Vampire: Fall Of The Gods

Chapter 33 - Final Round

The demon lifted his hammer in the air and all the remaining floating rocks changed shape and turned into a cage. Clemente snorted and waved his sword.

"Abigar."

A giant raging ball of wind formed in the cage. Stopping it from shrinking.

"You know that wind can cut boulders down to the size of a pebble. Why did you try this futile struggle to trap me."

As Clemente finished speaking the bars of the rock cage broke apart as the raging wind eroded it. He them waved his sword and a gust of wind picked up and drew the demon towards him.

"Bringing me closer to kill me? Fool!"

A rock spike appeared in front of the demon while heading towards Clemente. As the rock spike approached Clemente suddenly lifted both his hands. As soon as his hands lifted an windy path appeared leading the spike to fly over him. The demon suddenly cried out in pain. When I looked at the demon I saw a windy figure holding Clemente's sword and stabbing it into the back of the demon through his heart. The demon looked in shock and then smiled.

"Cunning little fox."

The demon fell as he breathed his last breath. Clemente had used the luring wind to force the demon to use a big attack blinding him from seeing that Clemente had made a wind figure and gave his sword to him to attack him from behind. Cunning indeed. Clemente headed back to us and Tacito walked out. The excitement was practically boiling out of him like steam.

"I see, looks like we have encountered some troublesome enemies this time."

The leader walked out and out of his left hand came a flaming green sword. The area around the sword looked distorted due to the heat. Tacito was still excited to battle.

"May the best man win."

Tacito said as he drew his broadsword. As soon as he drew his broadsword a giant red Minotaur appeared behind him. That must be the power his contract gives form to. It enveloped him and a deadly aura was emitted. The demon dashed at Tacito and stabbed forward at Tacito with his sword. A green snake flew out of it and wrapped around Tacito. The demon jumped into the air and slashed down at Tacito. Out of the sword flew hundreds of burning arrows.

"Break!"

As Tacito shouted the snake was torn apart and he swung his broadsword upward and sent a wave of wind at the arrows. It was not wind like that of Clemente's attacks, but rather wind that resulted from the powerful swing. The arrows were scattered by the wave and landed around Tacito. Some were even blown back to the demon. The demon simply parried all the arrows. At this instant Tacito had jumped up and swung diagonally from the top down and hit the shoulder of the demon. Before the broadsword hit the demon, the demon had made a shoulder guard off flame that hovered above his shoulder blocking the incoming attack.

As the attack was blocked, Tacito kicked the demon in the c.h.e.s.t. When the demon was kicked he also sliced at Tacito's right arm. The Minotaur grabbed the sword and flung the demon down. The bright red dimmed slightly when the Minotaur grabbed the sword. The light then dimmed down again and then Tacito stormed down using momentum as he swung down with his broadsword. The demon that was now lying in a small crater rolled out of the way as the broadsword landed and made the crater grow a few metres. The demon got on his feet as he rolled and pounced at Tacito. The demon used the impact the broadsword had on the ground to pounce faster at Tacito. The demon forgot that the Minotaur had helped Tacito to fight in this battle. The Minotaur grabbed the demon at the throat and slammed him into the ground. Tacito let go of his broadsword as it was now stuck in the ground and he started to pound on the demon. Soon a large amount of blood escaped the demons mouth. Tacito then stopped and the Minotaur disappeared. The demon had been beaten unconscious. Tacito grabbed his broadsword and removed the demon's head.

"Do we head back now?"

Tacito stretched as he asked.

"No, I want to burn their corpses first."

I walked forward and waved my sword and burnt the corpses. We then headed back when only the ashes remained.

"Did you actually kill the demons?"

"Yes. We can continue tomorrow. We just need to rest a little."

I looked at Baldovino that already sat down and drank a blood orchid.

"I see. Thank you for killing the demons that killed some of my clansmen."

"They are, at a certain level my fellow clansmen."

"Indeed they are. Do rest up. I do hope everything goes as planned. My brother is of the sneaky kind. Best comparison would be a snake."

"Do not say it like that. It will force us to encounter some trouble along the way I would like it if thing go smoothly and I return home fatser."

"Sorry. Didn't you just say the same thing? anyway I will go check up on my clansmen and make sure they are prepared for tomorrow. You should do the same."

She walked away and I walked towards Clemente and the rest.

"Are you guys ready for tomorrow?"

"I cannot wait. I really want to battle the druids. Magic, sounds like an interesting battle, does it not?"

"Yes it does Baldovino, keep in mind that it can kill you and you aren't allowed to kill them. I am ready and Tacito is also itching to fight. I think this battle did not quite satisfy him."

"I see. When you three do face the druids, do be cautious."

"We shall be, do not worry. We have seen first hand what you are capable of when using magic and you haven't had your entire life to study magic."

Clemente nodded at what Tacito said.

"I agree, but that is what will be the challenging part."

With that comment I walked away and rested against a tree and fell asleep.
