White Roses Dyed Blood Red

Chapter 34 - Night One at Eclipse [2]

Her suite was more of a condo than a hotel room. Equipped with a kitchen and 4 bedrooms, two of the bedrooms were for her bodyguards, and the last one was a spare that may come in handy.

Her assistant and manager shared their own room next to hers.

The first thing she did was take a tour of the place and familiarize herself with the large suite.

When she finished with the tour, she changed and made her to the gym where several other people (mostly men) were already there. Her hired bodyguards had also changed and followed her to the gym.

"Room card, please," The receptionist at the front desk spoke.

One of her bodyguards handed their own room cards.

"Siblings?" They all looked at each other.

Two guys and two girls?

Yup, these were her siblings.

At least that was what the receptionist was told.

Did she mention that her bodyguards were part of her brother's elite force?

"Here are your passes,"

"Thank you," With that, she turned towards the woman's changing room, dropped off her bag and left to start her workout.

While she ran on the treadmill that was a bit too high for her, she observed the other members at the gym. Most of them were confirmed guests at the party, and the other few seemed to be travelling for business or vacation.

She continued to observe the other guests while exercising and finding that all the guests were those of the highest class, bluebloods. They all carried some sort aristocratic blood in them, be it royalty or nobility.

Her family was a direct descendant from the fourth son of the second Emporer of the Tang Dynasty, Tang Taizong, personally known as Li Shamin.

By the time she finished with her workout, her bodyguards were done as well. They made their way up to the suite together, and all hopped into the shower.

. . . . .

After a day of going sightseeing in New York, she opted to have dinner at the rooftop restaurant. There was supposed to be a meteor shower that night. She wouldn't miss it for the world.

Seated at the best spot in the whole restaurant. She happily ate while she waited for the night's spectacular to begin.

Her two female bodyguards were sitting with her. While the other two were being starved by the entrance of the restaurant.

"Yaorui!" A familiar voice spoke up.

"Sister in law!" She stood up and greeted Zhang Wenshi, ignoring the pouting brother behind Wenshi.

Slightly embarrassed, Zhang Wenshi returned the hug.

"Come sit with us, we have plenty of room left," Yaorui gestured tot he extra two chairs that were meant for the bodyguards standing by the door.

The two bodyguards watched as the couple moved to sit in their seats. Their hearts were bleeding, food, they wanted food.

_____________

Hu Angli stepped out into the glass dome that provided a beautiful view of the night sky. In his head, he applauded the people the had to clear the dome of the winter snow.

He looked around the stunning restaurant, according to information is retrieved from the hotel cameras, his star should be here. Angli smiled when he spotted her tucked away in the corner.

Silently, he walked over, ignoring the waiters and waitresses as he went. He grabbed a nearby chair and plopped himself down in the chair across from her.

He began to sulk when Yaorui failed to notice him and soon found himself mimicking the sulking pose Li Long Ao was doing.

________

Meanwhile

Earlier, her female bodyguards had excused themselves from the table to check on their friends and take a bathroom break. They felt that with their boss here, there was nothing to worry about.

While Yaorui waited for the food to arrive, she got to know Zhang Wenshi (her future sister in law). She found out that they had a lot of things in common.

Zhang Wenshi was a martial artist like her but also dabbled in the other forms of self-defence as well. She learned that Wenshi had a twin brother that was born ten hours later than her, but they were born in different years.

She was born on the thirty-first of December, whereas her brother was born on the first of January.

Yaorui found that amusing because despite being twins, her twin brother would always be a year younger than Wenshi.

Before the two knew it, they had become the best of friends. By then, they had become oblivious to the sulking boys seated in front of them.

Correction.

Wenshi had forgotten about Long Ao, Yaorui didn't even remember Hu Angli existing.

When the food arrived, the boys nearly cheered out in joy only for them to be wallowing in their self-pity once again when the girls had still failed to notice them.

They were right in front of them for gods sake!

By then, the two female bodyguards had returned with their two male friends in tow.

The four bodyguards merrily ate while watching the amusing spectacle before them.

It was not until the dessert, aka, the highlight of the night's menu arrived, did the two girls noticed the boys.

When they realized that they were finally being noticed, Hu Angli and Li Long Ao nearly screamed to the heavens for the blessing of a miracle.

Their eyes shone so brightly that it would have blinded anyone who looked straight into them.

"SHE NOTICED ME!" They screamed inside their heads.

"I AM NEVER LETTING THEM TALK AGAIN!" They swore to themselves an oath that will never be made possible in a lifetime. The two girls were already too close to be torn apart.

"Hu Angli? When did you arrive?" He was felt like he was going to burst when Angli heard Yaorui talking to him.

"Oh, not that long, just an hour or so,"

"Why didn't you say anything?"

"I didn't want to disturb your conversation,"

. . . . . . .

"Shishi~!"The minute Zhang Wenshi paid him some attention, Li Long Ao w.h.i.n.ed. "I want a kissu~!"

Feeling guilty of having ignored her friend for so long, Zhang Wenshi relented and allowed one kiss on the cheek.

Who could've known that Long Ao would turn his head at the last second?!

He did. Long Ao perfectly timed his attack and stole a kiss right on the lips from Zhang Wenshi.

It took five seconds for Zhang Wenshi to recollect her thoughts and pull away from the sneaky boy. But by then, Long Ao had already received a thorough tasting of her lips.

"Y-you! What are you smiling about!?" She screamed, frustrated and extremely embarrassed. She suddenly found that angelic smile of his terrifying.

Li Long Ao was the perfect example of a wolf in sheep's clothing.

"Hehe, I took Shishi's first kiss~," His smile grew bigger.

While the two bantered, the whole table was already observing the two's interactions.

"No, you didn't," Wenshi huffed out, her cheeks were still unbelievably red.

Long Ao's face darkened, "I'm not your first kiss?"

"Nope."

"Then who was?"

"I am not telling you,"

"That's fine, I can just ask my men to find him for me,"

"You can't find him,"

"Then tell me,"

"Hmmm, let me think about that. Hmmm, how about~no?"

"Tell me~," Long Ao began to w.h.i.n.e once again.

"Okay,"

"Really!"

"Yup, it was the grandson of my family butler,"

"What's his name?"

"I don't remember,"

"How ab-,"

"Ladies and gentlemen, the meteor shower will commence in ten minutes," Cheers and applause broke out among the crowd.

While people begun to speed up their food intake, Hu Angli moved to sit behind Yaorui and turned her chair so that she was facing the glass panes of the dome.

"Thank you,"

"No problem," Hu Angli smiled at her with the same smile Samuel had always given her.

Remembering her boyfriend, she quickly sent a text telling him that she missed him, which was replied with an I love you too. Her face instantly reddened.

"All you alright, you're a bit red,"

"Oh, I am fine,"

Hu Angli looked at her doubtfully.

A few minutes later, the first meteor raced across the sky, attracting the attention of the crowd. Many people crowed around the table to get a better view of the incoming meteor shower.

The crowed caused Hu Angli to squeeze closer to Yaorui.

"Ah, sorry,"

"It's fine, let's just enjoy the show,"

And for a second, it felt like the world stopped. Like everything melted away, and it was just him and Yaorui.

He remembered something his father once told him, "... a meteor shower is like a thousand shooting stars. Every star is worth a wish if you ever see a meteor shower. Watch it with the person you love most, and wish, wish for a long life with the person you love.

For a meteor shower is meant for lovers..."

That night Hu Angli went to sleep with a smile on his face.
