Vastitus, Failure Planet

[Jaku] (Earlier before/during the previous chapter) Today I was on night patrol. Nothing usually happened, walking around the empty halls, all the lights were dim. Narchean had already gone to his quarters and Buvin had gone off to wherever he goes during the night (I don't know), it seemed that nothing would happen tonight. I could hear people arguing in a room down the hall. I sighed and continued walking around aimlessly. Eventually my shift had finished and I walked to the training room.

I got there, slowly opening the door with a soft creak. The lights were on a dim setting, and in the corner Ruby was hitting the punching bag. I thought she had been banned from the training room after the last incident, but perhaps she was only banned from sparring, I couldn't quite remember. I decided to ignore it since I didn't see any harm in her training anyway, as long as she did not damage the ship again. After a quick greeting I went over to the weight training machine. Although with my armor my strength was immense without it, I was only above average and not particularly powerful. Time dwindled away as the night dragged on. Eventually even Ruby left the training room.

Staring at the ceiling I got an odd feeling. Standing up i looked around, normally all systems were off when not used, but there was one sparring dummy on. As I approached I selected a pistol and dagger from the weapon rack. Since it was already up I had no idea what the difficulty was so I approached cautiously. Then, 3 meters away from it, it's lights changed color and it charged. I hadn't seen this in a sparring bot before but luckily it wasn't uncommon in an actual battle so I knew what to do. Stepping to the side at the last second, I stabbed it in the c.h.e.s.t, and pushed my pistol into the back of it's head as I extended my led to trip it. With it falling I could quickly move to the back and deactivate it.

After its defeat, I walked away to where it had been standing. I could see a panel in the floor. As I bent down to open it, three other practice bots activated, forcing me to jump back. I quickly retreated out of the practice area. Putting back my weapons, I left the training room to get some rest, I would discuss this with Narchean and Buvin in the morning.

(morning) I went down to breakfast with Narchean and Buvin, we would be meeting to talk with Veleda later. As we sat down to eat the sludge of food that we have on the ship I told them about the previous night. Narchean didn't give it much thought, "I'll look into it a bit, I didn't notice anything before." after a minute of silence, Narchean excused himself to go get Veleda.
