Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

Chapter 164 - How Was Last Night?

"Whatever, Z. You don't know the man you're dealing with..." Zion Kwan sighed, shaking his head in defeat against his stubborn sister.

Glancing up to her side profile, another sigh slipped past his lips. "Perhaps, you do," he added.

"No, I don't." Shaking her head, Zoey slowly averted her gaze towards the window. "To be honest, it's not me, but him... he doesn't know who he's dealing with... it's frightening." The corner of her lips hooked into a weak smile as a gloomy flash glinted her eyes.

"Z, what happened when you disappeared...?" Biting his lower lip, Zion Kwan tightened his hand into a fist as he asked.

The answer for this very question had been long overdue. The first time he asked her this... it gave him an overwhelming air around her that he shrugged the question off. However, they were now adults, and after a long time of contemplation, after his conversation with Matthew Xi yesterday... Zion Kwan wanted to know firsthand.

Perhaps, this time around, he was ready; ready for whatever answer he didn't want to hear back then.

"I didn't disappear..." Without averting her gaze from the window, Zoey muttered. She then gazed down at the IV drip on the back of her hand. "I just returned to my damn home..." Upon the thought of the word 'home', Zoey scoffed in mockery.

"Z..."

"And burned it down as proof of my freedom." She added, slowly returning her gaze back to Zion Kwan.

Zion Kwan, who was a little taken aback with her words remained silent. He stared back at her, pondering which words to use. "You're not serious... right?"

"Pfft—" Seeing disbelief plastered across his face, Zoey snickered. "Of course, I'm not. I'm kidding — how can a child burn down the house?" She chuckled, shaking her head as she grinned brightly.

Instead of getting annoyed, Zion Kwan heaved a sigh of relief. For a second, he sincerely believed her words as they all seemed like that they came straight from her heart.

"Z, it's not funny." He said, frowning as he shook his head.

"When I disappeared, I forgot most of everything. What I recalled is I found myself walking in the streets, charming those adults to give me money. Then when I saw a poster depicting that a wealthy family was searching for me, I had to show up." Zoey shrugged her shoulders as she leaned back and languidly stated.

"Good thing I'm smart." She added to her story which was full of plot holes.

"Anyway, when will I get discharged?" Diverting the subject, Zoey blinked her eyes as she glanced at the door where Cora Ma was peeking from. "Sis, it's okay now." She smiled, inviting her in as Cora Ma checked if it was safe to enter again.

"Later. But you have to come to the office for further check ups." Zion Kwan answered. He had already talked to the physician in charge of Zoey's condition.

Since it wasn't a serious case, the management agreed that Zoey could continue her treatment in the Kwan General Hospital. After all, the Kwan's were superior in their fields.

Good thing that they treated Zoey with high regards even without knowing she was a part of Kwan's family. Else, they must have had to face consequences.

"Alright," Nodding her head, Zoey altered her gaze from Cora Ma and Zion Kwan as a glint flashed across her eyes. "You two... how was last night?" She giggled as she flashed them a knowing look.

At that instant, Cora Ma's shoulder stiffened as the tip of Zion Kwan's ear reddened. Zion Kwan cleared his throat as he glared at Zoey. "Why does it concern you?"

"Of course it concerns me! My friend here was burning with fever yesterday! Who knows if you took advantage of her vulnerability!" Zoey retorted back, giving justice to her busybody self. Alas, she was also curious if her ship started to sail without any stupid misunderstanding.

"No, nothing like that happened." Cora Ma shook her head sideways, glancing at Zion Kwan before turning to Zoey. "But, we have to thank your help for, you know..." Cora Ma stretched her lips into an awkward smile.

After all, if not for Zoey, Cora Ma would still assume that Zion Kwan possessed romantic feelings for Zoey. It might be a little ridiculous, but they were not blood related.

Moreover, Zoey wasn't legally adopted by the Kwan's. Therefore, it might be ridiculous if Zoey and Zion Kwan got involved in a romantic relationship, but those silly thoughts would only strike those who knew their initial relationship as siblings — not to the eyes of the public.

"Jeez... no need to thank me. I don't do things for free~" Zoey chuckled, humoring her friend as she glanced at Zion Kwan. "Big bro, I heard about the new branch in S City... should I assume a new project for me?" Zoey hinted, arching her brows as new buildings needed signs and all the Z Image Group services.

"Mhmm, I'll send them to you tomorrow." Nodding his head, Zion Kwan wasn't surprised that the news reached Zoey. After all, his sister might have been very evasive in the family but she was always updated in their business.

"Alright!" Zoey clasped her hands together as her people would be more busy than they already were. "Anyway, you two should go on a date and catch up! Meanwhile, I better go rest cause my head is still aching and I don't want to see some lovey-dovey scenes today as mine turned into a headache." Changing the subject, Zoey suggested as she gazed at them alternately.

"No, we'll stay." Shaking their heads sideways, Zion Kwan and Cora Ma refused in unison.

"You hate being alone in the hospital — also, Browny said he'll come back. Until then, we'll accompany you!" Cora Ma explained in a matter-of-fact tone.

Meanwhile, Zion Kwan scoffed as he shook his head. "I'm staying but not because he asked us to." He clarified his side.

"Tsk!" Clicking her tongue in annoyance, Zoey glanced at the two as she pondered how she would send them away.

Suddenly, a bright idea flashed across her mind. "Can I have some peace? I mean not like I'm going anywhere. Also, I have to rest and by the time I wake up, I'm sure that guy will be here." Sounding rational, Zoey explained as she laid down. "Don't worry about me. I only hate hospitals at night. I need some time alone to think.." She added.
