Wild Crimson Rose: Beloved Handyman Prince’s Courtesan Wife

As the clock struck 7 in the evening, Xuan Lingwen put down the documents in her hand and kneaded the bridge of her nose. The sun had already set and the lights within the room had automatically turned on when the sunlight was dimming. The large, floor-length windows also had automatic curtains that closed when the lights turned on so the two people in the room never needed to stop working.

Xuan Lingwen let out a sigh as she got up. 

"Do you need a break?" Kurama asked worriedly. She had come immediately after her classes and worked for hours straight. 

"I promised mother that we would have dinner together tonight to celebrate our moving. You couldn't possibly have forgotten right? You were the one to recommend me the restaurant that I made a reservation at." Xuan Lingwen responded as she walked up to the door. 

Kurama called for his chauffeur and walked her out of the office building.

The black shadow that had solidified its features during the coarse of the hours gave a chilling grin and followed them out. 

...

The car was a black limousine, Xuan Lingwen thought it was flashy at first but they did give more privacy than other car models. Kurama went into the backseat along with Xuan Lingwen and had the driver go to the condo apartment that Xuan Lingwen and her mother newly moved to. Xuan Lingwen gave her mother a call to tell her that they were on the way and to stay put, they will go up to get her when they're there.

And like always, Xuan Lingwen's mother never listened to her. When they got to the condo, the older woman was already waiting on the sidewalk in her best clothes. Though her best clothes was still only a worn out shawl on top of a flower print sweater and a pair of jeans. Xuan Lingwen frowned and admonished her as she ushered her into the car, telling the driver to turn on the heater. Kurama respectfully left his seat and entered the shotgun seat at the front.

At the restaurant, they checked in and were led to a reserved, private room. Kurama and the driver went to eat downstairs in the general area since they didn't make a reservation. As a high-class restaurant that was frequented by a generous number of elites, the food served to the private rooms were naturally sumptuous and gorgeous. Xuan Lingwen's mother couldn't help her gasp as each dish was brought out. It was the happiest Xuan Lingwen had seen her be for a long time.

Nearing the end of their meal, Xuan Lingwen took a break to go to the restroom. This time, it was for real, since she already paid for the meal along with the room before. 

However, as she was nearing the Women's room, she heard a scream from within andm seconds later, a lady wearing a closely-fitting dress and gaudy jewelry ran out, panting and clawing about. Xuan Lingwen sidestepped the woman and watched her run down the hall. She raised her eyes at the sight, then stared at the entrance to the Women's room for a few seconds. She decided she needed to go so she entered the entryway to do her business. 

As soon as she saw what was on the opposite wall, she suċkėd in a breath. 

On the wall, in dripping, red text, were several words: CURSE YOU! DIE, DIE, DIE! GO TO HELL AND BE TORN TO PIECES! MAY YOUR BONES BE BROKEN INTO SMITHEREEENS! DON'T THINK I'LL LET YOU DIE SO EASILY!

On the mirrors above the sink, on the doors of the stalls, all of them were splattered with such words in still dripping red.

"Well, that's a sight." She muttered to herself under her breath. 

As soon as her words were out, she could hear a faint laughter echoing all around her. It was the sound of a man cackling. However, she couldn't pinpoint exactly where the sound was originating from. 

She decided to ignore it and go into one of the stalls. When she pushed open the door to one of the stalls, the lights began to flicker. Inside the toilet bowl was red liquid, its viscosity eerily similar to blood. The inside of the stall was in a similar state tot he outside. Xuan Lingwen furrowed her brows but didn't show any other reaction as she took some toilet paper and flushed, trying to get rid of the red liquid. However, the water that refilled the bowl was equally red and viscous, not seeming to go away. She turned around and locked the door before she threw the toilet paper in and went to get a seat cover before doing her business. She flushed once she was done but the result was still the same, the bowl was once again filled with red liquid. The whole time, the cackling voice gradually grew louder and louder and the flickering of the lights became more frequent but there was no pattern to it.

Xuan Lingwen continued to not show any reaction as she went to wash her hands and got out. As she got out of the restroom, the laughing voice abruptly cut off. On the way back to her reserved room, she looked at the bathroom out of the corner of her eyes and managed to catch a black figure standing there. But when she turned around, the figure seems to have disappeared. 

When they were leaving the restaurant, Xuan Lingwen told the others to send her mother home and she would take a taxi or something back to the company. Kurama wanted ride with her. She thought about it before refusing, saying that he should take the time to relax since he hadn't gotten a break the whole day. Thinking she wasnted some time to herself, the others let her be and left while she called for a taxi on her phone.  .

Although she didn't show any reaction, the things that happened in the restaurant's restroom was too strange, she didn't want to drag anyone else into this if there really was some kind of evil spirit following her about.

As Xuan Lingwen looked at the passing city lights, the taxi cab suddenly jerked to a stop. As she turned around to ask the driver what was wrong, she saw the driver turn to face her and the words got stuck in her throat as her eyes widened.. The driver that had looked like any other human now did not have the required features.
