hokage to move away from her for more than two steps.

"How the fu-" he looked at Naruto, "How could Orochimaru study the reaper?! Every time you summon the being, the caster must pay with his soul."

"It's not so hard if you have hundreds or maybe even thousands of test subjects, from reading his journal I believe he is looking for a way to make himself immortal"

"Sick bastard. So what's the way to save Minato's soul?" he asked.

"He couldn't finish the ritual, but he believed that Uzumaki's created a mask allowing to control the reaper. It just happened I know which one it is, it is too dangerous to leave it lying out there, so for safety, I always got it in a seal on myself."

"Okay, it's a double S class secret. I don't want anyone, especially HIM taking control of the Shinigami"

"Sorry Jiji, I don't have any idea about what you two are talking about" Anko replied.

"And let it stay that way Anko-chan" Hokage ordered.

"By the way, aren't you too old to move like that Jiji?"

The Hokage in his early sixties was swerving between tree branches in rapid parkour monkey-like movements. Each trick was applauded by a happy blonde kid.

"Anko, he is the Hokage. Despite his age, I'm sure he could still give us a run for our money" Kaname replied.

"No! Sasa is bestest!" Naruto yelled out.

"Don't sell yourself short Kana-chan, you two are one of the best kunoichi's Konoha has ever produced"

Four hours later the lush green forests of the Land of Fire were replaced by brown and green patches of grass and acacia trees. Behind their backs above the huge trees, there was a red sun showing in dawn.

"Beautiful isn't it?" Sarutobi asked looking at the forests and the red light above it.

"Yes Hokage-sama…"

"So who from Konoha is trying to get a chūnin?" Anko asked.

"We sent only three teams to Suna, two of our genins were lucky enough to advance to the last stage of exams. Kaname knows both of them, but I will leave it for a surprise"

"Knowing the last bunch of genin I taught I would bet on them being Shisui and… probably Hayate right?"

"...*Sigh* Okay from now on we run on the ground until we reach the first oasis, we're getting close to the border" he ordered.

Soon the savanna landscape was replaced by sand. In the distance, Kaname noticed small mountain-like shapes showing themselves from under the horizon. Zooming in on them she understood they weren't mountains but massive sand dunes.

"Say Kana, isn't it too hot for you in your combat outfit? And what about Naruto?" Anko was sweating buckets from the hot sun above their heads.

"Hehe, come closer Anko, I will show you a trick"

"Huh?" she jumped right next to Kaname "Why the fu- Why is it so nice and cold around you?"

"Have you ever heard about <Futon: Tsumetai Kyofu>?" (Wind release: Cold Gale)

"I know it, it's only a D-rank jutsu. But how are you casting it unceasingly?"

"I don't, I have a seal for this" Kaname smirked her way.

"And you didn't say you got one until now because?" Hokage asked.

"Hehe, because neither of you asked me. I have got one more, in three who gets it first wins. Three, two, one…" Kaname threw a kunai with a seal attached to it.

Anko shot after the kunai like a bullet.

"Sarutobi-sama, you don't want it?" Kaname asked.

"Who do you take me for? I know you long enough to understand you have a storage of those seals"

"Eh? No fun... Catch!" Kaname lobbed another seal towards him.

"Thank you Kana-chan"

"You're welcome. Hmm? Anko is waving at us"

"Probably from the top of the dune she saw our first stop, let's go"

Following Anko they climbed upon the dune, from the top there was a view of a small green paradise with a blue lake in the middle. It wasn't unhabituated, on one of the banks of the lake Kaname noticed a ninja outpost and three rocky houses.

"We need to meet the guards than we will take an hour or two of a break"

"Will do, Jiji!"

"Let's go Hokage-sama"

"Yay, water!"

Twenty minutes later the trio was all the way to their necks in cold water.

"Sasa, you teach me to stand on water!"

"Hehe, it's too early for you. Firstly you need to learn how to swim. Yes like that, kick out with your legs" Kaname was gently pushing Naruto up letting him feel the buoyancy of the water.

"Damn, you look like a hot young mother Kana, soon I will need to shoo away all those wolves from you" Anko was swimming around them.

"Like you are one to talk, I didn't know they swim?"

"Hahaha, I have two lifebuoys helping me to stay above the water"

"Anko, I think we should let the Hentai-sama cool down, he will die from blood loss at this rate"

"So that's why you call him that! He looks happy out there, not my fault he did dare me to jump into the water topless."

"*Sigh* It would look bad in my record if I let the Hokage die on my watch. Put something on before he wakes up, I will be right back. Naruto-chan want to drench Jiji in water?"

"Hehe, I will be first!" Naruto jumped out of the water with his palms holding some of it and run towards the Hokage.

She created with help from the closest source a blob of water the size of a pumpkin levitating above Naruto's and Sarutobi's heads. Kaname let if fall just after Naruto let go of his of water, Hiruzen woke up and saw a big mass of water just above his nose falling down, she drenched them both.

"*Cough-cough* What the heck?" Hokage asked.

"That's the way you douse someone in water Naruto-chan" Kaname took Naruto in her hands.

"Hehe, nice! Teach me!"

"Someday I will teach you everything, I promise" She prickled his hair.

"Okay!"

"So that was a dream?" Hokage sadly asked.

"Yeah, you had a heatstroke, you didn't saw Anko topless" she replied with a smirk.

"Eh? Stop right there, so…"

"No, it was a heatstroke, end of discussion Hentai-sama. My eyes are up here"

"Hehe, I'm sorry I didn't saw a kunoichi in a bikini for a long time" he answered looking at Kaname in black bikini.

"Biwako-san will grill your arse when you meet her"

"*Sigh* I can't wait to meet her again... I'm too old for this…" he answered while tickling the blonde boy.

"You're still a pervert, but apology accepted"

"I know and thank you, let me cool down in the water and we will pack up"

"What's the distance to the next oasis? And why are we going so fast, we need to be in Suna by tomorrow right?"

"We will rest in approximately four hours Kana-chan. The reason is simple I don't want to wander through the desert in the cold night, those are treacherous lands"

Before they reached the next stop the landscape changed again to the dry and arid scenery. A dust storm neared them from the south. Soon the dust was everywhere, Kaname couldn't see further than three steps, Naruto luckily had his favorite goggles shielding his eyes.

"Hokage-sama, wait for a moment! We will lose sight of each other" she asked.

"Yeah, that's what I was wary of as well. Any ideas?"

"We can tie each other with a rope" Anko yelled trying to outshout the blasting winds.

"I can create a seal, it will create a dome shielding us from the dust and wind. But I need some time" Kaname proposed.

"Do it!"

Ten minutes later Kaname activated the seal, the dust got blown off from around them creating a five-meter radius dome of calmness.

"*Cough* Good job Kana-chan" Hokage coughed out the sand from his mouth.

"We will need to get a long shower when we get to Suna…" Anko black-hair was now dirty brown from all the dust.

"Hehe, Sasa is awesome!"

"Thank you, we should go now. The seal will hold only for the next 3 hours."

Eight hours later when the sun started to set Kaname noticed a big red rock wall beneath it.

"We finally arrived to Sunagakure," the old man said visibly tired from the journey through the desert.
