Uchiha's Butterfly

Kaname woke up with a jolt, she opened her eyes looking wary at the destroyed surroundings.

'Has Minato-san saved my a.s.s again? Heh, a hero before and even after his death, I will compensate him someday' Kaname thought, then her mind remembered two sealed prisoners hidden above the edge of the crater she was sitting in.

'Wait a moment, ah f.u.c.k my peripheral vision is blurred I overused my Mangekyō Sharingan last couple days. That's a topic for later, I need to recover my left hand, Sarutobi-sama would have a stroke seeing me like that…'

An hour later she unearthed herself from the deep crater, she watched Hokage and Anko talking heatedly between themselves pointing at the crater.

'It seems that not much time has passed, looking at the Sun I imagine it's midday' she slowly made her way towards the grey barrier. Hokage noticed her first, Anko was a single second later, Kaname saw their faces loosen up instantly, but after a moment they transformed into confusion, and then into fear for the old-man and anger for the Snake kunoichi.

'What is going on?' Kaname turned her head to expecting to see Kakuzu or Shinigami behind her back but the forest was empty. Looking back towards the barrier Anko was wildly gesturing towards her and screaming something, a moment later Snake kunoichi tried to charge through the barrier instantly getting knocked out again.

'*Sigh* I don't hear you' Kaname pointed at Hokage and her ear turning her head sideways, she got an answer by a nod of his head. From his face, she read that he was worried about her.

In thirty minutes Kaname worked out how to seal was powered up, with a simple counter seal the barrier got broken into pieces.

"Kana-chan, what has happened? Are you okay?" Hokage asked.

"I had a lot of luck, Akai is dead, Kakuzu retreated. I just want to go home and take a very, I mean extremely long relaxing bath" she reported.

"But what about…"

"Hm?" she asked.

"In the barrier, both of us perceived the world in shades of gray, we thought you had traces of dried out blood on your eyes and mouth, but now I see they're black instead of red. Are you alright Kana-chan?"

"Ah, well... I had bigger priorities than to check how my face looks like…" Kaname replied with sarcasm in her voice.

"Kana-chan, I want to help you"

"I know and thank you. It's something I want to, but can't talk about Hokage-sama. Please believe me, I'm mostly alright, I just need to rest"

"*Sigh* If you're sure then I won't push. So what has happened?"

"I don't want to repeat myself as Anko will most likely want to hear the entire description, long story short, they were hard to kill c.o.c.kroaches, I will give you a written update on Kakuzu's powers so you can add them to the Bingo Book for anyone that will fight against him. Akai was a weird but almost an easy opponent, he had only his inviolability working for him"

"Kana-chan how did you defeat someone immune to any attack?"

"Heh, not telling, but I got a hint. Minato-san's soul is free"

"Minato-kun's soul? You mean the Reaper?!" he shouted out.

"Heh, the tales about Akai's immortality were a little bit exaggerated" Kaname smirked, created a small ball of water on her hand and washed her face.

"That was dangerous Kana-chan, I wouldn't mess with the Shinigami" he answered.

"Believe me, that was my last time Sarutobi-sama. Now, how is Anko?"

"Meh, don't worry about her, she clashed with the barrier at least fifteen times trying to go and help you. Each time she got electrocuted and lost her consciousness for ten minutes or so"

"Hmm okay, Hokage-sama I have got a request"

"Yes?"

"Kakuzu is a greedy son of a bitch, I wouldn't put it past him to hunt me for my eyes, but they were here mainly for Naruto-chan. Can you send a message to Jiraya-san to ask him about finding any rumors about missing-nins wearing black clothes with red clouds?"

"Consider it done. Now that you repelled two S-rank ninjas do you feel ready for your promotion to a jōnin?"

"You said that a jōnin should have mastered at least two of his elemental affinities, I know I did not mastered any. Hokage-sama do you feel there is no room for further development even for you?"

"*Sigh* It's only drivel, a ninja never stops learning Kana-chan, from what I saw, you profusely used attacks from every element"

"Drivel or not, I'm not yet ready. I was able to use each of the affinity only because of my Sharingan, I'm not an expert in any of them. But for now, I'm thinking only about some rest Hokage-sama"

"Okay, we will return to this topic later"

"I hope not" she smirked.

They waited not a full minute longer for Anko to wake up and glomp Kaname in a tight hug.

Three of them slowly made her way back to Konoha while Kaname employed as their storyteller. She was describing the entire fight she went through with additional notes at where she could do something better, at least until she faceplanted on the ground after missing her step.

"Hahaha, ten out of ten for that landing!" Anko laughed.

"Ouch, that one hurt…" Kaname slowly stood up massaging her face.

"Hehe, I would say Anko-chan is right, so how does the ground smell here?" he asked with a smile on his face, "Really Kana-chan what's wrong? You're not a klutz, but you toppled over three times the last two hours "

"*Sigh* My eyesight got a little worse, I overused my powers the last couple days"

"What?! You're blind?!" they both yelled out.

"Stop screaming, and no, I'm not blind. Hokage-sama I hope that you will not put it into any doc.u.ments, I don't want my enemies to know of it"

"I understand, but how much sight have you lost, does it hinder you much?"

"Not much, just a small portion of my peripheral vision is blurred more than normally. I still see clearly with my Sharingan active. I want to set aside my eye powers for more dangerous fights, letting me spare my sight"

(AN: It will allow for some "close" fights in the future, MS is freaking OP :-P Don't worry she will have to use it extensively during the next major event)

"Hmm, I'm putting a ban on S and A-class missions for you Kana-chan"

"Whatever, at least I will have some rest" she replied.

Venturing further west they were met with an Anbu flickering next to Hokage,

"Oh, Kuma-kun. Why did you come?" Hokage asked the brown-haired kneeling man.

"We heard from two genins, you were met with an ambush, the entire Team Ro is at your disposal Hokage-sama" after he finished his words, eight other ninjas in Anbu masks shunshined behind him, bowing before the Hokage.

"Thank you for an immediate response Kuma-kun, the situation has been dealt with by Kaname-chan." Kaname easily identified Kakashi and Yugao in the group winking at their intense stare.

"As you are here already Team Ro can escort us back to Konoha. Move out!" the old man ordered.

As they were moving towards the Hidden Village Kaname noticed Yugao and Kakashi moving closer and closer towards her and Anko.

"Good job trying not to be obvious Kitty-chan, just come here… Doofus-kun you too" Kaname called them out.

"Hi" Yugao greeted.

"Yo!" Kakashi waved.

"Hi, so what's up?"

"I heard from Shisui-kun you were ambushed by two S-ranks, are you alright?"

"Oh, how nice, Doofus-kun is worried for me Anko-chan…" Kaname cooed.

"Kana-chan, is everything okay?" Yugao asked.

"Don't worry you two, I'm relatively well"

"Relatively? You fought off two powerful missing-nins"

"Let's skip the details Doofus-kun" she replied.

Three hours later they arrived at the east Konoha gates, waiting for them was the trio of Hayate, Shisui and Naruto. When the little blonde noticed Kaname he started running towards her with a smile on his face.

"Hey, Naruto-chan! Were you worried?" Kaname asked catching him in a hug.

"No" his head shook sideways.

"Eh? Why not?"

"Sasa promised, you never break a promise" he replied with a smile.

'F.u.c.k.i.n.g Shinigami, I almost broke it…' Kaname thought, hugging the child a little tighter.

"Good, I hope you are ready for your training tomorrow morning. We don't want you to fall back behind Itachi's little brother"

"Hehehe, yay ~datebayo!"

"*Pft* Apple doesn't fall far from the tree, don't you think so Hokage-sama?" Kaname snorted hearing Naruto's first-time slip of a tongue.

"Heh, no it does not" he replied looking straight at her thinking about Kushina.

The next day Kaname woke Naruto up at 4 a.m.

"You wanted me to teach you Naruto-chan, now snap out of it and stand up" she ordered.

"Guh, I forgot" he replied sleepily.

"Hmm?"

"Hayate called Sasa a Maou Teacher" (Maou transl. the devil)

"Hehe, that's only the beginning Naruto-chan. Now for the warmup twenty push-ups, sit-ups and squats, you will finish by the relaxing sprint of twenty l.a.p.s around the Namikaze estate"

"Sasa I just woke up...." Naruto replied.

"Hehe, sucks to be you, on the double, if you don't start now, then I will not cook ramen for dinner" The ramen-card always worked, with joy she saw Naruto began doing his push-ups.

"Okay stop it, you're doing it wrong. Shoulders squeezed, glutes and abs tight. Every time you relax your muscles you will receive a single portion of ramen less. Now start again"

Twenty minutes and a couple of lectures later she stood above Naruto's lying body.

"Now that you've finished the warmup," Kaname looked at the wheezing boy, "I will let you fight against my clone, try to defeat it, all moves are permitted Naruto-chan"

"Sasa wait, I need a break"

"<Kage Bunshin no Jutsu>" she made all required hand seals extremely slowly, hoping that he commits them into his memory.

"Heh, Naruto-chan there are no breaks on the field of battle. I need to go and meet with the old man, Have fun"

"Sasa is a demon!" she heard him cry out.

Kaname walked on the wall of Hokage's office and entered through the window.

"Hi, Jiji! You called whoa~" Kaname stopped seeing a mountain of paperwork filling the office.

"I'm here Kana-chan!" she noticed a hand waving behind one of the biggest piles.

"Damn Jiji, what's going on?"

"So it's Jiji now? You were so professional during the Suna excursion…"

"That was a mission, now I'm here privately" she commented.

"Meh, I don't care. This is what happens if I leave the office for three freaking days… THREE! Say Kana-chan, if I asked would you burn these papers? We would say that they self-immolated" he grumbled.

"Tough luck, it's your duty to work through them Jiji. If you would want you could burn them yourself. There is no one to stop you" She replied.

"*Sigh* I called you here because I received a recommendation for early academy graduation, and I would like to hear your opinion"

"Sure, who is the unlucky genin to be?" Kaname asked.

"Itachi-kun"

"Hmm, he is only 9, but Kakashi was even younger when he became a genin. From what I know Itachi-chan steamrolled his academy taijutsu teachers. I believe he will be an amazing shinobi down the line"

"I think so too, but there is another thing to consider, there are no teams created in the middle of this year, I'm thinking about putting him into the Anbu program, preferably into Team Ro, they lack a member for the full squad."

"Hmm, from what I understand of Itachi-chan he abhors the killing, he would do it if ordered, but Anbu? I believe he would be ready for anything, but please keep in mind that he isn't suited for the stabby-stabby missions. I will talk with Yugao-chan and Kakashi-kun, they will give him a crash course and keep their eyes on him"

"Don't bother Kana-chan, I will talk with them. Just pass the message to Itachi-kun that his promotion is approved" Hokage answered.

"Will do, see you later!" Kaname waved at Hokage.

"Bye… Is it just me or those papers multiply themselves?" he murmured taking another piece of paper, with a quick read he took out a special stamp 'Anko approved (✿◠‿◠)' and shelved the validated mission.

"Hmph, another noble requests a beautiful kunoichi for an escort, when will they learn…"

"Hi aunty! Where can I find Itachi-chan?" Kaname greeted Mikoto.

"Hello Kana-chan, good that you are here, we have got a problem" Uchiha matriarch replied.

"Shit, what now? Truly, can't I get a single day of peace?" she complained.

"It's the life of a shinobi Kana-chan. Old fossil Tetsuzan called for a meeting of every chūnin or higher rank Uchiha clan member before I knew it he excluded me and your mother out of the conference. Your brother is inside, but I doubt his voice alone would matter. Itachi-chan is with his father. Come with me!" Mikoto pulled her hand, leading her into the main building.

"What does this old prick wants this time?" Kaname asked.

"I am not sure, I think he wants to counterattack, our clan is receiving a constant bashing from Konoha's leadership. They are accusing us of being responsible for Kyubi's attack"

"Of course freaking Danzo couldn't hold back… Well in some kind of a twisted way, we are responsible aunty. But okay, I will send a clone to Hokage-sama to hear what does he want to do with this situation"

"Mikoto-sama, I'm sorry you are barred from entering" Uchiha guard stood before the conference room doors.

"Don't worry, I brought Kaname Uchiha, she is a tokubetsū jōnin"

"Hmm, she is not on the list" the guard answered after checking the list.

"Aunty Mikoto, let me handle it" Kaname looked straight at the older man with a chūnin vest.

"I will say this nicely you twerp, I'm here on Hokage's orders, so move your a.s.s before I spread your intestines throughout the corridor, please?" her eyes flashed red.

"Guh, I understand but Mikoto-san you can't enter…" he replied weakly.

"Hokage's orders are encompassing her presence, do you want me to report your insubordination chūnin?" Kaname growled.

"... Please enter…" he bowed his head letting them through.

"Kana-chan it's not nice to lie about your leader orders" Mikoto whispered.

"Don't worry Jiji owes me one... or two, hmm, he owes me too much to even care" Kaname replied with a smile.

They loudly entered the conference room making everyone inside turn their heads towards them.

"I'm sorry for being late, duty called" Kaname announced loudly, scanning the room she noticed her brother standing next to a beautiful brunette lady holding hands. Umino had a beautiful symmetric face and calm deep blue eyes. She had a perfect body while remaining slim, long dark brown hair reached stopped just above her h.i.p.s.

(AN: Think of Miyuki Shiba from Mahouka Kouko no Rettousei, but with brunette hair)

"Aunty, go to Fugaku-sama and watch the spectacle, I got orders from the Hokage." she whispered.

Kaname made her way straight to her brother walking right through the middle of the chamber, crossing it just in front of Tetsuzan by a couple of steps, the act happily made his eyebrow twitch.

"Hello Umino-san, I heard a lot about you from this stupid brother of mine" Kaname greeted the woman with a smile.

"Heh, nice to meet you, you must be Kaname-chan I heard about-" the woman replied.

"*Shh* Not now you troublesome duo, the entire chamber is waiting for you two" Ryuichi interrupted them.

"Aniki, I got orders from Hokage-sama, I'm to stop the clan from taking any bad moves. Okay?" she whispered sitting on the bench next to him.

"*Sigh* You understand that this old fool has got a lot of backing?"

"I doubt he has got more than I have with Hokage behind my back" she answered.

"Okay, do what you must, I will stand beside you"

Kaname looked at the old man staring at her, "I'm sorry Tetsuzan-sama, please don't mind us and continue"

"...As I was saying, we must take action. Our clan is looked down upon the majority of Konoha population-"

"*Achoo*!" Kaname loudly sneezed.

"..." Tetsuzan stared at her, Kaname waved her hand to show him to not mind her, "... Uchiha clan is in possession of the greatest weapon. With our clan leader's help, we can take over Konoha and institute ourselves as rule-"

"*Achoo* Ah sorry Tetsuzan-sama, I'm allergic to idiocy. Please continue" He was visibly fuming at her. Kaname's comment was met with half the chamber snorting at her joke.

"*Growl* Fugaku-sama's Sharingan should be able to take control of the demon Kyubi, letting us overpower any opposition-"

"*Achoo*!"

"Young lady, we all know you are Hokage's lapdog, if you don't want to listen to my words please leave the meeting" Tetsuzan reprimanded her.

"*Achoo!* Sorry Tetsuzan-sama the idiocy is still somewhere in the air. Do you want to say, that each ninja here is not under orders of the leader of this village? I mean it's treason, I wouldn't imagine that our great clan would muster such a cowardly move"

"*Growl*"

"Let her talk!" Fugaku ordered with a smile on his face.

"Thank you Fugaku-sama. I had enough of this bullshit" she bowed her head, moving next to Tetsuzan.

"Firstly, our clan is not looked down upon, it's just you and a couple of other old fossils that people loath. Secondly, you want to use my little brother without my or his permission"

"We don't need one, we can just put him under genj-"

"Did any of you study the Kyubi's seal? No? Then shut up! Even if you somehow put both Naruto and Kyubi under genjutsu you won't be able to let the Biju out of his prison. What's more, I would plow through the traitors in this clan before any single one of you tried to do that." Kaname growled out.

"Kaname-chan, calm down" Umino calmed her down.

"Sorry about that, so let's summarize your amazing plan Tetsuzan. Firstly you want to take control of the Kyubi, hoping that with some kind of miracle it will break through one of the best seals ever devised. Then with the Nine-Tails help, you want to carry out the coup d\'etat massacring the Konoha population and its leadership, with the destruction of a Major Hidden Village you would invoke another war. While the world bleeds itself out… again, Fugaku-sama would have to stay concentrated day and night to hold the beast under genjutsu, with his momentary lapse of concentration, Kyubi would start a bloodbath of our clan and any survivors left in Konoha. And it is just because someone looked at you wrongly, which truly happens all the time because you are a pompous old fool. Hmm, did I miss something in your treacherous plan?" Kaname heard a sweet snort coming from her brother's girlfriend.

"Thank you Kaname-san for your input. The meeting is adjourned, everyone leave!" Fugaku ordered.

"Hehe, that was amazing Kaname-chan, I did not like this old-man from the moment I saw him the first time thirteen years ago. You smashed him"

"Thanks, Umino-"

"My friends call me Umi-chan. I never heard you had a younger brother Ryuichi."

"Yeah Naruto-kun is a child I was made to adopt, I'm his step-sister. So Umi-chan, if my stupid brother does something bad just give me info, we will work something out. And call me Kana-chan"

"Oh, so that's why Ryuichi said you are a young mother!" Ryuichi started sweating "How nice, I heard about your pranking methods Kana-chan, I always wanted to join in on the fun, but being civilian it was hard to catch you"

"Hey don't talk like I'm not even here" Ryuichi grumbled.

"Meh, she is too good for you. And don't worry Aniki, the revenge will be swift and painful" Kaname promised.

"Kaname-chan" Fugaku called her.

"Sorry, you should go home, I'm not sure how much time it will take" Kaname waved them goodbyes.

"Bye Kana-chan!" Umino retreated with tired Ryuichi.

"Kaname-chan, are you sure it was the right decision, Tetsuzan-sama holds a special place in our clan"

"Fugaku-sama it depends on what are you asking. If you want to know if his plan would work out, then the answer is a simple no, So I do not feel bad saving hundreds of Uchiha clan members from an impossible endeavor. And no, I didn't want to offend him, but he wanted to kill my little brother just for his gains, I found that… appalling"

"Hmm, I understand, please inform Hokage that Uchiha clan will always stay under Konoha's leadership. One more thing Kaname-chan, Tetsuzan-sama was right about the population looking at us suspiciously, could someone release the information about the attack to the public?"

"Fugaku-sama, there is one easy suspect in my mind right now"

"Son of a-"

"I will report everything to Hokage-sama, now can I meet Itachi-chan, I came here mostly to deliver a message"

"Follow me"

"I saw you let him join in on the meeting, isn't he too young?" Kaname asked.

"He is smarter than most for his age, and politics only induce headache, as a future clan leader I want him to learn a thing or two" Fugaku explained opening the common room doors.

"Hi Onee-san! What's up? Nice performance out there."

"Thanks Itachi-chan" she tousled his hair, "I came here with a message from Jiji, he accepted your graduation, he will pull some strings to let you join the best Anbu team we have in Konoha"

"He did?" Mikoto asked.

"Heh, my son is a genius" Fugaku replied happily.

"Hmm"

"What's up with this emotionless reaction Itachi-chan?" Kaname asked the young teen.

"Heh, I don't want to jump like a kid in front of my parents. I will wait for when I'm alone" Itachi replied.

"Oh, you want to say you are not a kid?" Kaname flicked his forehead.

"Ouch, why are you always doing that?"

"Because I feel like doing it, deal with it tike" she replied with a smirk.

"I need to go meet with Hokage, see you later"

"Bye!" the family waved her back.

Kaname slowly made her way towards the Hokage's office, on the way she walked through Aburame district, in front of her on a small forest cleaning she noticed her former student Torune shielding a boy Naruto's age before a man with Anbu mask.

"For f.u.c.k's sake, let this day end..." Kaname murmured.

She flickered towards the trio to listen up on their conversation.

"So you say you will join us willingly if we let Shino-kun alone?" the masked man asked.

"Yes," Torune replied.

"Hmm interesting, Danzo-sama have you heard his offer?" he was talking to a hidden microphone.

"I understand Danzo-sama" the man turned his head back towards two boys, to his confusion Torune's body instantly relaxed.

"Eh?" masked man felt someone touched his jaw, not a second, and a loud crack later it was hanging down unhinged. A direct strike to the back of his head and he was down for the count.

Kaname took the mask into her hand "A little traitor spy get. Prepare your anus Danzo, I will shove a fireball jutsu so deep up there, you will turn into a f.u.c.k.i.n.g light bulb", unfortunately, she wasn't met with a response.

"You two, are you okay?" she asked after crushing the mask in her hand.

"Thanks Kaname-sensei" Torune replied.

"No problem, go to your home. I need to bring this Root agent to Hokage-sama"

'Hmm, where did they hide the poison capsule, whatever without his jaw he won't be able to break it' she took her captive by his nape and started flickering towards the Hokage's office.

'Shit, we won't get through the window together, whatever he will finish in T&I chamber either way' she threw him into the office.

"Hey Jiji!"

"What the heck Kana-chan?"

"Have you seen an unconscious man flying somewhere around here?"

"Why did you threw a man into my office?"

"I found myself a little Root spy, what's more, he is alive"

"*Sigh* Even more paperwork, he landed somewhere in this pile of papers"

"Oh, here he is. I'm sorry, I broke his jaw - safety reasons, I did not want another fiasco like last time" Kaname answered pulling a man out by his blonde hair.

"Kana-chan, I will order immediate hunt for Danzo, but I need proofs that this person belongs to Root"

"Is tongue-tattoo enough? He has one" Kaname replied.

"It's a good start, we will bring Yamanaka to get solid proofs, good job Kana-chan. Either way, you pretty much doubled my work now…"

"Don't be so hasty Jiji"

"Hm?"

"Some members of my clan prepared a coup"

"For the love of-"

"Don't worry I dissuaded them from it, Fugaku-sama promised that Uchiha clan will never oppose your leadership"

"I have got a headache because of you Kana-chan"

"Tough luck Jiji, haha"

"Oh really? You know what, you can help me. As you know we suffer the lack of jōnins in Konoha, so I would like to order, I mean to ask you to take one of the next batches of academy recruits"

"I'm just a tokubetsū jōnin I can't take students"

"Shit, you are right. Congratulations on your promotion Kana-chan" he replied with a smirk.

"Let this shitty day end already…"
