Logan g.r.o.a.n.e.d. It was too early for this shit. The constant noise from his system eventually woke him up, but it was 2 hours before his alarm for school was supposed to go off. So he got 2 hours to sort through a million notifications.

He was unsurprised when he discovered that almost everything in the System Shop was absurdly expensive. The most he could afford was a healing potion. Speaking of healing, his cuts were completely gone? A new notice appeared in front of him after he noticed that. "Health, stamina, and Magic levels return to normal following a good night's sleep." He shrugged and took off the bandages from the night before, trashing them immediately and praying his dad didn't find them.

By the time he got to school, his 'Observe' skill was at level 2. During his first class was when he decided to distribute his stat points.

Hiding stat screens behind textbooks is surprisingly easy. When his Dexterity hit 10, he got a new ping.

!NEW! Evasion:

When a target attacks you and you move, you have a 95% chance of success. This skill cannot be leveled.

He shrugged and dismissed the screens, paying attention to class again.

Logan already knew most of what was being talked about, so he didn't really care about any of it. As he was only mildly paying attention, with minimal notes, he felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. He was an unknown, nobody really cared about him, nor did they pay attention to him.

Except for f.u.c.k.i.n.g Flash. Flash made sure to bully all the unknowns. Logan just never stuck around enough to get the attention. Sucks to suck then that Flash transferred into the class and now had a football aimed squarely for the back of his head. He ducked his head behind his textbook at the last second, ducking his head under the ball, and making it bounce off his textbook and back to Flash. He pretended to jump in surprise and turned to look at Flash. He didn't say anything, but literally everyone saw him try to decapitate Logan. Nothing would ever be done about it, but they saw it. Class resumed like nothing happened, except for 2 new pings Logan received.

!NEW! Detect Ill Intent:

When someone wants you dead or something less extreme, you can feel it. Further leveling increases range.

He shrugged. That would be useful later on. He glanced around a bit, hoping nobody saw his obvious move. He sighed in relief before returning his attention. Flash didn't let class be dismissed without attempting a shoulder-check to Logan. Instead, Flash shoulder-checked a metal door frame. Logan suppressed a laugh and left the class, a certain redhead following. Somehow, his dumb a.s.s had never noticed the fact that Mary Jane Watson, drop-dead gorgeous redhead and social butterfly, was in his chemistry class. And redheads were one of his types too! He didn't really have one actually, but redheads tickled Logan Jr. real good. He very suddenly noticed, when his chemistry teacher paired the two up for a week-long project. It took all the measly 5 points in his Charisma stat to function normally. It didn't help that she was really social.

"Hey, so I think I've seen you around, for like 4 years, but you've been kind of on the fence with everybody." She randomly commented in the middle of the both of them copying down formulas and whatnot.

He dignified the comment with a shrug. "The fence is about as far as I get." He ran a hand back through his c.h.e.s.t-length blonde hair, up in a low ponytail at the base of his neck. His glasses rested on the tip of his nose to save his neck from having to bend too much. His black band merch T-shirt, with a large Shinedown (Bomb-ass rock band 10/10 recommend) logo in big letters, rested loosely on him, which was a welcome change from just a few days ago when he was kinda pudgy. "I get sick of having barbed wire up my a.s.s so I leave the fence alone after awhile."

She shrugged. "That's fair, I guess. Why can't you get passed the fence?" She tapped her nails on the edge of her desk absently.

He shrugged again. "I haven't found the right fence to climb over yet I guess. They say the grass is greener on the other side, but I disagree." He heard a ping in his head and looked in his peripheral vision.

New title received!

!NEW! Edgelord: +4 to Charisma, specifically when you're trying too hard to sound badass. You are now forbidden to wear any color other than black as long as this title is equipped. This title is equipped until you receive a new title.

He rolled his eyes a little and dismissed the screen with a swipe of his finger under his desk.

She shifted in her seat a little. "Wow. Edgy much?" She teased, only half-joking.

He shrugged. "Yeah just a little." He chuckled lightly to himself and kept working.

Afterschool, Logan was packing his shit up from his locker, ready to just get the f.u.c.k outta there. Unfortunately for him, Mary Jane found his locker, and therefore found him. "Hey, maybe we should work on the project outside of school? There's no way we'll be able to finish it all in class."

He sighed and begrudgingly agreed. This stalling however, allowed Flash to track him down. "I'm about to get really acquainted with my locker, I think. You should go home Mary Jane." She traced his line of sight and scowled. "Not a chance. And call me MJ. All my friends do."

He shrugged. "Fine. Then don't be surprised in a couple minutes. I gave you a way out." As soon as he got in range, Flash swung a wild hook at Logan, designed to knock his block off. Unfortunately for Flash, Logan ducked under it and punched him in the gut. Flash bent over, allowing Logan to follow up with a leg sweep, sending Flash into a faceplant. Flash stood back up to retaliate, charging forward only to run face first into a raised foot. He then promptly ran the f.u.c.k away with a broken nose. MJ stood in mild shock, but she hid it well. Who would've thought he could fight so gracefully like that? Yet so powerful about it, too.

Logan got a ping in his head.

Defeated an enemy 3 levels higher than you! 600 xp gained.

Level up!

+4 ranks in Karate.

+4 Charisma bonus when interacting with MJ Watson. She thought that was hot apparently.

He g.r.o.a.n.e.d to himself a little and grabbed his shit. "Maybe tomorrow MJ. I need to get home." And he left, a lightly red-in-the-face MJ left behind.
