Who Said A Mosquito Can't Cultivate?

Although I responded to the question with great gusto, the voice's response was very lackl.u.s.ter, to say the very least.

'1 point of Impure Blood Energy has been consumed. The Blood Energy System shall now be activated.'

Then again, what would I expect from a system that has a monotonous voice? I should be thankful enough that the heavens gave me this chance to grow stronger.

As I waited for something else to happen, I still stood on the abdomen of the carabao, seeing its c.h.e.s.t move up and down in accordance to its breathing rhythm. You know what, looking at how animals breathe seems kind of ther.a.p.eutic to be honest.

Eventually though, something special happened. An extremely small holographic screen appeared in front of my mosquito face, revealing information regarding the system that I had obtained. I do have to say though, even though the holographic screen is insanely small, the text on it is still so vivid.

Ding!

A sound similar to before I obtained the system had resounded, giving me an idea that this sound would definitely mean that something related to the system has happened.

Let's see what's written on the screen...hm.

I guess...the system isn't really a system that allows me to be stronger. Did I get my hopes up for nothing? I see the Impure Blood Energy thingy on the system, and it's at 0/1. Wait a minute.

Now that I mention it, I don't feel full anymore. Rather, I have the urge to suck blood one more time!

And looking at these upgrades, it would be a given that the system would allow me to increase how much blood I can store in my stomach, as well as how much blood I can suck in through my proboscis with one succ.

But what is this constitution thing? And why is it at 0.1? Is it my intelligence? Am I very stupid or something? Is the system mocking my puny mosquito brain? I know I'm just a mosquito, but to say my intelligence is only worth 0.1 is very shitty, if you'd ask me.

Then again, I would never know what Constitution unless I ask the system what it is. I wonder if it can answer dynamic questions.

I knew it. After I finished asking my question, the system did not respond to my question whatsoever.

But it turns out I'm just an impatient f.u.c.ker.

A monotonous voice resounded throughout my mind, giving me a good idea of what Constitution was.

As I continued on with my monologue regarding intelligence, the system added a few more statements.

"The normal value for Constitution is 1, which equates to the power of an average human. As for the user, who has an extremely low Constitution, it is recommended to suck more blood of beings, allowing the user to obtain a bit of their Constitution."

Wha—huh. So s.u.c.k.i.n.g a lot of blood from a specific animal would allow me to gain a bit of their strength? If that's the case, the stronger a being is, and then I suck their blood, the more strength I obtain? I'll have to try that out sooner or later.

But the system was still not done explaining, surprisingly.

"Once the user achieves a Constitution of 1, the user unlocks the Cultivation feature, allowing the user to obtain superhuman strength, as well as a method to regain a body befitting of such strength. It depends on the user as to when they start cultivating as there is no limit as to how much Constitution is added through s.u.c.k.i.n.g blood."

Cultivation actually exists in this world. Cultivation actually f.u.c.k.i.n.g exists. The wish I had when reading those web novels, actually came true.

Either way, I had this hunch already when I saw the clothes of the young teenager this morning. Since he was wearing a robe, it was between the choice of being in ancient China, or a world where cultivation exists...which is probably ancient China as well.

But hey, with the assurance of the system, I finally have a method to take revenge on my fallen brethren! Worry not, my fallen brothers and sisters, your surviving brother Bell shall avenge you and give that boy a dose of deadly malaria!

I closed the screen regarding the system and looked at the abdomen of the carabao, which was still heaving up and down slowly after all this time.

Since s.u.c.k.i.n.g blood is the only to obtain blood, or by the words of the system, Impure Blood Energy, and it is also a way of obtaining a higher Constitution stat, then wouldn't a carabao a great first blood ban— I mean sacrific— I mean...yeah, just blood bank.

I poked my proboscis through the skin of the carabao, s.u.c.k.i.n.g up some blood one more time.

So viscous yet so mouthwatering. If I were to transform into a human eventually, I might just have to hide the fact that I enjoy the taste of blood! Well how can someone not enjoy it? It has sweetness, umami, and—

Now that I think about it, I was able to savor the taste of blood far longer than before, so it's not really that much of a bad thing. Let's see how much it costs to upgrade my stomach to level 3...hm. 2 points of Impure Blood Energy. Does every consecutive upgrade need the maximum amount of the previous level? I'll have to see when I upgrade.

And let me check...yep. It costs 3 points this time to upgrade to level 4. I'm very close to reaching storage level 5, which means I can suck more blood at once very soon. Would s.u.c.k.i.n.g more blood at once enhance the taste potential? Would it give more layers of taste to the blood?

After upgrading my stomach twice, it hasn't occurred to me that I haven't retracted my proboscis from this carabao's abdomen. Speaking of the carabao, how is that carabao faring?

I took a look at it and it seemed slightly worse off than it previously was, with its breathing becoming a tiny bit more labored than before. Not only that, its complexion is a bit more pale than it usually was. I'm sorry, carabao. You might just die from what I'm doing.
