The monster used that strategy several times before it could realize it was useless… Jake kept attacking the top of the monster's head nonstop while causing tons of damage. Until the beast finally moved to a wall and then collided against it, making Jake lose his balance and fall. The blood also had decreased his footing, so it couldn't have been helped…

Jake landed on his feet, but before he could think of anything else, the monster charged at him. At the same time, it made several poison arrows appear behind him. If anything, the beast sure was skilled in making those appear out of nowhere, but Jake knew that it was due to the mist. Nevertheless, he made the beast regret that… Jake blocked the arrows with his shield while he made a wall of dark flames in front of him. The boss collided against it and lost a lot of health while its flesh was turning into dust. Despite that, the flames weren't powerful enough to keep destroying the beast's flesh.

"It wouldn't be fun if it were this easy…" Jake thought.

Instead of charging and hitting the wall of dark flames again, the monster kicked Jake. This time, he was almost caught off guard since the beast was too big to try to stand on a single foot, and its body had that weird shape. Despite that, the kick came like lightning, but Jake was blocked with the shield before he was sent flying for twenty meters. Jake felt his bones cracking, but he still managed to land on his feet.

Before the monster could attack again, Jake quickly used some potions. It was a pain in the ass to be so mindful of all attacks in order to protect the potions in his pockets, but it was better than coming to fight without them. Nevertheless, several poison arrows appeared in front of him. Still, Jake destroyed them with Mana Blades that eventually reached even the boss. Although they lost some power, the creature still grunted in annoyance due to the pain.

Jake grinned in satisfaction, and then he charged at the beast. During that short wind of time, he had a good idea, so he decided to put that plan in motion. When the boss tried to hit him with numerous poison arrows, Jake blocked most of them with his sword and shield before he charged with all his might and hit the enemy with both of them. The creature staggered, and then Jake noticed that it had stopped firing the poison arrows. It couldn't concentrate on that when it was in pain. Jake felt even more eager to put his idea in motion, to the point that he deactivated his buffs and then used all his energy by firing Mana Blades.

While the beast was trembling in pain, Jake used his dark flames to transform and make it spin like a saw. The beast barely recovered in time to see Jake firing the dark saw into its legs. The flames began to eat away the flesh of one of the legs making the beast grunt in agony. In the end, the creature was big and powerful, but its legs weren't that sturdy. One of them was cut off before the flames could disappear… the monster fell to the ground due to the pain and because one of its legs had been severed. The wound was making a lot of blood gush from it, a lot more than it could regenerate.

"Despite all that… it barely has lost half of its health…" Jake thought while furrowing his eyebrows. "I'd better finish this off soon."

Jake wasn't the type to enjoy suffering, not from monsters at least. Perhaps from assholes, yes… Regardless, he dashed toward the enemy and then jumped to the creature's head, or so he tried to make the monster feel like that was his intention. He kicked the beast with all his might and then used that as an impulse to fall toward the remaining leg of the monster. The beast tried to block his path with a poison arrow, but in the end, his sword hit the other leg, and he used the little mana he had recovered to use Explosive Touch. The sword strike opened a decent-sized wound, but it hadn't been enough to completely cut it off.

If he couldn't use mana, Jake could use stamina. So, he used Swarm, Double Strike, and Sonic Thrust… little by little. Those skills caused extra damage that cut half of the remaining leg, but Jake had to move away since the monster managed to focus enough to make the mist move toward him.

"It can do that much even while in pain, huh…" Jake thought.

Although that was a bit annoying, the monster wasn't going anywhere with that kind of wound in the only remaining leg. So, Jake decided to use the momentum in his favor.

When Jake approached again, he frowned when he saw the creature moving its massive head toward him. In the end, the mobster still had that card, and it would be easier to hit Jake. However, he stopped in the last moments and escaped the attack. At the same time, Jake used Swarm several times in a row to damage the head of the monster. He was getting tired of so much blood being splashed on him, but he didn't stop.

The monster managed to protect its remaining leg by using its head like that, but it came at a high cost. The creature thought that the mist would get Jake before he could cause any critical damage, but he had potions to counter that. Not to mention, his mentality and willpower also helped decrease the damage… in the end, Jake really finished off that boss by himself.
