Vampiric Blood

Chapter 48 - Super Sweet Banana Pancakes

With that last effort, Hailey was utterly exhausted. Having slept with a vampire for two nights in a row would do that to you. Especially since Jason had taken blood from her during both occasions. Seeing that Jason didn't seem to wish to go for an excruciating fourth-round, Hailey decided to go to the washroom to put herself back together. She disappeared into his large bathroom.

(I need to call her more often, that's for sure.)

Jason started to put himself together, as well. He wiped down his body and put his clothes back on. After he got dressed, he plopped himself down on the couch, steering clear of a wet spot that was on there. Jason managed to watch a couple of minutes of the movie before the washroom door opened, and a goddess emerged.

Standing in the doorway, there was Hailey with a high ponytail pulling her hair back, but it seems that several wisps of blonde hair managed to escape. She stood there in a ratty hoodie, and it seems she managed to get her pants back as she was now completely dressed. The clothes while old didn't pull from her face. Instead, it only made it more extraordinary. The loungewear made her beauty stand out because she would shine no matter where she was.

The view made Jason pause for a second, but something made him smile and laugh for a second. Seeing Jason laugh upon seeing her made Hailey curious.

"Why are you laughing? Do I have something on me?"

Hailey started to inspect her clothing as Jason laughed a bit harder, hearing her question him.

" No, you don't have anything on you. You look amazing I just laughed because you aren't wearing p.a.n.t.i.e.s right now, are you?"

Jason made a serious face as he tried to hold his laughter back.

Hailey blushed as she walked over and cuddled up to Jason and looked up at him. She was not wearing p.a.n.t.i.e.s right now. While she managed to grab her sweatpants while heading to the bathroom, she didn't manage to get her p.a.n.t.i.e.s as well, and she left them in the living room in her haste. Being in Jason's embrace, as they simply watched a movie, made her feel incredibly safe. The warmth radiating off his body lulled her to sleep as she fell on his c.h.e.s.t.

(She's even cuter when shes sleeping.)

The bright sun hung in the air shining in through the balcony windows lighting up the apartment. It was afternoon, and Jason had barely started to move. Yet there was someone busy. Hailey was scuttling around his apartment. She was rather happy as last night when she used his bathroom she went through the stuff there. The investigation was good. There was only one toothbrush and razor, and most of the things there were for men and in quantity for one. But right now, she was hurrying around trying to cook some breakfast.

She felt it was adorable when he had made breakfast for them yesterday, so she made breakfast/lunch. While the timing was closer to lunch, the food was breakfast because she had made a very classic breakfast, which was pancakes. Surprisingly Jason's kitchen was well stocked and had everything she needed for banana pancakes. Placed on the dinner table was two plates of banana pancakes stacked high with fruits and whip cream. Everything was already, so all she had to do now was wait for sleeping beauty to wake up.

Speaking of sleeping beauty, how could a vampire not detect someone banging away in their kitchen? The answer was the vampire recognized her and just went back to bed. It seemed the rumour is true that vampires sleep in the day. But Jason sensing everything ready and her hesitating at the door whether to wake him or not. Jason decided to end her torture and "wake up."

"Oh, you're up now? I hope I didn't wake you up. I didn't want the pancakes to get ruined."

She said that with a bit of smile like she was happy, he was up. But it seemed like there was a trick prepared if he didn't wake up.

Seeing Hailey standing there with her arms behind her back, Jason could feel something was up already. He quickly peered behind her as she tried to dodge out of his sight. But he had gotten a glimpse of what she was hiding. It was a cup about half full of ice cubes. She had wanted to dump ice cubes on him in his sleep.

(Oh man, she plays dirty.)

"Yea, I am up. I smelled delicious pancakes brewing, so I got up, and now I am going to brush my teeth for these pancakes."

Jason gave Hailey a peck as she stood there by his bed. He reached one arm over his head and took his hoodie and shirt off in one swift move and stood there shirtless and walked to the bathroom. He quickly brushed his teeth and washed his face before going to get his pancakes.

As soon as Jason sat down, he immediately drowned his pancakes in maple syrup. You have to respect the syrup. Only when they got deemed sufficiently drowned did Jason start to dig in. He had a terrible sweet tooth and was ruthless when it came to them.

Seeing Jason eat like a toddler unsupervised with his syrup, it made her wonder how he got the six-pack.

"How are the pancakes? They're banana."

Hailey always enjoyed asking how people received her cooking. She liked knowing.

"It's amazing if you didn't know I had chocolate ch.i.p.s in the freezer."

Jason gestured to his fridge. He liked all things sweet, and chocolate ch.i.p.s were amazing add-on for anything.

"I thought that it would make things too sweet, but it seems you're okay with that."

There was a teasing way with how she said that. She was making fun of how much syrup he was using.

"I thought it was pretty clear that I like things sweet."

Hailey just blushed, ignored him and kept eating her pancakes. Getting no reply, Jason kept eating as well.

Things went on as they had their breakfast together and finally parted but not before a kiss at the door.
