What a joke. What a f.u.c.k.i.n.g joke. To think this is how the heavens would repay the suffering I've been through for so long.

Sure, I'm very thankful that I'm able to reincarnate and get a second chance. If I could find a way to go back to Earth and prove that reincarnation exists, then I'd probably become a Nobel Prize holder, no?

Okay, say I did find a way to go back to Earth. The most natural option would be to tell others of how reincarnation exists without sounding like a lunatic. But I can't.

Why?

Because I reincarnated into my second life...

...

...

As a mosquito.

A f.u.c.k.i.n.g mosquito.

An insect well renowned for being the harbinger of death and suffering, the mosquito. If you want to be more specific, then would Aedes aegypti would be the best way to describe my current species.

Now how did I reincarnate into a mosquito? Also, how did I die before reincarnating into a mosquito?

The quote 'If I brought you into this world, then I can take you back from the world' would be the closest I could get.

The reason as to why I died was because of dengue, a disease given...by mosquitoes. Very ironic, I know. And it probably doesn't fit the quote I gave, but hey.

As a teenager who had an incredibly weak immune system, it was a given that a single succ from the mosquito was enough to give me dengue. But no, tens of mosquitoes gave me the succ all at once. If they were women, I'd be fine, but they're mosquitoes.

Then again, the only mosquitoes that can spread diseases are female so...wait, where is this conversation heading?

And also, why does my body feel wet?

Ripple. Ripple.

I can hear the splashing of water, albeit very vaguely. As the water splashed, I can feel the ripple spread and c.a.r.e.s.s my body.

'I should really open my eyes and start flying,' I thought to myself.

And that's what I did.

Whoosh.

At the very instant I opened my eyes, a field of vision than what human eyes could offer greeted me, assaulting my puny mosquito brain in an instant. Man, as a human in a mosquito's body, having a field of vision like this is very hard to get used to. Especially with the fact that each of their eyes are covered with a ton of lenses, even though they only have two eyes.

Gradually, the pain that assaulted my puny mosquito brain subsided, allowing me to take in my surroundings. And boy am I not surprised.

Judging from what I could see right now, I am currently standing on what seems to be rainwater on a bucket beside an old yet sturdy house. Not only that, a lot of mosquito eggs are also on the surface of the water I'm standing on, as well as a few recently molted mosquitoes as well, including me. There are also some mosquito larvae here and there, wiggling about. Gross.

If I were still human, I'd definitely make sure to throw out this rainwater so mosquitoes wouldn't breed here, but I'm a mosquito right now, so thanks?

Speaking of which, how am I able to process thoughts normally, knowing very well that my puny mosquito brain wouldn't be able to handle a millionth of it?

Maybe this is a perk of the heavens? They're still shit nonetheless.

As I continue to examine my current surroundings and perceive where I am, I could hear the clamor of humans not far away from where I was, probably the people living in the house near the bucket where I'm standing.

"I guess this is a good time to assess where I am, what time is it, and if some sort of cheat exists that allows me to become human again?" I said to myself.

What?

Can't a little mosquito dream?

Perking up my antennae ears, I listened to the conversations of the humans.

"Dear, could you go and remove the rainwater from the bucket outside our house?" I could hear a slightly cheerful voice resonating from inside. "I'm sure insects have been breeding in it again. We should really remove the rainwater there often as well."

"Alright, mom," a slightly high-pitched masculine voice replied to the cheerful voice's words. It's probably a young teenager from the tone. After the young teenager responded, I could hear a sound of something being opened as the ruffling of clothes gradually grew louder and louder.

Wait a second.

They're removing rainwater from the bucket. In other words, my birthplace is going to be gone. And also...

I might just die if I don't start flying.

I looked at the other newborn mosquitoes around me and started to shout.

"Hey, a human is coming closer! We should go and fly away!"

I try my best to communicate with them, only for me to fail. Is there a unique mosquito language or something? Or do their puny mosquito brains just not comprehend what I'm saying?

Whoosh!

As I heard this sound, I could see the young teenager grab the bucket by its lip and gradually lift it up off the ground. Mind you, this young teenager was wearing a robe.

"Hmm...a xianxia world, probably?" I asked this to myself for a bit, only to be changed into another thought.

Fly the f.u.c.k away!

I willed my newly grown mosquito wings to flap, and so they did. The speed at which my wings flapped gradually grew faster, gradually giving me lift as I looked at the other mosquitoes on the water.

Go and fly, my brothers and sisters! Leave the eggs behind, they won't live!

But alas, they were too late.

A second later, the bucket was now being tipped over as I flew away from the bucket, reaching a height of a few meters above the ground before looking at the contents of the bucket being poured down.

Sploosh!

The sound of water crashing on the damp ground resounded through my antennae, giving me a feeling of intense remorse and anger. I could make a move on the young teenager for killing my people, but with my current body and strength, what can I do?

Give him the succ?

Okay, that sounds kinda gay, but still. A small succ would put him in bed for a few weeks, then he'll be surely be active afterwards.

I'll only take revenge if I know how to take sufficient revenge. For now, you guys shall be in my memory, waiting to be avenged.

My goal for now...

Is to fly off!

And become stronger!

Well...I can fly but...

How do I get stronger?
