23. That Vicious Woman

Translator: Iris Guo

Li shook her head in horror. She wouldn’t tell anything.

I felt I was right. ‘It must be Ling Mubai’s mother! It was her that murdered my child!’

My eyes were full of flames of fury. All blood came straight towards my head at a tremendous speed. I grabbed my phone and pressed the dialling keys fiercely. “An eye for an eye. You killed my child, and I will kill yours!” I snarled.

Someone answered the call. “Go to the Room 303 in the People’s Hospital. Take good care of the patient!”

As soon as I spat those words out, Li fell on her kneels. She held my leg as tightly as she could and kept kowtowing. Her forehead began to ooze blood.

“Ms. Shen, please punish me! Don’t hurt my child, please!”

I was insane. The only thing I remembered was that my kid had been murdered. “You stopped me from hurting your child, so why did you kill mine? It was also a life!” I glared at Li and shouted.

‘I want to be a good person, but why is it so difficult?’

‘Then I will be a bad woman. I can’t save my child. I will destroy the world.’

I wanted others to know that I was forced by them to become evil. I would be more black-hearted than they could imagine!

“Ms. Shen, I will tell you everything! Please don’t hurt my son! I pushed the closet that day. Mrs. Ling asked me to kill Ms. Song’s child.”

“She also asked me to murder your kid. She gave me aborticide and told me to put it in your soup. Mrs. Ling said she would find an excellent doctor to cure my son if I obeyed her…”

‘Mrs. Ling! It was her! That vicious woman!’

‘It turns out that Mei’s child and my baby were murdered by her. They were her grandsons! How could she do that?’

‘She’s so heartless. Isn’t she afraid of karma?’

I was convinced that she was nice to me because of my child, and finished the soup every time.

Li was weeping and begging me to let her son off.

“I won’t let my baby die for nothing!” I dropped my phone powerlessly, fixing my red eyes on her. “I’ll pay you back for it! All of you!”

I wouldn’t hurt her son. I would only punish the true murderer behind all these.

After I finished my words, I stepped out of the house and drove to the residence of the Ling family. I needed to ask Mrs. Ling for an explanation.

Pushing open the door, I called Mrs. Ling’s name and asked her to get out.

Finding I was aggressive, the servant dared not stop me. She tried to put me off in a low voice, “Mrs. Ling is taking a nap. Please lower your voice, Ms. Shen. Please don’t wake her up.”

‘Taking a nap? Well, my baby was gone, and she still has the mood to take a nap!’

I held my fury back and asked the servant to get out of my way. She dared not contradict me, and only stepped aside and went back to her work.

I went upstairs. Before I kicked open the door of Mrs. Ling’s bedroom and strangled her, I heard a woman moaning.

The woman repressed her moan while some men were chuckling lustfully.

I was stunned. ‘Is this Mrs. Ling?’

‘Hasn’t she been a widow for many years? Why does she talk with men in her bedroom? And their voices sound obscene… Does she cheat on Mr. Ling?’

Disgusted, I slightly pushed open the door and peeped.

The scene left me dumbfounded.

A woman had her back to me. I could recognize that it was Mrs. Ling!

With a dagger in her hand, Mrs. Ling scratched a woman’s photo. Her face was filled with utmost loathing and she murmured, “Bitch, I didn’t kill you with my own hands, then I will kill your bitchy daughter myself!”

She focused on the photo, so she didn’t notice that I was peeping through the gap.

When I stared at the woman in the photo, my eyes widened.

I knew the woman. She was my mom who had been dead for a decade!
