WAR OF AGES

Chapter 39 - The answer and the local problem

"I...." said one of them "I will submit to you" as he continues.

The general who knew the treason of their family had a mixed feeling of resentment, sadness, uncertainty, and confusion at the same time before they forcing themselves to raise their hands while answering in a heavy tone

"I too, submit to you," said the young general A

"Yes so do I, My lord," said the young general B.

"..." Agus who is wary of their real intentions as they suddenly accepted his dealing "Then to make sure there is no thought of betrayal let's do the ritual" as he continues.

"Ritual?! huh?" said Said general A in surprise.

"Yes, it's quite easy and simple though," said Agus lightly "While its only requirement is a drop of blood of those who swore the oath" as he continues.

Listening to Agus all of them instantly swallowed their saliva unconsciously as they are still looking at him with anxiety while at the same time feels nervous about what he would do next which is quite nerve-wracking for any noble who had close ties with the traitor.

"If you choose to break it or even had the ill-thought to cause any harm to your contractor... well do I need to tell what will happen?" said Agus indifferent tone.

"... Yes, sir" said all of the generals who heard it.

"Okay... pull out your blade and make a cut on your wrist then follow my every word to the last," said Agus.

The General who listening to Agus's word they aren't able to do anything to him as they knew of how great warrior he was as he has a great leader as few of them are very loyal to him while most are frustrated some of them clenched hands while others few are very loyal to him but with their family predicament this put them in a very bad spot but to show their loyalty they will carry it on even it's mean to kill their own family just to show their devotion towards him as they would not question a single order given by him.

Cutting their wrist a drop of blood started to come out and some fall to the ground, Agus looking at the general closed his eyes while imagining a circle of contract which has a mix color of red and blue as it glows then it appears surrounding them which size is a bit larger than the group where they glow in light under feet not only were they surprised them but also confused while curious about the sudden appearance of it.

"Ah?!" said general A.

"What is this?" said general B.

"It will not harm us, right?" said general A.

"I guess yeah, perhaps?" said general B.

"... Now, you're scaring me" said general A.

"Hey, I'm also scared about it," said general B.

As the confusion occurred Agus's next word had made them felt very safe and secure because of it even though they are still wary of him.

"It's nothing more but a ritual circle it won't harm you as it merely something like a stamp to finalize the contract and at the same time sealing your very soul to it," said Agus looking at them indifferently.

The number of the general who is currently standing on top of the circle was around thirteen people including Agus the size was enough to make twelve seals that appear on their surroundings three at the front, three at left, three at the right and another three on their back which terrified them.

"Tell me your name and the reason why you call me here," said a demonic voice.

"I never expected a real demon would appear must be the update by the War of Ages it seems, ah yes... My name is Agus the new king of the Majapahit kingdom, I summon you here with the intention for you as the Guarantor for the contract between me and them then finalize it" said Agus as he looks at the demon.

At that same moment, the demons who looked at Agus lazily before his eye goes wide in surprise as he looked at Agus more seriously before noticing it was this person that had previously killed his former master who freed him from the seal of submission but how Agus did so still engraved deep within his demon soul as his incorporeal sweat slowly drip down before turning into odorless smoke.

Agus throughout the Call of Sign faced many enemies and remembered few and when he looks at the demon there are no memories that point him to remember the demon but he remembered him in which fear was engraved deep within the soul of the demon.

"Yes, Agus I will be your guarantor without question," said the demon as his feet started to shakes a bit.

"That's surprising usually a demon would have a condition or something but how come you are different, no unusual perhaps?" said Agus confused a bit.

"That's um... I just feel a bit good today so I do not feel like giving any condition" said the demon giving a wry but trembling smile.

"... Okay let's do it then" said Agus ignoring it.

"... Yeah" said the demon nervously.

The general who is watching them didn't talk seeing the two powerful being in front of them and not wanting to anger the two of them which made the general unable to do anything as they wait for their fate not wanting to be killed they could watch the two talk in front of them in silence.

Agreed on the proposition made by Agus the demon had validated the whole event as he watches it through with fear for the first time in his life for a very long time while finishing the contract Agus started to noticed the irregularities shown by the demon as he glanced at the demon which cause the demon to tremble because of him.

"Why are you shaking? that reminds me what is your name?" said Agus as he looks one eye at it.

"That's?!" as the demon started to sweat in fear of Agus's word "Er... Erdi-lathe" said anxiously as his eye twitch a bit.

For a moment he was examining the demon carefully before he let him go then turn to look at the general indifferently which scares them as he opened his mouth.

"As the contract is finished there is nothing else to do, now you all can leave... but do not talk about the contract to anyone else or there will be consequences that would occur," said Agus.

"Consequences?! what is it?" said one of the General with a curious look.

"You can try and find out," said Agus as he sighs tiredly while looking at the person.

At first, the general was curious but looking at Agus's act that curiosity was replaced by the sudden appearance of the cold and lingering fear near them, no it's more correct to say an appearance of the grim reaper where it's hand was hover close over their necks wanting to strangle all of them at the same time.

"No sir," said one of the general in fear.

"Okay consider yourself dismissed then," said Agus.

The general then left the area leaving Agus and the demon alone which caused the demon to felt a fear much more than he supposed to as the silent caused the demon to be uncertain of him before suddenly Agus turned his head toward the demon before his body followed suit then looks at it directly on the eye.

The very gazes showed by Agus was not a normal one as it was very cold and lifeless as if it there no souls inside, the demon felt the extreme urge to run but knowing any resistance would cause the demon to turn limp instantly as he fears for his life for the second time.

"Ere-resk," said Agus in a low voice.

Suprised and his fear with the tingling near its back as the feeling grows stronger than before as Agus mentioning he name of the demon wanting to hide from him but unable to do so.

"I thought you would not appear here since you are masterless Ere-resk, I never had expected you to be the contract demon," said Agus without turning away his eye away.

Staggered but still brave enough the Demon managed to talk towards Agus but even so it was barely able to hold his fear and the demon's body was shaking a bit in fear.

"... I also would never expect my first summoner would be you" said the demon a bit heavy tone.

"As much as I didn't expect it I still never thought I would summon you in the first thing like this thing," said Agus raising his hand helplessly while shaking his head few times.

"..." as the demon looked at Agus in silence.

"As I want to talk more but I have something else I need to attend to so I shall take my leave," said Agus as he slowly leaves the demon.

When he reached at least ten steps away he stopped midway where he opened his mouth while speaking in a small voice but enough to be heard by the demon before he continues to walk away leaving the demon to be afflicted with much more fear than intended.

"Ah... Yes" said the demon anxiously.

"That man is very terrifying not mentioning my former dead master he cannot be compared to him, not in the slightest I felt it his soul so pure yet dark but this time I sense it's much darker than previously we meet," as the demon trembles in fear.

"Even so I could call it lucky, I guess... nope if there is a second chance there could be the third one and another one, I better be a careful deal thing in the future" as he continues before disappearing from the place.

Leaving the place Agus slowly walks back to the camp where most of his men are currently on as they run from one to another each to their own as they are risking themselves against the last invasion the soldier was busying and making sure everything is ready, the soldier was quite friendly with the local and remembering the previous lord they rather are in Majapahit's control than being part of the Malacca but even so only a few were willing to devote themselves helping the soldier while the rest of the local-only only gave supplies to the soldier and are distrustful of the invader who could be their next lord while many of them still felt overwhelming fear caused by the previous lord thus unwilling to help.

Walking to his tent he was then greeted by an officer while reporting to Agus of the update as he walks inside the tent and putting down his armor and weapon preparing and hopefully the last battle against the Malacca kingdom.

"My lord the army had prepared the defense and are halfway done but we have a bit problem so it would take another hour before we could continue it," said the officer as he lowered his head after looking at Agus.

"Problem, what may be the problem?" said Agus without glancing an eye while sharpening his weapon and putting down his armor.

"The local is currently disputing of our work saying that we are ruining their crops, my lord," said the officer.

"That's odd I remember there is no field in that area you just mentioned then go tell the guard to be careful and also tell them to watch any suspicious individual nearby and I'll be going there personally," said Agus as he put down his spear then grab a nearby sword that looked durable enough and put on his sheath.

"Understood my lord, I will tell them right away" as the man bowed.

Receiving the order the officer quickly left Agus alone as he slowly stands up and walks out of his tent then Agus set off to the site where the officer mentioned a few minutes before.
