'The most we can surmise is that he or she is mysterious but that's insignificant because that's basically the same as knowing nothing. He likes caves? But the reason this place is like this could be because most of the demonic beasts here live in places similar to caves.' Shen Tianyu wondered about what the Master of this Ascendant Monument was like as she kept looking back and forth at the rocks and rock walls and more rock walls.

"Wifey? Is something wrong with this place?" Rong Jian asked, seeing her keep glancing between the rock walls that, visibly, were no different than any other cave walls.

"Oh, no. I was just wondering what kind of person the Monument Master is like. Since this Monument really is... different from others." She replied.

"It certainly is curious. But I don't think what they're like really matters since they're already dead and all." Rong Jian responded.

"Oh? Are Masters of Ascendant Monuments always unknown? I would have thought they'd leave some mark on history considering how powerful they'd have to be to make these." Shen Tianyu commented, tilting her head in curiosity.

"Sometimes, people recognize the Ascendant Monument Masters but most of the time no. Well, most cultivators don't really care about the Master and just want his treasures or secret techniques." Rong Jian gazed at her as he kept talking, his hands holding hers.

"What do you mean recognize? Don't they have statues of themselves or something?" Shen Tianyu questioned.

"Yes but accurate history is usually written in books and usually, only nobility are able to afford books. Often, verbal history gets easily distorted. And with the coming of empires and invasions, a lot of history gets lost in fires or suppression. So, a lot of those Masters, their mark on history will probably forever remain, but not so much their names. And often times, when humans respect and idolize someone, descriptions of them get exaggerated, in all aspects." Rong Jian explained patiently.

"Huh... but no cultivators thought to find out who they were? Even though they take their treasures? That's kind of..." Shen Tianyu furrowed her brows.

'Kind of rude.' She didn't say but Rong Jian could still tell.

"Well, they are usually all in a race to get stronger and gain more fame for themselves so even if there are some obvious clues that smacked them in the face, they wouldn't notice it anyways." Rong Jian nonchalantly shrugged it off.

"Hm... I guess so." Shen Tianyu went quiet after that.

'Well, I guess part of it might be because some Masters make their Monuments too hard to get through so the cultivators are annoyed by them. Like this one. The Monument Master here is definitely annoying but I am also curious about them.' She thought, her gaze now steadily looking ahead of them.

The green tint of the fireballs made the whole place look creepy and haunted. It fit the setting of the bats, if they were still there. For some reason, the cave got darker the further they went, it wasn't as if the fireballs were dimming either.

In a part of the cave where they could bȧrėly see outside of the small circle of lights that the green fireballs provided, the ground suddenly started shaking. As if a giant earthquake was taking place or a gigantic demonic beast was moving around.

"Woah!" Shen Tianyu's free arm instinctively shot out to try to find something sturdy to grab a hold of but only swiped at empty air. Despite the darkness, the cave was big enough to accommodate five people walking side by side. They weren't hugging the wall as they went in, in case someone tripped and as the place got darker, the group gradually drifted to the center of the dirt road.

She could hear rocks falling from the ceiling and other people screaming or yelling in surprise. The first wave was already too intense to stand properly. And since she grabbed nothing, she lost her balance in the shaking and fell backwards. Thankfully, she landed on her behind, which cushioned her fall somewhat. A grunt sounded next to her.

She didn't let go of Rong Jian's hand when she tried to stabilize herself since she knew there was nothing to hold. And as soon as the shaking struck, he had tightened his hand around hers so even if she tried to fling his hand away, it was unlikely to let go. Along with the suddenness of the shaking ground and the weight of Shen Tianyu falling, Rong Jian also got pulled down as well.

"Are you okay?" Shen Tianyu asked just to make sure, yelling at the top of her lungs in order to be heard over the din of screaming, shaking, and rocks falling.

Rong Jian merely nodded his head and adjusted his position to be more comfortable, sitting in a lotus position, his hand still tightly gripping on to hers. .

Seeing that he was fine, she also made herself comfortable to wait out the shaking and pilled out an empty wooden box from her Cosmo Pouch, holding it over both their heads.

'Who'd have ever thought empty food boxes would come in handy?' Shen Tianyu commented as she swiveled her head to look at her surroundings. The other green fireballs helped her see what was the general situation of everyone.

'That one's still screaming his head off despite his ȧss already being on the ground. That girl too. And that one... Ah, those three have calmed down enough to look at their surroundings. They're still holding on to one another for dear life, though. Oh... as expected of an organization that deals with humans, the black-clothed ones are trying to stay alert and still. Ah, they remembered the drill for earthquakes. Good boys and girls, laying flat on the ground and covering their heads. Still have enough sense to keep looking around too. Oh? That one's comforting a girl that's crying... Well how nice. Hope that doesn't get him killed one day..' Shen Tianyu evaluated everyone and their situation as she looked around.
