'Sigh… I knew I wasn't good at the liberal arts that's why I didn't learn the Ancient Script except the very basic of basics… How embarrassing… I don't think I've ever felt so useles before… Except once in m past life and that was because I was a youn'un with no power so even if I had the will, I didn't have a way. Looks like I'll need to study up when we get out. Uuuhh…. And to think I had gotten out of that long, self-imposed study hell only to fall into another one. I had only come for fun!' Shen Tianyu lamented as she continued to keep watch on their surroundings.

Rong Jian flew back and forth, tapping on the symbols and Ancient Script they had found on the wall in some mysterious order that Shen Tianyu didn't know of. Thinking that it would take a while, with how many there were, Shen Tianyu found a wall with sparse symbols and sat down, leaning her back against it. Since he couldn't fly, he couldn't see Rong Jian's progress and he didn't want to disrupt the flow so Shao Wei also sat down, a little bit of distance from the Miss.

Just like more complicated puzzles, he didn't need to touch all of the symbols and Ancient Script, just specific ones that can break the formation. And it needed to be in a specific order or else who knows what might happen.

Shen Tianyu absentmindedly stared at Rong Jian, her cheek in her hands.

When he was done, Rong Jian landed on his feet next to his wife, his hands behind his back and standing straight like a soldier. All the symbols and Ancient Script, event he ones at the top of the cave that couldn't be seen from the ground, started to glow with a bluish white light, brighter and brighter as the moments ticked by.

Shen Tianyu let out a sigh and buried her head in her knees, with her hands over her head for good measure. Remembering that Rong Jian was still standing up beside her, she looked at him to find him still in that position without any protection over his eyes. She reached out from her position and tugged on the sleeve of his robe. Feeling the motion, he looked down at her and she motioned for him to sit down beside her. He obediently did as he was told and sat down. His eyes widened when she silently put one of her arms over his head, draping her sleeve on his face so his eyes were covered and returned her head to its previous position.

...

"What! Where am I now?! There's no end to this stupid thing!" An agitated voice sounded from a distance in front of them.

"That's right! What is even up with this thing! The Master of this Ascendant Monument sure has a perverted hobby!"

Shen Tianyu took her hand away from Rong Jian's head and lifted up her own. As she suspected, the voices came from the mysterious stone ring and pillars.

'It doesn't look like a shrine of any kind... is it a symbol of worship or-? Oh wait, religion isn't really a thing here.' She thought as she stood up and brushed her robe.

"Rong Jian and Shao Wei got you guys out. No need to worry anymore." Shen Tianyu walked up to them with her arms at her sides.

Some of them went on guard hearing her voice. Upon seeing her person, a portion of them relaxed while a portion still stood their ground. She raised her hand, causing some to flinch, and pointed at the still faintly glowing symbols on the visible parts of the walls. Taking a proper look around, they realized that they were inside a formation the entire time and were now no longer trapped in one. Otherwise the Ancient Script used to make the formation would not be visible to them.

The rest of them finally relaxed and started to properly take in their surroundings. Some started to walk around the place to get a better grasp of their surroundings, not that there was much to see.

Shen Tianyu just waited for them to adjust with a hand on her hip. She didn't know when he had gotten up but Rong Jian was standing beside her when she glanced next to her. He noticed her gaze and slightly turned his face, a smile on his lips. His hand that had been folded behind his back sneaked it's way beside hers and loosely clasped her hand. She didn't comment or show any reaction, her eyes leaving his figure to keep tabs on the others.

"Miss, there doesn't seem to be any way out of here. It's an enclosed space." Tianhao returned and reported to her.

Shen Tianyu bit back the urge to let out a groan. 'Another mechanism? This is seriously getting annoying. Rather than a final tomb, this place is feeling more and more like a maze.'

"Damnit! This place is getting on my nerves!" Someone pounded the rock wall in irritation.

"Idiot!" Someone shouted at the person and dragged him, still stunned, away from the rock wall.  .

Rong Jian immediately pulled Shen Tianyu into his embrace, one hand holding his sword, from who-knows-when it had been unsheathed. The others gathered in a circle with the couple at the center without much noise or communication. The elders standing closer to the two but not at the innermost part of the configuration. Despite only meeting after entering the Ascendant Monument, the Yaodu members and Rong Jian's subordinates seem to have reached a tacit agreement.

Shen Tianyu peeked at the situation from within Rong Jian's arms, one of her hands also on her sword and the other reaching into her space through her Cosmo Pouch.

The stone wall that had been trembling began to slide to the side, disappearing into the adjacent wall.
