War-Gods Trip To The Future

Chapter 7 - The Childhood Friend

A girl with her pink hair in a ponytail wearing a pink flower dress was standing with her eyes closed. Ye Sakura was excited, today was the day she was finally getting discharged from the hospital. She was also a little nervous about going to her current grandfathers place and the world outside the hospital but she was just as anxious to go out due to her curiosity.

Her grandfather and her sister were at the reception desk signing the papers to allow her to leave while she was close to the front entrance doors waiting for them. Just as she saw that her sister and grandfather had finished and were heading towards her she turned to look outside through the glass doors to see something that surprised her.

Getting out of a car was a man that looked just like someone she knew, her childhood friend! But then she remembered that she was currently over a thousand years into the future from his time and quickly recomposed herself. There was no way this person could be him, if anything he could only be one of his descendants, she thought.

"Sis, let's go," her sister said still seemingly shy.

The three of them then headed out of the hospital. Sakura decided to treat the man that looked like her childhood friend like any other stranger and attempted to ignore him. Trying to talk to him as if he were that friend of hers could be a bad idea making her look crazy.

She had only taken about five steps outside the hospital when her innate senses started blaring in alarm. Danger! She quickly reacted by jumping backwards and stopping her sister and grandfather from moving forwards any further.

At the same time a loud crash was heard right in front of her. She looked down to see a shattered flower pot on the floor just where she had been standing just a second ago. Quickly realizing the only place the pot could have come from she looked up towards the roof of the hospital behind her in an attempt to see the source it had come from.

Sakura was unable to see anything or anyone that could have caused the flower pot to fall. Just as she had made the decision to rush to the roof to see if there were any clues there, she heard footstep come to a stop right behind her.

"Young Miss, are you ok?" came a familiar voice.

That sounded just like his voice she thought. She then turned around to see the childhood friend look-a-like standing next to her looking her up and down presumably for wounds. Stunned that they had the same voice as well, it took Sakura a few seconds to come to her senses.

"I am perfectly fine. I was just about to go up to the roof to investigate…" she finally replied after he had asked the same question for a third time.

"Don't worry," he cut her off from finishing her sentence with a smile then turned to the girl standing behind him. "Miss Fei, go contact security to see if we can find the cause of this incident."

"Yes, Master Koda," the girl named Miss Fei had replied and then rushed into the hospital.

"Ah, let me introduce myself, I am Koda Rei and my company owns a small portion of this hospital. If you would like we can go wait inside for the results. I would like apologize that such an incident has occurred on the hospitals behalf."

At this point Sakura's grandfather and sister had just come back to their senses as well after what had happened. Having heard what Koda Rei had to say, Sakura's grandfather agreed and the four of them headed back into the hospital.

So, his name is Koda Rei… Of course, he would have a different name… he's a different person. Sakura could not stop thinking about how similar this man was to her childhood friend but she knew it should be impossible for that to be the case.

Koda Rei led them to the hospitals cafeteria where he ordered same tea for them while they waited. About thirty minutes later, just as they were finishing their tea, Miss Fei walked in and headed straight for them.

As soon as she stopped in front of Koda Rei she began to explain the situation. "The CCTV footage did not seem to be able to catch anything so they went from floor to floor asking around and through a little investigating it seems we figured out what happened. Apparently, a dementia patient was left alone in her room with the window open. When the nurse came back the flower pot on the table was gone."

"Thank you Mister Koda, for helping us put our minds at ease," her grandfather said as soon as Miss Fei finished explaining.

"Yes, thank you." Her sister followed up along with a bow.

Still preoccupied by her thoughts of her childhood friend, Sakura didn't say anything.

"It was no problem," Koda replied. "I'm glad we figured it out and no one got hurt. Now, I must take my leave. I don't want to be too late to my event." And with that he left with Miss Fei.

On the roof of the hospital a man in sunglasses was talking on his smartphone.

"Sir, I somehow missed. She managed to dodge out of the way at the last second. Luckily, I was able to frame an old lady so no one knows it was me but I still failed the objective. Please issue new orders."
