War-Gods Trip To The Future

Chapter 16 - The Audition

After Ye Sakura left the room to go up on stage, the make-up artist and the costume designer that had just helped her started chatting not caring that her assistant, Miko, was still in the room.

"I can't believe I had to help dress that greedy bitch. She's already rich, why does she need to become an actress?" the costume designer complained.

"What about me? I had to do her make-up… ugh… hey, I bet she can't even act with her need to use her money to get here, haha. I hope she embarrasses herself in the audition today." The make-up artist replied.

"Oh, we should go watch!" the costume designer said before they both rushed out of the room to try and witness the embarrassment on Ye Sakura's face when she failed the audition miserably. The two of them had been aspiring actresses that never made the cut and settled for jobs that put them the closest to their dream.

Miko, who was still in the room, was slightly bewildered by what she just heard. Having not talked to pretty much anyone other than Sensei her entire life, she was slightly surprised that there were people that cared so much about what other people did. For her, she had only focused on improving herself in her training and didn't care for much else, not even Sensei.

With her curiosity peeked she decided to go and watch the audition as well. She wanted to know more about why these girls didn't like her target and if there were others like them. She wanted to know why anyone would care what other people did. Not knowing the reason why she wanted to know the answer to this question, she decided to postpone taking out the target while she investigated the matter.

Back in the theater room, Ye Sakura walked up on stage after it was decided that the writer would take care of the other characters part in the scene. The scene she was to perform for the audition was a scene were the main character, Akari Ai, was confessed to by the second female lead, Fukumi Kotomi as she had fallen for Akari Ai thinking she was a man.

Ye Sakura may be nervous because that man that looked like her childhood friend happened to be watching but she wasn't going to let it stop her. She knew a bit about acting from the memory she received and she had studied more about acting during her resting periods so she knew what she was doing. Not only that, but through out her previous life she had been pretty much acting as she would put on a strong arrogant facade when leading her troops but when she was alone or with her friend she would be herself, a kind and lovable person. So, it wasn't like she did not have experience.

This audition was the current biggest hurdle to over coming the first grievance of this bodies previous host and she was not planning on making any mistakes. With that in mind she motioned to the director that she was ready.

"And… Action," Director Han said after having seen that she was ready.

As they were not on the actual set for this scene but on an empty stage, Ye Sakura could only sit down and pretend she was sitting on a mat in her tent.

The writer, who was filling in for the part of the second female lead walked up from behind before speaking.

"General Akari, I have come to discuss something with you."

Akari Ai was a character that was supposed to act distant but had a strong character so Sakura basically just acted like she used to in her previous life.

"Go ahead," she said still sitting in a straight up position without turning around.

"I... well..." Fukumi started with an embarrassed look on her face while looking down and rubbing her hands together.

"If you're not going to get to the point, please leave, I still have work to do." General Akari said in an uninterested voice.

Fukumi, scared she would get pushed away before she could confess finally built up the confidence at this point.

"Umm…General Akari, I like you. I really, really like you. So, please, please marry me. I have already talked about it to my father." Fukumi says while bowing.

Ye Sakura then got General Akari's shocked expression perfect. Then, after waiting a few seconds she moved on to her next lines.

"Fukumi, I apologize but that is not something that can happen." General Akari replies still sitting facing forward.

"But why?" Fukumi then desperately pleads.

"I am sorry but I can not tell you the reason. If that is all please leave. I really do have work to finish." General Akari responds still not moving an inch.

Fukumi then starts crying and rushes away.

"Cut!" Director Han said even though they were not actually recording at the moment.

The whole theater had been completely focused on the stage. Everyone, including the costume designer and the make-up artist had been completely drawn in to Ye Sakura's acting. She had performed flawlessly. Even Miko, who always had her emotions suppressed, was amazed by what she just witnessed.

"Perfect! Amazing! The part is yours!" Director Han practically yelled as he jumped up from his seat.
