Chapter 25 - The Only Light I'm Willing to Get Burned

"Shit! Stella, wake up, baby!" Ivano jerked his head away before giving me light taps on the cheek. "Stella!"

"I'm tired, Ino." I slurred as my eyes began to drop.

"No! Don't sleep! Shit! Wake up, Stella! Damnit! Don't go there again, please. Baby! I love you, sweetheart. Please wake up!"

My eyes flew open again before staring at him. "You really mean that?"

"That I love you? Of course I do!"

"When? How?" I frowned at him before I prompted him again. "What happened to us during your time, Ivano? Please I have to know."

"You don't need to know. It's bad. That's why I don't want you to go back there."

"Bad, how?" I stared at him before I gasped. "Oh, my God. You killed me, didn't you?"

"What? No! why would I do that?"

"Then what happened? I want to know. I need to know!" I demanded as I glared up at him. "If you don't want me to go back there, then tell me what happened. It's going to take my attention away from sleeping and time traveling."

Ivano bared his teeth and it's then I noticed his fangs. I stared at it in awe before reaching up to graze my thumb over it. He jerked his head away but it's already too late. My skin was cut and blood instantly flowed out. Oh, wow. It really was so sharp. I leaned up to kiss him but Ivano just leaned away again.

"Let me kiss you!" I pouted.

"Why do you always invite yourself into trouble, Stella? I'm already undead but whenever you put yourself in line, it doesn't fail to make me feel like about to die with nervousness."

He took my cut finger and s.u.c.k.e.d the blood into his mouth. My p.u.s.s.y suddenly contracted around him and Ivano g.r.o.a.n.e.d before his a.s.s ground down deeper into me as a response. After he released my thumb, the bleeding had stopped and his fangs had also retracted.

"Youre insatiable!"

"I am." He nodded before kissing me deeply but briefly on the mouth. "Damn, I am insatiable when it comes to you, sweetheart."

I cupped his jaw, stared at him with genuine concern on my face and tried again. "What happened, Ino?"

Ivano blew out a defeated sigh before moving up and drawing out of me. He sat on the bed and pulled me so I was reclining against the headboard that's now damaged and hanging in askew. I glanced at it before giving Ivano a wide silly grin. He looked away and rubbed his eyes with the heel of his hands.

"Why do you hate my smile, Ivano?" I asked in a sullen voice.

His head jerked up as if I just hit him on the face. "I don't hate your smile, Stella. What made you say that?"

"You always look away when I smile at you. Does it remind you of Katherine?" I felt a pang of jealousy at the thought that maybe Ivano hadn't moved on from the love of his life.

"I don't remember Katherine any more than her betrayal, sweetheart." I Ivano licked his lips while staring at my mouth before his gaze flickered back into my eyes. "I love your smile, Stella. They're like sunshine, so bright and happy. The things I can't have. When you smile, it's like looking straight into the sun. But the longer I stared at it, it's blinding me though it's the only light I'm willing to get burned." He looked away again and his shoulders dropped. "But your smiles are also shining reminders that I can't have you forever. Something I'm still looking a remedy for."

"Ivano." I waited until he looked into my eyes and when he did, I smiled at him. "Don't break my heart."
