Uchiha's Butterfly

The disappearance of the winner of the fight and the arrival of Kaname invoked small chaos across the stadium. Many ninjas jumped down to the arena, trying to find and apprehend the girl that broke the rules attacking Genma and striking her opponent when the match finished.

"Hey, you!" Kaname pointed at the closest chūnin that did not understand the situation that he found himself in.

"Yes, Kaname-san?" asked the sixteen-year-old boy with a bandana like a protector and sunglasses on his nose.

"Ebizu, right? Don't just stand there, be useful for something for f.u.c.k's sake! Bring the stretcher!" she ordered, temporarily slowing the hemorrhaging and death of her student.

"My name is-" Kaname's red glowing eyes snapped back at him, he understood that he is walking on eggshells, "- On my way Kaname-san!"

"Kaname-sama, you are asked to report to Hokage-sama" Anbu stood next to her, "I see you have more important things to deal with, Hokage-sama and Kazekage-sama can wait"

"Thanks, Kuma-san" [TL. Bear] Kaname carefully took Izumi's mangled body up, and put it back on a stretcher, "I will be there as soon as possible. Say, if you could make Kazekage go back to his country I would be glad. I don't trust myself right now. If he spouts some bullshit - I don't know what I would do" she replied, keeping her most powerful medic skills ablaze, and Izumi's life on a thin thread.

"The p.l.e.a.s.u.r.es of being a ninja... Sayonara Kaname-san, and good luck with your student" the bear masked Anbu flickered away.

"Kana-chan!" she was called out on the way out of the arena.

"Doofus-kun, how is Genma?"

"Both t.h.i.g.hbones are broken, he will live, but he won't be able to walk in foreseeable future. Izumi-chan?" Kakashi asked worriedly

"A very deep cut on the neck, she is unable to breathe, her heart got damaged, but is still beating, one of her lungs collapsed, both of them are full of her blood due to hemorrhaging, they stopped pumping oxygen. I can't leave Izumi-chan, can you bring my mom here? I need someone experienced, not those quacks"

"Sure"

'As always I was too slow! I shouldn't allow this fight even to happen!' Kaname was angry, mostly at herself.

The medic corps stood couple stand away from her, scared to earn her ire.

"You!" She turned her eyes to a young woman standing closest to her.

"EEK!"

"Bring blood AB-, I hope you have medical equipment here, on the double!"

"Ye-Yes Kaname-sama"

Two minutes later her help arrived at last, "Little Butterfly! You did splendidly keeping Izumi-chan alive. Let's see…" the older Uchiha checked all the wounds, "Damnit, we don't have much time, ready?"

"I prepared the blood, you take care of the lung, I take care of the windpipe?"

"On my signal Butterfly, go!"

Other medics only watched the spectacle, when Kaname stopped holding the blood back it started spurting in large quantities from the young girl. Soon the makeshift operating table was flooding with life-sustaining liquid, "The lung is clear, bring us more blood" Sachi without even looking at other medics, ordered the medics.

"How is Izumi-chan?" the old man asked.

"For a moment it was touch and go Jiji. She will walk it off, my mom will keep her in hospital for six months or so. Say Jiji, I just met the receptionist on the lowest level, did I do something to her she was staring weirdly at me."

"An older woman, brown hair, mean toady face, rather rounded?" Hokage asked, "She is a civilian, she was hired by Civilian Council to help with their paperwork"

"Ah! So typically foolish, hating me for adopting Naru-chan? Sorry that I came so late, I had a lot of work to do about today's event"

"I'm willing to put a bounty on-"

"Don't bother about that Jiji, it isn't the girl we are looking for, you may have not seen, but from the first seat I figure that some kind of advanced henge was in the play"

"*Sigh* The day is getting better and better… Thanks for the info Kana-chan" Hokage massaged his forehead.

"Hmm? Something else happened Jiji?"

"Excluding that almost half of the genins landed in a hospital? And that two of Konoha sworn enemies are in alliance?" he asked sarcastically, "I received your report from Pakura-kun, personally, right in front of Rasa-kun… She completely ignored him. Let me just say, he wasn't happy at this turn of events"

"Did he do something?" Kaname questioned raising her eyebrows.

"Not much, Rasa-kun ordered me to hand the traitor over, I declined, but…" old-man slumped in his chair, "*Sigh* I'm worried Kana-chan. The peace on our continent is being held by the power equality between the great villages. Kumogakure always was the same strength as Konoha, while Suna always was a little weaker than Iwa, but the equilibrium was held thanks to the support of the many smaller Hidden Villages allied to Konoha"

"And what about Mizugakure?"

"Mizu? It always was a wild card. While powerful in their own right, now they are being held back by the civil war. If Sunagakure leaves our alliance, the war could soon follow. Old Onoki hates all of the other villages, but because of Madara, he hates Konoha twice as any other. And A-kun would love to see their main rivals crushed. *Sigh* So much work…"

"Ah, Paku-chan may have forgotten, I unintentionally may have created a tiny mini volcano close to the Valley of the End" Kaname truthfully admitted, using her fingers to show how small it was.

"I'm sorry, what?"

"Exactly what I said Jiji"

"Nope, I'm so old that I did not hear you Kana-chan, nor I care that half of the country sent me news about smoke coming from the north. If anyone asks, the volcano just spontaneously sprouted out"

"Sure… So, do you need help with the bureaucracy Jiji?"

"Hmm? It seems the trip worked wonders for you Kana-chan. Your eyes aren't as misty as before"

"Don't misunderstand, I'm angry mostly at myself, but this time it's because of what happened today. Paku-chan and Anko-chan have the most unconventional methods of amusing me" Kaname took the first doc.u.ment and sorted it to the "Anko approved" stack.

"Hmm? Kana-chan, and what were you going to do in terms of today's events?"

"I do not know, stop the fight before it deteriorated to a freaking deathmatch?"

"I'm glad you didn't. It was Izumi-chan's fight, true, she barely survived it. But what doesn't kill you, makes you only stronger Kana-chan"

"You know that is not true Jiji"

"It is, in most cases. What do you think would Izumi-chan feel if you stopped her duel? It would look like you did not believe in her"

'Is that so easy? Is that why I unintentionally stopped myself?' Kaname thought to herself.

"I said it before, you are an amazing teacher and role model for the kids Kana-chan. Believe in yourself more. Now, you saw Izumi-chan's fight, do you feel she is ready for the promotion? She is the only one that put up a decent fight against this… opponent"

"Thanks. I will ask her what she wants when she wakes up from the drug-induced coma, is that okay?"

"Yes, now you did say that the two of your friends have some amazing methods of entertainment? I feel I could use their help."

"Hahaha, yeah, well. You would most likely like their means Jiji. But I doubt they would agree to your request."

"Hmm? It never does hurt to ask"

"*Pft* Yeah, this time it might Jiji, still I wish you luck"

"Now, you got me interested Kana-chan."

"Let's change the topic Jiji, what we should do about the snake and mummy?" Kaname asked seriously.

Knowing from her mother that Naruto was spending time with Mikoto and her youngest son, Kaname made her way towards the Uchiha district.

"So? What is going on with them aunty?"

"Haha, no they did not fight between themselves Kana-chan. I know what it looks like, but both of them stood up against some older bullies"

"Naru-chan, Sasuke-chan, come here" Kaname called to the kids playing ninja, "And? Do you want to explain to me why each of you has a black eye?"

"Hehe" Naruto laughed showing a smile from one ear to the other, "we found ten bullies, mocking Hina-chan-"

"There were only three, dobe" Sasuke interrupted him. [Tl. Dobe - loser, dead last, etc.]

"Not now, teme. They were like two meters tall (6'6'')-" [Tl. Teme - Bastard, insane, etc.]

"Were we in two different places dobe? They were second-year academy students, three years older than us!"

"Grah! Do not mind the details! Both of us found the bullying of Hina-chan... how to say it?~dattebayo"

"You can use the word unacceptable Naru-chan"

"Thanks, Sis! Both of us found the bullying of Hina-chan unacceptble ...*guh*" the boy cutely bit his tongue.

"*Sigh* Let me take care of this dobe" Sasuke took the conversation over, "They were mocking Hinata-chan because of her Byakugan, they thought her blind. Three boys versus one much younger girl in a dark alley, I and dobe just acted on impulse Nee-san"

"Hmm, Sasuke-chan, do you know why did Hina-chan walk out alone from the Hyuga district?"

"Not exactly alone Nee-san, her guardian approached us after the events. Where was he before? I do not know"

"I'm sorry Sis, don't hide my stocked ramen" Naruto pleaded looking at her.

"Hmm, one last question. Did you win the fight?" she asked the boys.

"Hehe, who do you take us-" Naruto laughed out loudly.

"We lost Nee-san, we were able to defeat only two out of three bullies, they were older, faster and much stronger than us"

[AN: Before anyone starts booing at this - both Naruto and Sasuke got trained earlier than a standard Konoha academy student, still they're much younger than their opponents. Both of them had a headstart, but their muscles aren't as developed as 9 years old that also received training, but from the academy]

"Hey!" Naruto shouted at his black-haired friend.

"Zip it, dobe"

"Pity, now for your punishment, as I am a little irked at the moment..." Kaname smiled evilly, eliciting the reaction from the boys "I will teach each one of you a single D-rank jutsu of your choosing, so the situation does not repeat itself"

"See, I told you so! Sis is the best! ~dattebayo"

"Heh" Sasuke smirked.

"Sis, I want you to teach me the Rasengan! ~ttebayo"

"It's A-rank Naru-chan, above your punishment limit"

"Then, Shadow Clones!"

"B-rank, don't you worry I have a plan for you Naru-chan. And what about you Sasuke-chan?"

"Hmm, once I saw Onii-san throwing two shurikens at the same time, where one was hidden in the shadow of the other"

"Ah, <Kage Shuriken no Jutsu> [tl. Shadow Shuriken Technique]. Sure, it's a D-rank. Aunty come meet me tomorrow, I will prepare some training for Sasuke-chan"

"I will. See you later Kana-chan, Naru-chan"

"Bye" she replied.

"Bye-bye Aunty, ...Teme" he waved towards the Uchiha matriarch and nodded at Sasuke

"Dobe" Sasuke replied in the exact same way.

"Next duel is mine! ~ttebayo" Naruto shouted out running off to follow Kaname.

"*Sigh* You can wish, Naruto" Sasuke murmured.

Leaving the Uchiha district Kaname led her little brother home, getting an idea she asked, "How was Hina-chan after the event?"

"She got even funnier, but Aunty Shiori laughed it off"

"What do you mean Naru-chan?"

"Every time Hina looks at me her face goes into beetroot color. I got worried the first time and checked if she had a fever ~ttebayo. Aunty said that was an amazing move from my side, putting my hand on top of Hina's forehead I completely shut her down, whatever it meant."

"Nee-san!" a boy's voice called her out running towards the duo.

"Oh, Itachi-kun. How can I help you?"

"How is Izumi-chan? I tried to visit her in the hospital, but-"

"She will be okay Itachi-kun, she is under intensive care. We can't let anybody enter her room, she lost a lot of blood, her immune system underwent a massive hit. We need to keep her isolated for a couple of days"

"Her enemy was from Ame right?"

"Yes and no. Itachi-kun, before you get swallowed by emotions and do something stupid, there is something we need to talk about. We're almost at my home, come, I will prepare some tea, it should help you calm down"

Five minutes later both of them sat in front of each other on comfy sofas.

"Yeah, I know you don't want me to hunt down this Hermione" Itachi started slowly sipping the hot tea.

"Nah, you can try Itachi-kun"

"Wait, what?"

"You will not find the girl, ever, she does not exist" Kaname explained.

"Nee-san, you mean she was henged into somebody? Henge would get exposed the moment she entered the first exams!"

"Truthfully? I don't know what I saw, it wasn't your normal Henge Itachi-kun. The 'girl'-" Kaname made quotes sign with her hands, "-had access to skills that did not use any chakra, who knows what other secrets she holds. I had the first-row seat, the girl's face started boiling, changed the shape of her nose, the tips of her hair started darkening, her height slowly started growing. Then with a swish of her hand, she evaporated"

"*Sigh*... Okay, so what now Nee-san? Knowing you I'm pretty sure you wouldn't let that go"

"For now, we prepare Itachi-kun. She left me with words that we will see each other again, and I'm going to plan some defense"

"Can I help?"

"I spoke with Jiji, he is agreeing with me. We are sure that people are scheming behind Konoha's back, we know two of our enemies now, but there may be more. The movements on our borders halted, half of our imports are being raided by bandits and mercenaries. Seeing this Hermione, I and Hokage don't have any doubt that she knows what is going on. Do you know who took Shisui-kun's eye?"

"Hmm?"

"I believe I can trust you with this, up north I found a sizeable group of ninja led by Root. So, if you see that receding hair-line of that mummy-bastard, firstly retreat. Don't let him use Kotoamatsukami on you, we both know that this c.o.c.kroach is willing to do anything to accomplish his targets"

"Can't we just hunt down all the bandits?"

"We could, but the bandits aren't the problem Itachi-kun, the biggest thorn in our side are the hidden shinobi forces of our enemies waiting for the signal for the attack, like the group I dealt with yesterday. With an executioner ax above our necks, Hokage can't send a sizeable force outside of Konoha on a wild-goose chase and leave the village defenseless."

"I see, what do you need me for Nee-san?"

"Nothing you wouldn't do without me, I want you to protect Uchiha clan. I will try to mediate with other high-ranked members of each of Konoha clans, let them know that something is brewing. I have the weirdest feeling that this Hermione was targeting me especially"

"Knowing your luck Nee-san? You will have half of the Elemental Nations after your head"

"*Sigh*... That's one hell of a way to reassure a woman, good job Itachi-kun. Now, if I remember right someone requested personal tutoring from his big sister? Get up, a day without kicking someone's a.s.s is a day lost in my books" she replied smiling at him.

"*Tsk*" Itachi clicked his tongue, "I talk too much…" and followed her to the training grounds.

Thirty minutes later Kaname was sitting upon Itachi's back, "One hundred,... and fifty-six!" Itachi counted the pump-ups.

"So what did you learn today Itachi-chan?" Kaname asked nonchalantly honing her fingernails.

"You're a demon Nee-san. One-hundred and fifty-...seven!"

"What. Did. You. Learn?"

"You can't catch someone in a genjutsu if you're head deep into multiple illusions already"

"Yes, your Tsukuyomi is extremely powerful, but you need to catch someone's sight for it to work, there are other ways to catch someone in genjutsu that are much faster. What else?"

"... and fifty-eight! Amaterasu works on everybody else, but not you Nee-san"

*Flick*

"Wrong, you can't catch someone in Amaterasu if they're faster than your eyes, I know some people that would be able to knock you out as quickly as me, or even faster" Kaname explained, 'Like Guy, damn, with sixth gate open I can only try to predict his punches, the youthful duo are the real freaks…'

"*Sigh* There are more monsters like you Nee-san?... fifty-nine!"

"So what else did you learn Itachi-chan?"

"There was nothing else"

*Flick*

"Stop that!"

Kaname flicked his forehead again and again.

"Okay! I will learn to use every jutsu without seals!" the boy replied hurt.

"And no shouting out which jutsu you apply, do not help your enemy knowing what will you do next."

"... I will try..."

"So why did you stop pumping? You have 141 reps to the finish"

"Guh, give me a break Nee-san"

"Hmm… No, one hundred and sixty!" with a clap of her hands she announced a new rhythm for Itachi's punishment.

Eight months later Kaname was getting ready for her birthday party, her living room was decorated with white balloons, big red letters 'Happy Birthday' that Naruto cut out from cardboard. Each time she tried to enter her kitchen, she was hurriedly led out by her mother, Mikoto, or like this time, her brother's girlfriend.

"Oh come on Umi-chan. I know you're baking a cake for me, I can smell it from here"

"Not telling! I was ordered to keep you out of the kitchen, that's that, no entry for you Kana-chan!"

They were interrupted by a loud laugh coming from their left "Haha, I won again Ryu-nii, pay up!" Naruto stretched out his hand to receive his reward.

"Damnit! Little Squirt, did you teach your brat to play poker? He is seven for gods sake!" Ryuichi presented two instant ramen bowls to Naruto.

"Haha, a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e doing business with you Ryu-nii!" sweeping his gifts under the table, the boy launched himself to hide them somewhere in his room.

"Aniki, I heard a nice proverb. The blind man doesn't play cards. I didn't teach Naru-chan much, just a dose of handy tricks"

"You mean?" Umino asked.

"He cheated, hahaha" Kaname laughed at her older brother.

"*Sigh*... That's… so like his mo- *Cough* I mean sister! That's so much like his sister!"

"Hmm, did you want to say something Aniki? And he is almost eight, he will go to the academy with the next batch of-"

*Knock-knock-knock*

The hasty knocking stopped their conversation, opening the front doors Kaname noticed an Anbu with short-brown hair.

"Hi, Woody-boy! What can I help you with? The party for friends is tomorrow" she greeted.

Slumping his head and arms, he replied "*Sigh* At least call me Tenzo, Kaname-san"

"Yeah, I will think about that Woody-boy. So?"

"Hokage-sama asks if you have some time for small talk"

"Hmm, sure. Mom, I will be back in an hour… Don't start without me!" she shouted to the empty corridor, and left the house.

"What's up Jiji?" Kaname asked after entering his office through the window.

"Ah, Kana-chan! Anbu, leave us. No one enters or interrupts us until I say so" he commanded.

"*Phew* You still do not know who is the mole Jiji?"

"I have no clue, so, how did it go Kana-chan?"

"Itachi-kun was able to use Kotoamatsukami, the crisis was averted" Kaname reported.

"And the Uchiha Clan?" old-man asked worriedly.

"A little disoriented, but they will work it out. It's good we noticed it so quickly, who knew that Danzo would aim at Fugaku-san?"

"His plan had some valid points, convert one of the clan leaders into a marionette and launch a civil war inside the village"

"But?" she asked.

"Correct me if I'm wrong Kana-chan, it was classified that we had the Shisui's eye, but I doubt Danzo wouldn't know this secret or at least expected it. Why would he use his once a decade overpowered mind-altering jutsu on such insanely negligible chances of success? Anbu are on highest alert the last three weeks with no sign of the enemy, I feel he played us out"

"Maybe so Jiji, but he left us no choice, Fugaku-san already started calling out for a rebellion… I know Fugaku-san for a couple of years, I just couldn't withstand to look at the family tragedy that was happening, Kotoamatsukami made him strike his wife and Sasuke-chan. To this day Aunty has bruises across her body from shielding her child. I barely contained myself from going and dealing with Fugaku-san once and for all, I stopped just because I knew he wasn't controlling his actions"

"I'm truly sorry you had to see that Kana-chan"

"Nah, it wasn't your fault Jiji"

"So to the next topic, unfortunately, as you can see the doc.u.ments are overflowing in the office, I won't be able to join you for today's party, maybe tomorrow"

"Heh, you would fit there nicely, it's for my friends, and as Duy-san would call it: your spirit is youthful!" Kaname replied pretending Duy's speech.

"YOOOUUUTH!!" Both of them heard a yell of confirmation coming from the other side of Konoha.

"Hoho" Sarutobi laughed, smiling in gratefulness, "I will be there, I promise Kana-chan"

"Prepare some comfy shoes, Jiji. We're going to the club"

"Guh. I'm too old to dance Kana-chan"

"Hee~ What? Will you decline if I ask you for a dance?" she asked.

"Damnit! Biwako-chan always used the same line against me… We shall see tomorrow, Kana-chan"

"Hokage-sama!" the voice called from behind the doors.

"*Sigh* And here go my orders of no interrupting us… Enter!" he commanded.

Anbu entered the office, "We received a message from the jōnin Hiashi-san, em, Hizashi-san… One of the Hyūga siblings. Shiori Hyūga collapsed, for the last twenty minutes they're unable to wake her up" he reported.

"I'm going Jiji, and it was Hizashi-san, his brother wouldn't leave his wife's side in a ninth month of pregnancy"

"A day of rest doesn't exist even for you?... Go Kana-chan" he nodded to her.

Hopping out of the window, Kaname directed herself towards the Byakugan users district. Skirting around the security, she entered her aunty's house. Once inside she made her way to the living room, through the closed doors she heard somebody speaking.

"I repeat Shiori-sama, we need to stop the pregnancy, you're weak as is" the gruff voice said.

Kaname entered at this exact moment.

"Yeah, good idea. Just gut her open, maybe she will live. Hi aunty, I heard you were calling for me"

"Hi, Kana-chan" the woman weakly replied.

"Elder-san, leave us for a moment" Kaname ordered the older man.

"I don't think so, I'm the main physician in our clan. You can't just-"

"Now, please. Or if you would like I could ask Hiashi-sama to have a talk with you?" Kaname's eyes glowed red, with the unspoken animosity the man left.

She walked towards the woman, checked her pulse, and other important signs.

"So? How bad it is Kana-chan?" Shiori asked.

"It feels like something is siphoning the chakra out of your body at an alarming rate, why did you not call for me or my mom before?"

"The Hyugas have this stupid tradition of… *breath* isolationism, Kana-chan. The reason that the hospital doesn't receive any Hyugas is that we have our medics. *breath* And? What is wrong with me? I saw your face grimacing"

"You will live, do you want to know first or should I look for Hiashi-san?" Kaname questioned.

"Just… tell me, what you know"

"Without professional help, after the labor, you will die in two to three weeks. There is an active chakra tumor, it slowly kills you. I can eradicate it, but we will need to wait for Hanabi-chan to be born. That's the reason for your temporary weakening, now for the bad part. Aunty, I'm sorry, you will not have any more children."

"*Sigh* I understand Kana-chan, but will Hanabi be alright? Did anything happen to my Little Firecracker?" [Hanabi - tl. Fireworks]

"She is perfectly healthy"

"Then everything else is irrelevant. What now Kana-chan?" the woman asked weakly.

"Now, I'm taking you away to the hospital, any day now our Firecracker will be born"

"I understand, call Hiashi-kun in please, I will explain everything myself"

"I will send a medic team to escort you. See you later aunty"

"Kana-chan, wait… I'm not sure we will see each other anytime soon, Happy Birthday"

"Thanks, aunty, as for the gift I expect a very cute baby for me to pamper"

"You will be in the top three people, I will introduce to Hanabi first… Have fun, Kana-chan"

Coming back home and opening the living room doors, Kaname noticed her family talking happily between themselves. Her mother was explaining something to Mikoto and Umino with a cookbook in hand, Naruto and Ryuichi were petting Hamimaru on the underbelly, laughing as the ninken was rolling around the floor.

"At last, go change clothes Butterfly, we have a surprise guest for you" her mother called out to her.

"Mom, will you keep him or her in a closet until I go upstairs? On the market I found new kind of slacks, I will need your input, be right back"

Three minutes later Kaname wore her favorite light, airy white shirt held by thin straps on her arms, and blue jeans that accentuated her legs, she let her hair flow freely behind her back. With a last nod to the mirror, Kaname walked back down to her family.

"Hmm, Kana-chan, what is this made of?" Umino walked towards her and examined the material of her new trousers, "They look… sensual on you"

"I do not know Umi-chan. I found a merchant from Ame yesterday, such pieces are flooding their market, it was only a matter of time until they turn up in Konoha"

"Are they comfy? I like the style"

"Not as comfy as a skirt or dress pants, they don't allow the same range of movements" Kaname replied.

"Mikoto-chan, bring her in" Sachi spoke to her student.

Half a minute later from the kitchen Izumi entered, in her hands were two crutches helping her keep herself standing.

"Hehe, surprise sensei!" she laughed.

"Hi, truly I did not expect you were let out of the hospital" she hugged the girl.

"Ouch, ouch. Not so strongly!" Izumi complained.

"Izumi-chan wanted to attend the party, so I pulled some strings" her mother explained.

"Thanks, mom"

Umino was still examining Kaname's behind.

With a small laugh, Kaname interrupted her "Umi-chan, if you want to look at someone's booty you have your own boyfriend's to consume"

"Ah! Ehm, sorry Kana-chan." Umino caught herself starring at Kaname, "I mean I really like those trousers, they should be very popular for civilians. Shouldn't the obstruction in mobility be a major point against them for shinobis?"

"Yeah, they are much heavier than their dress counterpart as well. But at least until I and Aniki aren't drunk enough to compete against each other again I don't expect any fight happening this night Umi-chan"

At this exact moment, Murphy's Law struck. Throughout the Konoha rang out more than eighty explosions killing everyone unlucky enough to stand to close to one of them, Kaname's house trembled in its foundations from the closeby blast, making everyone still standing - lose their ground from under their feet. The night, later known as Slaughter in Konoha, has come.
