"Gosh... those two are really shameless."

"Mr. Tang and Miss Wei are just good people and invited them out of courtesy."

"Still, can't they act decently? This is a party and not some cheap bar."

"Don't mind them. Even Mr. Tang and Miss Wei seem to ignore them."

"Tsk! I feel like they're tainting this formal party."

People whispered, casting disgusted glances at Zoey and Matthew Xi on the corner table. Some shook their heads and changed tables, afraid they would get infected by them. Some ignored them, but most gossiped about Zoey's tactlessness and Matthew Xi's shamelessness for being an opportunist nobody. 

"Did you hear her? According to her, you're really shameless, 'nobody'." Meanwhile, where everyone was gossiping and passing rude comments about them, Zoey giggled as she whispered one of the comments she heard. 

Matthew Xi shook his head, mildly chuckling at her report. "I did, tactless." He responded, causing Zoey to giggle even more. 

Both had had a good amount of drinks — not too much, but not too little either. It was enough for them to loosen up, not care about the world and create one for only themselves. 

Obviously, Matthew Xi had drunk a little less than usual, but Zoey obviously had consumed twice his intake. Regardless, as they drank, Zoey initiated a past-time game for them.

"Let me tell you something. You see that, Nobody?" Clearing her throat as she stopped herself from laughing, Zoey gestured to him to come closer as she was about to whisper another secret. 

As instructed, Matthew Xi leaned his head closer, expecting an interesting gossip she knew. Well, they were not that interesting for him, actually. 

What amused him was Zoey knowing a lot of personal information about them. Hence, he listened to every gossip of hers when she spotted someone who had some fascinating secret. 

"That A-list there, don't tell anyone okay?" As Zoey pointed at someone, she paused and repeated the same thing for the nth time. 

"Stop pointing your fingers at people." Matthew Xi said, putting down her finger, which was pointing in the woman's direction. 

The woman Zoey was pointing at was looking at their direction. Matthew Xi saw the woman creasing her brows as Zoey pointed at her shamelessly. 

"Don't tell, okay?"

"Mhmm,"

"Alright. Well, this is from a reliable source — I even have evidence in my precious data storage." Zoey began convincing him that her words were substantial and not just mere drunk talks. "You know the hit movie she starred that caused her break to stardom? Of course you don't — whatever." Shaking her head, Zoey realized that Matthew Xi barely knows about showbiz. 

"Haha," Matthew Xi shook his head, softly chuckling at how she asked him and also answered it. 

"First off, she wasn't supposed to have any roles in that movie. But because..." Zoey leaned even closer to him as what she was about to say was classified information. "She had a threesome with the director and producer; she got it and even received a remarkable role." Zoey's face twisted, imagining the immoral fetish of the director and the producer. 

Meanwhile, Matthew Xi glanced at Zoey in disdain. "Don't imagine it." He said, shaking his head as Zoey's reaction was akin to a person who ate a lemon. 

"Side note: some superstars really have it rough. I mean, I can't see myself doing that with a — oh my gosh, I can't." Disheartened at some point, Zoey's eyes were about to well up as if she just watched a heart wrenching drama. 

"We should avoid such gossip. It's actually unfortunate." Seeing her dramatic reaction despite gossiping about such a scandalous subject, Matthew Xi sighed as he reached for the tissue and gave it to her. 

"Another side note: her personality is so trashy thus, I can't sympathize with her." Wiping her tears, Zoey mumbled, causing his brows to twitch. 

Matthew Xi didn't know whether to cry or laugh as her thoughts were truly unpredictable. Just when he commended the woman for her determination to achieve her dreams, the sacrifices and things she has to stomach, Zoey dropped another bomb. 

"Ah, God..." Matthew Xi shook his head once again, pinching the bridge of his nose as his lips were unknowingly curled up in a smile. 

Matthew Xi had never felt this entertained in this lifetime of his. Unknowingly, he had been smiling and chuckling for the longest time, enthralled at this childish past-time she came up with. Fortunately, no one knew him in this event — Richard Sun aside. Or else, they would have the shock of their lives upon seeing him. 

"Aya, people here are all interesting don't you think, Nobody?" When Zoey wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes, she poured herself another drink. 

"Mhmm, you are." Nodding his head, Matthew Xi hummed a tune as he glanced at Zoey. 

"Hehe. Darling, I like my flirtatious darling~." Giggling, Zoey also poured him another glass of wine. Since they've been asking the waiters for drinks every five minutes, Zoey suggested that they should just give them a bottle of wine shamelessly. 

Of course, since the hosts of tonight's event were known as filthy rich and generous, Ezekiel Tang and Clara Wei could only agree and let the two do what they wanted. After all, they were not causing trouble and Richard Sun's secret reinforcement helped them greatly. 

"You'll fear what I'm capable of." He Shrugged his shoulders, he spoke up with confidence in his capabilities, comfortable with all the drinks he had drunk. 

"Proven and tested — it won't scare me anymore. I'm so ready, duh?" Rolling her eyes, Zoey chuckled as her thoughts wandered to the green side of her mind. 

Taking up the challenge, Matthew Xi slowly narrowed his eyes on the thin strap of her dress. "You do?" He dawdled, arching his brows as he hooked his finger on the thin strap. 

"What the heck?" His sudden slight yet bold gesture made Zoey jolt from her seat as she took a protective stance. 

"See? You're not... ready." Seeing her shocked reaction, Matthew Xi chuckled as he raised the glass of wine with a triumphant smile. 

Of course, the man could tease. He just couldn't bring himself to do so without the influence of alcohol. Also, Matthew Xi had been too restricted with his actions towards Zoey.. He didn't want her to see his intense side of dealing with things nor the extent he could go to pursue her.
