War-Gods Trip To The Future

During the plane ride back to City T, Lu Lan was plagued by thoughts of Agent Miko and her new mission. Back when they were discussing whether to send the highly talented Miko who had basically finished her training on this newly requested mission, she was the first to voice her concern. Even though no one but Sensei interacted with the girl, she had been tasked with keeping an eye on her from the shadows.

The first time she had seen Miko through the screens of those monitors, Miko had only been about five years old. The first thought that came to her mind at the time after seeing the young girl was that child that had been taken from her. She thought this because that child would have been about the same age as the little girl on the screen.

When she had been on a job in City T, she had become pregnant after seducing her target. She had long finished the job before she and the higher ups in the origination learned of the pregnancy. She was then ordered to stay at a shrine on the outskirts of City T until she gave birth. She did not know why the Black Raven organization wanted her to keep the baby, but she did not complain. She secretly wanted to keep the baby herself. However, after the child was born, a representative from Black Raven headquarters came and took the child away.

As Lu Lan had received training in suppressing her emotions, it had not been a huge shock to her but she still felt a lingering sadness when ever she thought about it to this day and ended up dumping all those lingering emotions on this little girl. Over the years she watched the girl, pretending she was that child that was taken from her.

Now, on the plane, all she could think about was that meeting when they discussed sending Miko on the mission. She knew that sending Miko on her first mission to the country she originated from was a bad idea. During that meeting she had voiced her concerns but had been completely denied. The mission was ultimately approved.

Not knowing that those lingering emotions from back then were taking control of her, Lu Lan continued to indulge in her thoughts as the plane landed.

Ye Sakura, who was very much enjoying the sparing and teaching with Miko, had not noticed how late it was. With the combination of her conditioning and the greater control she now had over her new body from solving a grievance, she found that she now had no problems with executing her basic moves to perfection. This caused her to forget about everything else and she focused completely on enjoying her time with Miko.

Miko, on the other hand, who was currently being shown how to increase the speed of one of her moves, was starting to get worried the more time went by. She understood that what she was currently doing would cause problems with her current living arrangements. Having betrayed the Black Raven organization, she knew that she could not go back to the hotel that the clients had provided for her. Knowing that someone from Black Raven had most likely been watching her every move, even if the clients didn't know yet, someone from the organization would probably show up sooner or later.

She had thought about asking to stay here with Ye Sakura, but she realized to do so she would need to explain why she would need to stay there which would expose the fact that she was an assassin that had been hired to kill her. Since Miko was unsure of how Sakura would react to that news, she ended up hesitating to reveal it.

Seeing how it was as late as it was, Miko thought that she could potentially get away with asking to spend the night for now and figure out what to do later. So even though she wanted to continue learning, Miko decided to pause the current session.

"Master Ye, I…, Can I stay her for the night? It's feels to late for me to head back," Miko said with a low voice while looking down at the floor. Normally her emotions would be completely suppressed and she would not feel nervous, but around Ye Sakura, she seemed to lose all control over them without realizing it.

Ye Sakura, slightly stunned after realizing what time it was after Miko stopped her couldn't help but chuckle a little.

"Sure," she said with a smile as she walked over and patted her student on the head. "If you want we can continue training a bit more before getting some sleep."

It was not till this moment that Ye Sakura sensed that Miko was hiding something. She had also only just then found it odd that the person hired as her assistant was as well trained in martial arts as she was for her age. Because she did not feel any vibes of danger coming from Miko and seeing how nervous the girl was, she decided not to pry. Maybe she would find out later what Miko was hiding when she was willing to tell. Little did Sakura know that she didn't have to wait long.
