When Nights Becomes Evil.

On the way back home, Steve couldn't stop playing over everything that had happened in the last few days. Something called a Strigoi had appeared out of the pages of a horror show, it had murder three people so far and assaulted himself and two other officers. Steve was also remembering he had even told his chief that he believed that they were hunting a vampire and now he was meeting a man who said he killed another human and then ate that person's heart. Wow, Steve thought his career was over as an officer, and he is lucky not to spend a few weeks if not months is a looney house.

Steve was driving along the road by the park when he saw Ezafe Morella walking along the sidewalk toward the grocery store. He pulled over waited for him to approach the car, when he got close he rolls down the window and asks Ezafe, what you up to Ezafe? I'm walking down here to the grocery store he replied I am out of a few things and wanted to cook dinner would you care to join me Ezafe ask? Sure Steve said, why don't you get in, and we can go there together besides I would like to talk over what happened the other night.

As they were riding Ezafe and Steve started discussing what had seen and happened in the last few days. I don't know how we can track this thing down said Steve, I was never a person that believed in fairy tales or monsters. Ezafe agreed we in the modern age have forgotten think that we know it all because we dismiss the things of the past as superstition.

The modern ways have forgotten that the old ways were based on some fact and some myth Ezafe said just like that of Dracula that's is so famous in the movies. He is this undead creature that can metamorphous into a bat and flies away, or that can hypnotize a woman and make them fall in love with him. All fiction based on an old myth that was once true, this creature that we are after only knows that it is hungry and that we are its food source.

Steve asked the ones who were killed by this creature will they turn will probably turn into that creature like the movies? Yes, it is possible, the animal's saliva carries a bacterium that will change them into it according to the old ways. If this is truly a vampire like the ones in the movie, Ezafe said laughing. Show Steve said are trying to tell me that officer Shawn will turn into one of these creatures if he isn't killed? No, Ezafe saying there is a possible cure according to the stories told by the elders of my village that if he were to get exposed to the sun for a while, it would kill the bacteria its weakness is in the sunlight. The old ones who lived in my village would take a person and make them set in the sun for fourteen days, and then they would be blessed, and that seems to cure any who had has been bitten.

Pulling into the supermarket Steve ask then how did you know so much about this creature then you ate its heart when you killed it? The elder of the village who happens to be my father had the knowledge passed on to him from his grandfather. That if ounce killed you had to eat its heart to stop it from ever harming your family in the future cause you absorb the spirit of the creature when you eat the heart.

I have read that many deer hunters that can harvest a deer will eat the heart and drink the blood of the animal to absorb its soul of the deer. Because tradition says that they will become one with the forest and the creatures that live in it. True I had to do that when my father took me hunting, Steve said remembering the experience of the first kill.

I will be right back said Ezafe as he gets out heads into the grocery store. Steve was sitting there absorbed in remembering the thrill of the first deer hunt that he had gone on with his father. Like a lightning bolt, he remembers the old man in the coffee shop who was a retired NYPD officer he had said they had a similar killing back in the sixties. Mr. Patterson had dealt with this before, and I bet I can talk to him about this and get his notes from that case so that way I don't look so much like a looney toon to the captain.

Ezafe got back into the care, and they started heading back to his apartment. They had chatted about other things dealing with the Marines, and that Ezafe held a Doctorate in Bio-Engineering, he had earned from his study's in Europe. He was haven hard time here in the states finding work since he had immigrated here only a few months ago.

Ezafe, Steve asked why does a person who has a doctorate in bioengineering come here to America with no job or with no family here either? I came to escape the Soviets and the evil that they had planned for my people and me.

As Steve was headed to the coffee shop, he hoped to get to catch Mr. Patterson where they could maybe go over his old case and maybe help him find this guy or creature.
