Veronica: CEO's Underworld Queen

Two days after, not only the high society but also the whole citizenry of City I were shocked of an early news. Two prominent figures in the City fell under grace. The City I's chief of police Vincent Zhou was suspended for maladministration and was even downgraded to a regular police officer as another severe punishment. On the other hand, the prominent judge Gener Lim was facing a removal from position and obviously, it won't be too long for the once prominent judge to lose his hard earned status all because of his wife's thoughtlessness.

"Tell me, were you responsible of this?" Veronica asked the man beside her who was silently yet elegantly sitting while reading the morning newspaper.

Rawlf raised his head and glance at the news playing on the television. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion. He then stared at the woman sitting beside him. His knitted brows softened after absorbing the beauty of his woman through his eyes. "No." He said.

Veronica looked at him in disbelief. "If not you, then who?"

"It doesn't matter. Those people will end up the same…..even worst."

"Oh.."

"Good morning mammeh, good morning daddeh." Veronica wasn't able to finished her sentence when their children loudly greet them early in the morning.

"Good morning babies! Give mom a sweet morning kiss."

Baelfair giggled right away run to give her mom an early kiss. She hugged Veronica for a while then wiggled her way down to move on her father's side. Rawlf has long put the newspaper down the coffee table and put his little princess on his l.a.p. "The princess had a good sleep?" He asked adoringly.

"Yes Daddeh. Beyfey had a good shweep (sleep)."

"Fire, what are you doing there? Give mom a morning kiss." Rawlf heard this and looked at the base of the stairs. There, his four years old son was just looking at them. "Mom, I'm too old for this."

It's as if Veronica didn't heard this and just walk to carry her Baelfire. "Young or old, you are mom's baby." She then shower the little boy with her kisses. Fire was about to avoid this but seeing his father eyes, he no longer struggle and just let his clingy mother to kiss him.

Later and as usual, Rawlf brought the kids to his company giving Veronica the chance to visit Bael Force.

" We've successfully finished our first batch transaction, Lady. As of the moment, our clients had been giving us positive feedbacks." Zero said while typing on the computer. Veronica took a quick glance on this loyal subordinate then asked. "What about what I asked you do research Zero? It has been a long overdue information. I gave you the chance and time but there were always be a limitation on that." Veronica strictly said.

Zero paused for a moment. As if contemplating, his hands opened his table's drawer and he hauled a black folder. He gave the folder to his master.

Veronica stared at Zero for a moment and seeing the seriousness in his expression, she took. She opened to read the content of the folder and her eyes widened in utter shock. She once again look at Zero and this time, she sees nothing that could somehow give her a clue as to what he is thinking about. She continued reading in silence. Afterwards, she put closed and gave the folder back to Zero.

"When do you plan to give this information out to your father?" She asked carefully.

"There's no need for that Lady."

"What do you mean."

"Lady," Zero stared at Veronica and as if conveying his sincerity, "I told you before that I will follow you throughout my life."

Veronica sighed. "Zero, I know that you are very grateful towards me. And I personally witnessed and understand your loyalty towards you. I not only viewed you as my subordinate but I consider you as a younger brother. Truthfully, I also want you under my wings for a lifetime but it would also be unfair of me to do so knowing that you still have your family. Who knows that they were still looking for you."

Zero didn't reply for a moment to think. After a moment, a hint of firm resolution was seen in his eyes. " Maybe I could play a good Samaritan towards the old woman without revealing my identity, but as for the old man, I don't think that he still remember that he once has a son from a mistress."

Seeing the firm resolution Zero's eyes, Veronica no longer argued and respect his decision. But deep inside, she is still shocked to learn the origin of her loyal subordinate. Who would have thought that the poor young man she saved from the brink of death was the son of one of the prominent figure in Country P, even the most.
