When Nights Becomes Evil.

Chapter 12 - A TIME TO FEAST

The evil had awoken ounce again fully healed and hungry it knew now that there was one out there that could kill him and he needs to be careful when he left the safety of this tomb. I will feast tonight then I shall move to a better spot further away from this town it has grown too large and now has a hunter who knows what I am and can stop me.

He flew high into the night and the city's and its dark alleys of the city looking ounce more for blood. He spotted a man laying over in an alley asleep there he thought this would be an easy kill no one around to stop me or to interrupt my feeding. He had descended to where the man had laid down then evil one then turned back into its human form because he felt this would be a safe place.

The man wasn't aware of the danger that was fast approaching him. Because he had got enough change, then he bought a bottle of southern comfort for his dinner and fallen into a drunken slumber. The creature enveloped its victim, and the feast was only to last for a few moments then his suffering had ended. Because the man had such high alcohol volume in his blood the creature had become dizzy and couldn't walk without falling over it was drunk.

He begins to walk nearer to the alley just then was another man named back alley Pete, and he saw what look almost like a mist on the ground around his buddy Wally Jenkins. The cloud turns into a man before Pete's eyes and looked at look at Pete and smiled showing several rows of sharpened teeth. Mr. Pete said you need to see a dentist and stumbled on of down the street. The evil one was confused and decided tonight was not the time to feast, and he returned to the tomb. He was trying to rest, but he was drunk to get to the ceiling, so it lay on the ground with a hard grip on a boulder to stop him from spinning out of the cave.

Well, what is the plan tonight ask Patty we watching a movie or are we going to head to bed early? I want to watch a movie mom there's an excellent vampire moving coming on I like to watch. Well, it is Friday Steve said, and we have not watched anything scary in a while so why not momma? Ok, when he is afraid and wants to sleep with us remember it was your idea she laughed.

I will not be afraid I promise mom, ok I will make some popcorn, and we watch the vampire movie you want anything honey? Yea I like a coke, please. By the way before you going any were honey, and we are all here as a family. I have made up my mind, and I want to move back to California and retire as a Detective. That is a fantastic baby how you feel son? I am ok with it too it is creepy here anyway and I miss the beach and because I want to go to Disneyland.

Why do you think it spooky here son? Wasn't because of what happened at the park to me, was it? No dad ever since Joey, Mike and I went into that old cave by that old church I have had a spooky feeling about this whole town. Why were you guys going into a cave? Joey found it last week when he was near the old church mowing a yard, and he was scared, so we all check it out. We thought it was cool, but something growled at us, and we ran as fast as we could.

The next day at the funeral home Steve went into the Smith and Brown Mortuary and met the funeral director. Thank you, detective Weaver,, I understand, you have a few questions on the missing body of Lindsay Taylor who was killed on elm street a few days ago. I don't know what happened to the Body detective we received the body from the corner, and we stored in our cold storage we embalm it then we put back in the cooler. The next day we went to remove it and dress the body for viewing and it we discovered it was gone. What you mean it was gone ask Steve? It wasn't there we checked are surveillance tapes, and none entered the building it just simply vanished. Well, sir in my years as a detective I have never known a body just to disappear. If I can would you mind if I look through the building some and see maybe it was missed placed? You may say the director in an upset tone, but I assure you here we do not lose bodies of our dearly departed.

Ok, what you say we check the Locker first and we see what we can find from there then we move on to the embalming room and see if there are any clues. I am sure we will not find it here because I trust what you say, but I must double check everything just to be thorough.

They walk down into the bas.e.m.e.nt, and Steve looked over the locker and looked in the slot where the missing body had been then he notices that the door had what looked like scratch marks on it. What are these scratch from? The funeral director looks at them maybe they are from the gurneys when we close the door, and they hit it.

Ok maybe that is true but where does that door lead pointing to a door that was across from the locker? That door leads to an old storage room we do not use anymore can we open it and let me check in there? Sure, they walk over to the door and start to open it, and the creature burst through the door knocking both men to the ground it then turns and faces both of them bearing rows of sharpened teeth. The funeral director lets out a scream and passed out Steve, on the other hand, pulled his sig sour from his holster and unloaded six rounds center mass. The creature roared and charged out the door headed to the front door Steve was on his feet trying to keep up with whatever this thing was.

It burst through the front door and was halfway in the middle of the street. When Steve made it out just than the creature, burst into flame and a howl of utter torment escaped its lips as it exploded into a fireball.
