Chapter 20 - Wake up!

"Doctor, how's my sister?"

Li Yaorui was currently standing outside of her sister, Li Aishi, the oldest of the twins' room. She had received a call earlier informing her that her sister had woke up.

"She's doing great, her nutrition is low but, other than that she should be fine, we'll have to keep her for a month to make sure she's getting her nutrition,"

"Is that it?"

"She may need to attend physical therapy,"

"Alright, I'm going to head in, thank you,"

Inside the luxury hospital room, the sun beamed through the window, the snow glistened, and the icicles gleamed. In the center of the room sat a bed, and on the bed was a growing girl no more than twelve.

Her skin just as white as snow and her cheeks hollow and empty. The girl's arm seemed as frail as the icicles outside if a stranger were to walk in at this instant, they would think the coma patient, was an anorexic patient.

The patient had a look of yearning as she looked outside at the snow-covered ground and the other patients.

Four months, four months she'd been gone, yet it seemed like everything had changed. Time kept going, seasons changing, school never stopped, and trends kept coming and going. For four months, she slept, and now that she had woken, it felt as if she was the one stuck in time.

"Bei Bei?"

"Jie?"

A smile blossomed on both their faces, Yaorui quickened her pace and moved to sit on the bed.

Yaorui stretched out an arm and cupped her sister's cheek as a single tear descended. She wiped the single tear with her thumb and pulled her sister closer to her, enveloping her in a much-needed hug. Warm tears started to moisten Yaorui's shirt as Aishi silently cried.

As Aishi cried, Yaorui begun to quietly sing.

"If you hadn't suddenly barged into my life

Yaorui stopped singing when she noticed that her sister had fallen back asleep. She kissed her sister on the forehead as their mother had always done and laid her back down.

Just as she was about to leave, Yaorui felt a tug at the end of her hand.

"Don't go," Li Aishi looked at her with hopeful eyes.

All Yaorui did was smile as she made her to the chair next to the bed.

"I'll be right here when you wake up,"

With those words, Li Aishi fell back into a deep slumber.

The next day

Li Corps Headquarters

"President, you have a meeting with the shareholders in an hour," A male PA stood in front of a desk where a young girl worked.

"Anything else?"

"These doc.u.ments need signing, and there will be a project meeting after lunch, also, what would you like to do about the recent news?"

"What recent news?" Yaorui looked up at the male PA with imposing eyes.

"The news of you and the young master of the Hu family, Hu Angli,"

"Show me,"

The PA walked towards the President, he held out his work tablet and displayed an article on the screen.

"What is this? I thought for sure the thing with Cheng Cheng would surface for the next month,"

"They're pictures of you two during your lunch meeting,"

"Yes, I can see that,"

"What actions do you want to take?"

"Suppress this news, announce that both Long Ao and Anshi have awoken. I'll speak to Hu Angli about the contract signing later,"

"Yes, President,"

"You may leave,"

The PA bowed and left within a few seconds, his footsteps fading into the background.

Soon, Yaorui returned to the papers, placing the matter at the back of her head. During her four months of being President, she had diligently attended her classes and made sure to finish all her work.

The school was generous enough to allow her to work and learn ahead of her classes. For now, she is a month ahead of her classes. This meant she had much more time to focus on the company and its many branches.

She planned to have her sister take over their mother's part of the company. But since her sister had spent four months sleeping, she had a lot of school work to catch up on. So, for now, she left that part of the company to her mother's trusted aid.

*knock, knock*

"Who is it?"

"Samuel,"

"You can come in," The door opened just enough for a person to through, "You don't have to knock next time,"

"But then how do I know you're in here?"

"Yeah, but if you don't knock, you might catch some thieves for me,"

"No argument there, look, I brought you some brunch. I figured you would need it since sOmEOnE fOrGOt bReAKFaSt,"

"Hehe, guilty,"

"Come here and eat," Samuel walked over to the coaches and placed the takeout on the coffee table.

She scurried over and plopped herself down on the floor, happy to be fed.

Samuel wore casual business attire paired with the watch she had bought for him a few weeks back. It seems that he had been wearing the watch everyday now, she wouldn't be surprised if he wore it in his sleep.

"Eat up,"

"Yes, sir," she laughed when she saw Samuel cringe at the name.

*Clang, clang, clang*

"WAKEY, WAKEY, BROTHER! IT'S FOR BREAKFAST!"

Lu Sheng Rong barged into her brother's room, clanging pots and pans. She continued to yell and clang when she noticed her brother's stubbornness. Seeing that her brother was still not responding to her noise-making, she proceeded to land a 10/10 bellyflop on top of him.

"If you don't get up right now, I'm gonna throw a sleepover with the girls,"

"I'M UP!" With a horrified expression on his face, Lu Zhi Sai ran towards the bathroom for his life.

He was not going to babysit those three devils. He'd never done it before, but he's heard stories of the "Devils Gathering,"

When Lu Zhi Sai had finished getting ready for the morning, he had expected to find breakfast already prepared. But instead of the ready-to-eat breakfast, he was expecting, he found his sister sitting on the barstool sipping tea.

"Where's breakfast,"

"That's your job,"

"Then why did you wake me up for breakfast?!"

"Because I was hungry and didn't want to wait for you to wake up,"

"You-,"

"Me!"

*Ding, Dong*

"Are you expecting anyone?" Lu Zhi Sai looked suspiciously at the door.

"Just a few friends,"

His face paled, could it be?

"Rong Jiejie!"

Lu Zhi Sai breathed a sigh of relief when he realized that it wasn't his sister's friends. But that short moment of relief was short-lived, what stood at the door was something much worse than the Devils Gathering.

It. Was. A. Child! But it wasn't one child, it was TWO!

"Cheng Cheng! Who is this little angel behind you?" Lu Sheng Rong looked curiously at the little girl, "Omo! This is your future wife, isn't it!"

Gu Licheng nodded excitedly up and down, "Her name is Gu Sunmi, "

"Actually, Kahn Sunmi,"

"Ahhh! She's so cute! Come here, give this big sister a hug!" Lu Sheng Rong spread her arms wide and welcomed the small child into her embrace.

"Cheng Cheng, where are your parents? Weren't they supposed to drop you off?" She asked while she cuddled the tiny angel.

"Sunmi's cousin and brothers came with us,"

"Where are they?"

"We left them behind," Gu Licheng shrugged as if he did nothing wrong, "Now give me back Xiao Mimi!" He stretched towards his future wife, upset about how short he was.

"Alright here you go, I'm gonna go check on your uncle while you take off your jackets." Lu Sheng Rong turned and left the two children alone.

When Lu Sheng Rong arrived back at the kitchen, she found it-empty, so naturally, she headed towards her brother's bedroom, where he normally hid from Cheng Cheng.

"Gege, if you don't make breakfast soon, Cheng Cheng will be mad,"

"That doesn't matter! As long as I stay locked inside this room, he can't get me!" He said with determination.

"He's got a fiance now, he'll be even fiercer than before,"

"Can't get me!"

"Your limited edition action figures are displayed in the living room,"

"I prefer my life!"

"Guess I'll make breakfast then," She sighed and left her brother inside the locked bedroom.

*Ding, Dong*

"I'm coming!" She yelled and made her way to the door.

Cheng Cheng and Sunmi were already seated on the sofa watching Peppa Pig.

"Sorry, it took a while,"
