When Nights Becomes Evil.

Chapter 4 - TIME WILL TELL

There were no prints of any kind. We were also not able to find any traces of blood of the victim or the perpetrator. The fact there was no forensic evidence at all Wesley said he was the crime scene investigator for Waterville Mane. We were able to find some footprints that we followed back to some shrubs that were near the sidewalk and get this there is no sign of them coming or going to those shrubs. It's like they just appeared and walked out and killed the lady and flew off. Hmm, we both know that can't happen said Steve, but I will look into also by any chance you get to look over the bodies? Yea, the first victim, looks to have been texting when she was killed looks like whatever happened to her was swift because there was no sign she even struggled. Here is another weird part we found saliva around the stab wounds, and it does not match anything in our database. Now that is just plain weird said Steve what this person does suck the blood out with his mouth? What I don't know said Wesley, but I keep you informed when I find out more. Wesley goes ahead and turns away and heads back to his office on the other side of the building.

Steve was wondering now. They hadn't found any of the victim's blood no were, that's what Wesley had said. That was very unusual considering that the human body has on average 5.6 liters of blood and they couldn't find a single drop. Then there was the saliva around the stab wounds why in the world would there be saliva there? Steve's phone started to ring, and he answered it, detective Weaver, this is Cathy here in the morgue would you mind coming down. I have examined the three body's, and I have the cause of death and the report for you. This is a fascinating case you might find interesting. Ok give me a few minutes, and I will be down there and take a look at what you got.

He hated to go to the morgue it brought back memory's of when he had to identify his family's bodies after the accident that had claimed their lives. It was a painful memory for him, and it nearly drove him to the edge. He presses the elevator, and the doors open up, and he went in and pressed the button for the bas.e.m.e.nt.

A few minutes later Detective Weaver came into the office of Cathy Switzer, chief medical examiner. Ok, doc what is going on? Getting up from her desk she started over to the cold storage lockers where they kept the body of the victims that were brought in

. She pulled the first victim out from the cooler Cathy then moved the sheet back of the first victim. She appeared as a young female in her early twenty's she was five feet four inches said Cathy, Steve also noticed the little puncture wounds along her neck arms. Cathy noticing what Steve was looking said those puncture wounds are what I think might be bite marks of some animal, and this is why I have concluded. I found saliva around each puncture wound and then I noticed that the DNA I was able to recover from the wounds was from some animal we have never seen before. The fact it had some human DNA it, so I am not sure if there was another victim before these three or it came from the animal. Also, each puncture wound aligns directly with an atrial blood vein. Steve look confused, so you are saying that an animal mixed with human came along and attacked these at least three people and then suck their blood out? I don't know because the human DNA was compromised Cathy said maybe from a previous attack or yes mix of their DNA.

This is going to be one weird case I can feel it already Steve thought to himself, ok you said the puncture wounds were on her veins? Yes, every major arterial vein, so that suggest whoever did this has knowledge of human anatomy Dr. Cathy stated.

Ok, so are all the other victims the same? Yes, Cathy agreed they are the same, I found saliva on each one of them. Ok, a doc I'm going to head back to the office and continue working on this if any new information comes up, please call me Steve said wit ha smile as he turned and walked out.

When he reached his desk, Steve had a lot to process this murder made no sense at all to him they had no suspect, and they also had no idea if this was an animal that attacked or human. What type of animal or human would do something like this a vampire he thought with a smile.

How goes the triple homicide case ask officer Shawn? Steve looked up and said well it is at a standstill now. No leads no suspects and a whole lot of nothing, tell me you were the reporting officer, weren't you? Yes, sir, I was, and it made me throw up, I had never seen anything like that in all my life, they were pale white and dried up like a prune. Did you see anyone near them or hear anything? What at first, made you suspect to the couple? Well, I usually walk the park checking for perverts and knock off salesmen. I notice them sitting on the bench. It appeared that they were asleep. So I thought I wake them up and tell them to go home, I walked up and said to them they need to sleep somewhere else that is when I see that they were dead. I did notice there was like a musty odor like something really old was around, you know if you find an old shirt you haven't worn in a while in it has that funny odor?

Ok, you Shawn go on back out there and be careful tonight whatever killed those people are still on the loose. I will sire, and when it is time we will catch the person responsible, I hope so said, Steve.
