Golems were essentially statues with close to no details in their bodies. They had thick limbs and a square faces, so it was only obvious that they looked incredibly tough to kill. Nevertheless, the creatures had some sort of core in their faces that also looked like an eye, so Jake was certain that hitting them there would cause tons of damage. Unfortunately, before he could do any of that, the monsters pointed their arms toward Jake and then fired some Stone Bullets. Armed with only his claymore and with the girls behind him, Jake ended up blocking some projectiles with his sword, but some others hit his shoulders and legs. The damage could have gotten worse if Lana hadn't used Barrier sooner.

When the monsters finally stopped attacking, Jake dashed toward them. The creatures would have a hard time aiming if he gets too close, since they are big and heavy, after all. Still, when Jake entered his range, he saw the massive limbs of the creatures being swung toward his face, and he felt a lot of pressure. In the best-case scenario, a single hit in the head will knock him down senseless… in the best case scenario. Regardless, Jake jumped and dodged the first strike before he could get hit and then used Bash to swing his claymore at the first target. While he aimed for the monster's core, Jake's attack didn't even make a single crack in it, even though he made the beast lose fifty points of health.

Before Jake could land or try to attack again, another golem approached and tried to smash him. Still, an oversized Fireball hit the monster's head from behind. It made the creature stagger with the explosion, not to mention the head of the creature also began to melt a little bit.

In any case, Jake used that chance to retreat since he couldn't let the creatures surround him. Naturally, the monsters wouldn't just watch and try to smash him again. Still, Jake opened his path forcefully by using Mana Blade on their faces. The monsters were caught off-guard, so each attack made them stagger as well as caused one hundred points of damage.

"They sure are sturdy… to think that only five Mana Blades would be enough to stop them…" Jake furrowed his eyebrows. "Well, let's just get used to fighting like this for the time being."

Jake ran around the monsters in order to find the best opening, and when he could see the melted head of the beast, he dashed yet again at that creature. The golem noticed and tried to attack Jake, but another Fireball stopped the creature leaving it wide open. Jake jumped and clenched his teeth to attack with all his might, and this time, his sword didn't find much resistance on the monster's head.

The monster fell dead, but that gave a chance to the other monsters to position themselves and attack Jake at the same time. While it didn't work completely, Jake deflected their attacks by using Cyclone Strike. His hands began to hurt like hell, but it was better than getting his head smashed.

Before the monsters could try again, the temperature of the area suddenly grew colder, and the bodies of the golems suddenly got moisture. While their movements became faster, Jake could tell that they also became weaker to physical attacks. It was pretty surprising that Louise's spell could work so fast and not affect Jake at the same time… When the monsters tried to attack, Jake blocked the attack of one with his sword and pierced the arm pretty deeply. As for the other, he was protected by Lana's barrier. In the end, Jake jumped to hit the monsters' heads at the same time, and he did so with two consecutive Cyclone Strikes and destroyed their cores.

"This fight was a bit complicated, huh," Lana said. "I guess we are lucky that we have around sixty hours to complete this quest."

"Sorry, Jake," Louise said. "Using Cold Winds takes too much of my mana, so I won't be able to use it in every fight."

"That is fine, I have another idea in how to deal with those golems," Jake said.

It didn't take long for the next group of golems to appear, but Jake had enough time to do some tests. Before they could attack him, Jake dashed toward them and swung his sword with all his might. This time, his attack not only pierced the arms of one of the golems even more deeply than before, but it also made the monster grunt in pain. It was all thanks to the fact that Jake enchanted his sword with Flames of Wrath. In just a single minute, that was the time of rest between this and the previous battle. He confirmed that he could do that without damaging his sword. However, he needed to keep a clear image of the flames around his sword, and that required a lot of focus.

Nevertheless, the monster retreated for a little bit, and another one approached to attack Jake. Louise hit the left side of the monster's head, and then Jake used that chance to pierce the creature's core with the tip of his claymore enchanted with the dark flames.

Although that worked, even Jake was surprised with the result… the Flames of Wrath were surprisingly powerful despite being at a low level. Still, Jake also had to consider that his strength was also absurdly high.

Before the other two monsters could attack, Jake made his dark flames leave his sword and then fly toward the face of the damaged golem. As expected, the flames caused some damage, but they didn't kill the monster instantly. It began to pierce the core of the creature slowly, but at least it held the creature from attacking him.
