Warped Reality

Chapter 19 - This Isn't a Dream Anymore. It's Real

"What garbage are you talking now, Lombardi?" The old man snarled before slapping his rheumatic hands down the table, the lamp wobbled, the fire flickered and the shadows danced around us. "We never do time travel! We can travel the world in a blink of an eye but we can never travel from this time to another. That's never happened!"

"Why are you suddenly barking at me? I can sense you're hiding something from me! Spill it out!"

"Ah, using your powers on me already? Remember, you need to practice using it first, hone and master it. Be careful, Lombardi. I'm a better shadow lurker between us."

"I'm not using..." I frowned and paused.

Yes, I indeed felt something different towards the way he spoke to me. It's just a strong hunch, actually. But I didn't realize that's one of a vampire's prowess.

"You don't know you're using mind control on me?" He slowly asked in suspicion.

"I didn't realize I was until you pointed it out."

"You don't get to invade my head, anyway. No matter what. I'm way better than you are even though I've already given you all my abilities. I just kind of used to having them that even a little portion only remains in me, I'm still able to ward you off. I'm both a warlock and a shadow lurker, after all."

"So you're actually hiding something from me?" I pried again. "Don't you think it's just right to tell me everything now since you're going to leave me by day break anyway? How will I suppose to know what is and what's not of being a vamp if you're holding out on me?"

"Knowing everything is a lot of toil, Lombardi. And dangerous, too."

"Since I'm already here, there's no turning back anymore. So better tell me everything now."

"Alright." He exhaled audibly before clasping his hands in front of him. "I'm a warlock so I've already been to the dark world a lot of times. I wanted to learn more about my power and how to better use them. I'm more involved of studying about healing but during the times of my travels, stumbling into different dark spirits are inevitable. Along the way, I learned that only by mating with a s.u.c.c.u.b.u.s will a vampire be able to take back his human life. He has to suck her blood dry. It's equivalent to our transfusion, only this one has the opposite effect. To give us life from being undead."

"Where can I find a s.u.c.c.u.b.u.s? How to trap them? Have you done it yourself? Well, obviously not because you're still here."

"You're a trouble, don't you know that?" The older man shook his head as he rubbed his suddenly tired eyes with his trembling hands. "You don't get to catch or trap them as if they're a fish from the water, Lombardi. They're likely to be the one to catch you. Unguarded. Because they only come in your sleep. When you're unaware. They will lure you and get you to fornicate with them. Where vampires draw out blood, they in the other hand, will dry you up of your s.e.m.e.n. They will come again and again until your body deteriorates without you knowing it."

"And then what? We die?"

"No. Because evil spirits don't attack their fellows." The old man snickered at me. "S.u.c.c.u.b.u.s hunts human. Those living ones. With blood and a heartbeat, Lombardi. The things we don't have anymore."

"There must be a way to have one of them have s.e.x with us." I cringed when I suddenly realized I was actually suggesting Ivano to have s.e.x with an evil siren.

But if everything that's happening right now was true at all, I believed Ino should really get to f.u.c.k himself a s.u.c.c.u.b.u.s. Because I didn't think this was still a dream anymore. This was real even how crazy it was. And if it's the only way to cure Ino, then so be it.

"You said you've encountered people in the dark world, have you seen a s.u.c.c.u.b.u.s once?"

"I told you, they only exist in dreams. And since shadow lurkers dont get to sleep, there's no way we cross paths."

"Dreams." I frowned and gasped at the same time. "You said vampires don't get to invade dreams, right?"

"Yes." The man agreed though he was also frowning at me as if curious of my puzzle solving. "What are you up to, Lombardi?"

"Listen..." Shit I needed more time and I needed this man, too. "Is there a way to get your life back? I mean how will I stop you from vanishing come early morning?"

"What now?"

"I have a very serious situation right now and you might need to regain some life to live more so I can tell you everything. Please, I need you to help me."

"I can't understand you but ok." He shook his head again and approached me before biting my wrist without preamble.

"Aww!" I exclaimed and the man just glared at me.

"You're being ridiculous! You're not able to feel pain anymore, Lombardi!" He shoved my hand away before wiping his mouth of blood. "That'll supposed to let me walk in the dark for a few nights."
