Who Said A Mosquito Can't Cultivate?

Chapter 29 - False Immortal

So...I just succed blood out of a chimera's life creation module. Do I fly off of it and land on its back? I could...but once the dong goes floppy, I'm definitely going to get crushed. In other words, that would be a no.

In that case, does that mean I should stay here and wait for it to all floppy? I know there's still the chimera's head, but the height is too tall for me to get a good angle on the rock cube. There's nothing on the top of the rock cube since I already flew it, the only unique thing about it is the circle on the side of the cube, which could be easily seen from the chimera's baby maker's current height with great quality.

Wait...in the first place, why am I asking myself this question? I have wings for a reason.

Whoosh! Buzz...

And with that, I flew off of the chimera's uh...procreation rod and started to hover at an ideal height where I could see the rock cube's circle with great clarity. I was aiming for a view that was comparable to the view I got from the chimera's...I'll stop. Well...to be honest, from my current view, the chimera from the side looks like a poorly built chair.

Anyways, back to the rock cube. How could a rock cube be here in the first place? Was this cube crafted by an artisan but forgot to be taken away back to a city? Why was a weird looking chimera beside the rock cube? With a chimera of the second evolution tier beside it, that meant the cube must have some sort of importance, right?

As I continued to ponder over as to what the cube's purpose was, the description of the chimera surfaced on my mind. To be more specific, the name of the sect that created the chimera surfaced in my mind.

"Does this have something to do with the Forbidden Chimera Sect?" I asked myself, looking at the chimera, then at the cube back and forth.

There's a quote that went along the lines of 'once you start thinking of one thing, it doesn't go away' or something like that. That was what was happening to me right now.

After thinking about the Forbidden Chimera Sect while looking at the chimera and the cube, multiple ideas started to pop up in my head, all of which were related to the sect.

"Is the chimera a guardian beast and the cube is an entrance to the sect?"

"Is the chimera a guardian beast and the cube is a relic of the sect?"

"Is the chimera a guardian beast and the cube is actually a sort of storage for a godly cultivation technique?"

As I continued to think about the connections, only one thing was consistent. The chimera was a guardian beast. The cube swallowed up all of my curiosity until...

A weird idea came.

"The chimera is a guardian beast, and the cube is an inheritance."

Sure, the chimera didn't change, but the cube's purpose changed. As I thought about it multiple times in the span of a few minutes or so, I felt that it made much more sense that bullshit I was spouting a while ago.

Think about it. Why would a sect place such an important item outside the walls of their sect? The only plausible thing placed by a sect outside the walls would be an inheritance. Was it a sect inheritance? That would be a no since sect inheritances only occur within sect walls. This cube in front of me could possibly be made by a member of the Forbidden Chimera Sect while he or she was out for a mission, then felt that their time was up or something.

Now that I think about it, this was a really big brain moment. I'm definitely sure any sane person from this world would instantly think this was an inheritance. Too bad I always overthink shit, with most of it being nonsense.

Anyways, say the cube IS an inheritance. The question is, how would you open up the inheritance? The only thing other than the rock cube that could be attributed to the Forbidden Chimera Sect is the giralephant beside it, and I'm pretty sure it's a guardian beast. So how would I be able to ente-

Hm. I think another big brain moment is coming up.

"The chimera is the key to the inheritance, while the cube is the inheritance."

Although I say the chimera is the key, it's still a guardian beast, seeing how no living being has gotten close to this place. Is there a strength requirement for the inheritor or something? If so, is it to reach the same strength as the giralephant? If I were a human, what cultivation realm would that be?

Man, I really wanna cultivate now. Sure, most of the time it would be incredibly boring, but the strength and fulfillment you get afterwards is incredibly satisfying.

Okay, stop going off on tangents, Bell. Back to the cube and the chimera. Basing off of my speculations, the chimera is the key to the inheritance, which is the cube. So...how do I use the key to enter the inheritance?

Well...does it have a key around it or a special mark?

Buzz...

After a few seconds of flying around its body, I saw nothing out of place. I even activated my Qi Perception stat, nothing. I even checked for a possible key dangling around a part of its body, even that brought nothing to fruition.

Well shit. Since I don't know the key, I guess I can't enter the inheritance. Do I just leave this place and find other animals to increase my Constitution stat?

I guess I'll do just that, but leaving this inheritance without getting anything from it isn't really like me...or what I perceive to be what I would usually do.

So how do I get something from it without entering the inheritance? Well...there's the giralephant. A giralephant of the second evolution tier. It would surely give me a ton of Constitution, as well as blood points.

At the very least, I would settle for killing and s.u.c.k.i.n.g this giralephant dry. I'll make sure not to aim for its baby maker this time. Speaking of which, it's back to looking like a hump.

Well, I won't delay this any further.

Quintuple Needle Pierce!

Paralysis Imbuement+!

Whoosh!

Now, you might be asking. Bell, where did you aim your proboscis? Quite a good question.

I aimed my proboscis at its skull.

Bang!

With the first pierce, faint cracking sounds resonated throughout the vicinity as the chimera's neck slightly bent.

Bang! Bang!

With the second and third pierce, a hole where blood was trickling down was made, with the chimera's neck severely bent towards its abdomen.

Bang! Bang! Crack!

With the fourth and fifth pierce, the chimera's neck cracked, dislocated as it laid down on its abdomen, with blood continuing to flow off of the hole on its skull, which had grown by a decent amount.

From an angle, it looked like some sort of red water dispenser.

Ding!

You have successfully killed a Brave Rock Giralephant!'

'You have obtained a Bloodl.u.s.t Point.'

'You have obtained 102 points of Impure Blood Energy from killing the creature.'

'Due to the giralephant's willpower enveloping your body, you have obtained [Brave Rock Giralephant's Tenacity].'

'Brave Rock Giralephant's Tenacity (0/10) -> (4/10)'

'Constitution +0.06'

'You have obtained the skill [Hardened Skin].'

Woah. That's a lot of blood points from a single living being. Not only that, the Constitution it gave me was also a lot. Holy heck, an increase of 0.06 Constitution after having the giralephant's constitution skill go up by 4 levels? If I calculate this correctly, once the skill is maxed, my Constitution would go up by...0.15?!

That would mean I would only need 0.05 Constitution to finally start cultivating! I guess I'm pretty grateful for this inheritance without being able to enter it!

Anyways, time to succ this giralephant dry!

Poke. Slurp.

In a matter of seconds or so, the giralephant's body which exuded great amounts of vitality, turned to become emaciated in appearance as it exuded a great aura of desolation.

Ding!

'Brave Rock Giralephant's Tenacity (4/10) -> (MAX)'

'Constitution +0.09'

'Due to the user absorbing enough blood from the Brave Rock Giralephant, [Hardened Skin] has been upgraded to [Iron-coated Extremity].'

'Due to the user absorbing enough blood from the Brave Rock Giralephant, [Iron-coated Extremity] has been upgraded to [Quasi-steel Epidermis].'

In great contrast to that sight was my excitement after knowing how much blood the giralephant gave me, as well as the constitution I received from maxing out the constitution skill. Anyways, after adding in the 100 or so blood points I got from killing this chimera, I got a total of around 1200 blood points! For one animal, that's a lot!

You know what? To celebrate getting this much blood from a single animal, I'll upgrade my physique by a level! Since it now costs around 300 points per part thanks to my Blood Transfer skill at the second evolution tier, that would still leave me with around 1500 points to use.

Ding!

'1800 points of Impure Blood Energy has been consumed.'

'Eyes (0/3) -> (1/3)'

'Antennae (0/3) -> (1/3)'

'Proboscis (0/3) -> (1/3)'

'Torso (0/3) -> (1/3)'

'Wings (0/3) -> (1/3)'

'Limbs (0/3) -> (1/3)'

Now that I think about it, what's my effective constitution multiplier at the moment? For a while, I've neglected this thing, but I do feel like I've gotten stronger after upgrading all of the parts by a level.

Ding!

________

Effective Constitution Multiplier: +36%

________

Well then. It had already reached such a level? If I calculated it properly, since my current Constitution stat is at 0.95, which I checked, an effective constitution multiplier of 36% would let me show the power of someone who has...1.29 Constitution. Does that mean...I can now show the strength of a well trained human with this small mosquito body?

How destructive would that be? How high of a Constitution stat can I show once my effective constitution multiplier is higher?

Haah...that would definitely need me to succ a lot of blood from a ton of animals. If only there were more of this giralephant around, then I could easily level my physique and my other skills.

Weeennggg...

Eh? Where's that sound coming from? What the...the cube is glowing a faint blue hue and is making a weird sound?

Weeenggg....

The cube was glowing a faint blue, the light contracting and expanding every once in a while, as if it was beating like a heart. After a minute of looking at this faux heart palpitation, the faint blue light quickly made its way towards the giralephant's emaciated body.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Don't tell me...oh boi.

Within seconds, the wound I made on the giralephant's skull was patched up, while the dislocated neck was reverted back to its previous state. With every passing seconds, a greater aura of vitality continued to exude out of its body until...

It stood up. As it used to do.

The current state of the giralephant, was akin to the previous state of the giralephant before I killed it.

Wait...does this mean...this giralephant is basically immortal?

....

Hehehe.

Guess this inheritance has something else to offer me by the looks of it.
