Chapter 4 - 1 (officially starting here)

School was boring. And stupid. It's always been geared towards making people book smart for jobs that rarely hire anybody, and rarely ever have job openings in the first place. Logan didn't really feel like there was an equal chance. Just in life in general. He lived in an average house, with an average dad. His parents split a few years ago. He put an inhuman effort into trying to pass classes and the like, all for the rich jock's family to pay the school for good grades and shit. He kind of blended in at Midtown High. He drifted from place to place within the school, subtly alienating himself to a wandering state. As a result, he knew the basics about just about everybody, but not the deeper stuff.

Logan shook his head slightly to get out of his zoning, focusing back on his teacher, spouting random formulas for algebra and statistics that wouldn't serve anybody except specific careers. The day ended how it usually did, with Logan dragging his shit out of his locker, the only locker that wasn't vandalized and never stuffed with a student. He took the long subway home, letting his backpack drop to the floor of his room. A note on his desk let him know that his dad would be home the next morning. 'Probably out with another random chick. It was Tammy last week, and Sarah the other night. I swear to god if it's a Karen today..." He booted up his computer, sorting through slogs of school emails, reminders for assignments and other meaningless shit. He was seconds from shutting his computer off when his room suddenly went completely dark, save for the light from his computer. He stood up from his desk chair and went towards where he knew his window was only to find a blank wall. He turned back to his computer to find that it was gone too, replaced by a floating screen.

The screen read, in giant white letters, "Welcome to L.S.G., the Life Simulation Game. You've been selected for a premium experience, especially customized for you! Just accept our Terms and Conditions, detailed here (The link would go here), and you can get started in your premium simulation with no extra charges!"

Logan rose an eyebrow. "Dude, I just want my room back." The screen suddenly changed, the letters going red, and the words changing. "Unfortunately, this offer is nonrefusableble and nonrefundable. God inc. is not responsible for bodily harm inflicted in the case of inactivity."

Logan shook his head. "Whatever, just give me my room back." He poked the screen, suddenly solid, and skimmed through the terms and conditions, giving up halfway and accepting it just to get done with it. The instant he accepted, he collapsed on the floor of his restored room.
