Veronica: CEO's Underworld Queen

After the dramatic scene, Veronica and Madame Vanessa spent the rest of the day strolling and buying here and there inside HaoHua Mall.

That was when Veronica realized that the old madam loves to buy jewerlies, above all else, but interestingly enough, was not even wearing too much in her body as of the moment.

Veronica on the other hand felt the need to buy a pair of cute clothes for the cubs in line with their 'fashion style' as far as Veronica could understand. When Madame Vanessa felt tired from almost a whole day of strolling, they both decided to have a snack before finally going back home. Veronica on Eligire exclusive subdivision. And Madam Veronica on her private, mansion in the suburbs but not really far from heart of City I.

So Veronica decided to went with Sy Madame as per her invitation, (insistence), to come over her own mansion. She already called Rawlf and the man told her that he would fetch her personally after work.

The two were busy chatting at the backseat when Veronica suddenly felt a sudden rush on her instinct. 'Out!!! Now!!'

Veronica shouted suddenly that even the driver and bodyguard were taken aback but instinctively enough, followed her words.

'Barm.' A loud explosion was heard on the on the road right on the way just some 26 feet away from the car and if Veronica were any later to find a mishap on the surrounding as she caught something on her peripheral views, who knows, they might be uniting with explosion. Although the car they were in was an armored one, but that doesn't give an assurance to their survival much that the explosion was huge.

'Veronica jump on the sidewalk then hurriedly rolled down the bushy part of the roadway to hide while protectively embracing the Sy Madame. The Sy Madame who was shocked of what happened wasn't even to utter a single word although an unmasked sharp look appeared on her eyes. Then she looked at the woman who still hold her in her arm.

'Mom, listen. Don't move. Stay here and wait for my return.' Veronica's carefree attitude suddenly turned calmed, alert and serious as she asked the Sy Madame to stay put in order to ensure her safety.

The bushy area was thick enough to hide the figure of the Sy Madame as long as she don't try to move and Veronica was sure that nothing would befall her as her target was some feet ahead their current location.

She's not sure what happened to the sole bodyguard and driver but Veronica was sure that the person responsible for explosion on the road earlier was the same person who she saw on her peripheral view that run along beside the bushy sideway ahead of them to the said explosion area. And that's her target. Veronica's eyes turned deadly..

Seeing the this change on her daughter in law's expression, Madame Sy couldn't help but be worried and at the same time, slightly uncomfortable.

But as expected to the Sy Madame who had experienced her fair share of assasination much during her younger days as the Sy Madame, she calmed down and remained clea headed.

'But where are you going? How about we wait?! I have other men who was trailing behind us. They will be here as soon as possible.' Madame Vanessa said, worry for her daughter in law prevailed.

That's better. Veronica thought. That way she's assured that help is coming their way, much to the Sy Madame's safet.

But if she is yet to wait for the Sy Madame's men, she doubt that they'll be able to catch the suspect.

So Veronica felt the need to catch the man from earlier.

'Okey. Wait is coming. That's better. But please wait here mom. I'll go check on the bodyguard and driver if they're able to jump down the car and survived.' Veronica was after all, worried about the men with them although her primary purpose was to catch the suspect, she just can't simply tell it to the the Sy Madame, much that she was trying her best to hide her background so she has to lie, slightly.

'What?! No dear! Let's wait until help arrives!' Shocked of her plan, the Sy Madame, tightly hold her Veronica's arm. After all, despite of the calmed expression she saw in her eyes, all Sy Madame could think was because Veronica experienced this kind of assasination attempt years ago. And she's very worried of anything that might happen to her, and she wouldn't be able to accept it much that the main purpose of the assasination attempt was her, and not Veronica.

Veronica knew that persuading the Sy Madame will be hard so she has to think a way.

'Mom, I saw someone coming our way and it's not your men, you have to stay here and wait. I'll run to diverge their attention. But please promise me that you'll wait here.' She asked solemnly.

Sy Madame panicked face made Veronica guilty but she has. 'I can outrun them because I'm younger and fast. If we are just to stay here and wait for them to catch us, we will have no assurance that both of us can survive if they really decide to shoot us on a closer range. But if I run away and get their attention to chase me, at least you're safe to ask your men to save me later.'

'But..'

'Mom, listen. Trust me. I have a little training when I was still in Country R. I can protect myself.' Veronica give some information to assure the Sy Madame.

'But those people might be assasin Veronica! You may be endangered.' Sy Madame didn't budge in. Although yes, it's true that they might be killed sooner if they both stay but at least, she is still sure that for the moment, Veronica is safe beside her.

'Mom. Trust me. I am your future daughter in law. And you have to trust me. I know what I'm doing, please, heed my request.' Veronica looked at the Sy Madame's eyes with conviction. Sy Madame seeing so can only weakly nod her head.

'Please be safe.' Sy Madame's tone was laced with extreme worry.

Veronica rubbed the back of the Sy Madame and move to crawl out. 'I will.'

With precision and skill, Veronica manage to crawl her way and when she arrived her destination point, stealthily move forward on her target.

A killing intent exudes from her.
