Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

Chapter 189 - Zoey’s Masterpiece

"Just grind the sandpaper against the wall like you mean it." Zoey muttered as she scrubbed the wall with the sandpaper with all her might.

Matthew Xi constantly cast her a glance. Sweat dripped down her neck, forehead, and soaked her shirt with it.

"Like this!" Zoey showed off as she widened her range like a mad lad. "See? I'm scrubbing it so fast!" Proud, Zoey turned to him.

Just as she did, Matthew Xi looked away as he resumed on scrubbing the wall. Alas, upon seeing his lack of energy, Zoey's face distorted.

"Gosh... it'll take you a year just doing this before you can actually paint the room." Bearing a tone full of sarcasm, Zoey clicked her tongue as she shook her head lightly.

"I don't think we need to exert more effort — we're not whitewashing the walls from dark to light. It's the opposite." In a matter-of-tone, Matthew Xi might hate to tell her this but that was true.

"Tsk." Alas, her response was an annoyed click of the tongue. "Anyway, I have an idea of what this room should look like." Diverting the subject, Zoey scanned her eyes around while Matthew Xi cast her his poker face.

Somehow, Matthew Xi guessed that whatever suggestions she has would be ridiculous. Still, he wanted to hear what she wanted to say.

"Instead of a plain gray color, why don't we add some art, eh? I mean, it's been a while since I drew something and I'm actually itching to make some art. Hehe." A tone full of confidence, Zoey grinned as she placed her hands on her waist.

For a moment, Matthew Xi pondered whether she was bluffing or not. However, considering the line of her business which has many things to do in arts and designs, Matthew Xi raised his gaze as he nodded his head.

"It's your home. Let's do that." He agreed, shrugging his shoulders as he traveled his gaze.

Currently, they were not even one fourth done scrubbing the walls. Hence, he could only think that they'd use this half of the wall where they had scrubbed with sand paper.

"I know, right? Wait let me grab my pencils and stuff." Elated, Zoey clashed her dusty hands together as she skipped out of the room.

As she did so, Matthew Xi's gaze followed her until her shadow could no longer be seen. "This should be alright, I guess...?" He whispered, still a little suspicious about Zoey's plan.

Well, thinking that they could make something together, like decorating this small room with their humble talent in art, Matthew Xi perceived it as a not so bad idea. After all, he was quite confident with his knowledge in paintings as it was his hobby back then until he got bored with it.

"It should be fine..." He repeated, convincing himself that there's no need to worry.

Thirty minutes later, Matthew Xi felt his spiritual self drop his jaw at Zoey's 'masterpiece'. Indeed, she was right at her claim.

Zoey has an undeniable talent; a talent to render people speechless! Matthew Xi had been sketching a serene scenery but when he turned towards her, he just had to stop as he could not unsee it.

"Hehe, what do you think?" Chuckling as if proud at her work, Zoey sought for a compliment which caused his eyes to twitch in disbelief.

"Why are you mimicking an ancient Egyptians drawing?" Trying to get his head straight, Matthew Xi could not help but think the reason she suggested this idea was because she got an inspiration from ancient Egypt's drawings on the wall.

Not to mention, her version was way worse than stick figures. It was as if it was drawn by a toddler!

"Tsk tsk. When you decide to draw something on the wall, you always do it like how ancients do it." Staring at his sorry state, Zoey snapped her tongue in dismay. "Also, you always have to think ahead. I mean, when we will have a child, we'll make her or him use this room. In that case, she doesn't need to draw gibberish because it's already done!" She added, rolling her eyes as if this question wasn't supposed to be asked in the first place.

'God...' Speechless at her reasoning, Matthew Xi could not find the words to describe his feelings about it.

'Is this really the person who owns Z Image?' Matthew Xi wondered internally, his eyes slowly filling with disgust as he couldn't discern whether she was serious right now or not.

"Jeez... don't look at me like that. I know I'm not good at drawing, alright?! Why do you have to look at me like that as if I'm conning you." Zoey grumbled as Matthew Xi's stare made her feel restless.

"May I ask how you came up with a business if you're not inclined towards designs?" Clearing his throat, Matthew Xi inquired as this truly piqued his interest.

"Good question!" Pleased at the normal question which until now gave her the enthusiasm to answer, Zoey grinned. "When I was waiting for the bus to arrive, I found myself staring at the pedestrian crossing sign. I wondered who makes such simple looking signs, but also everyone knows what it means with just a glance." Zoey smirked, recalling how Z Image Group was founded because of her curiosity.

"Ahh..." Nodding his head in understanding, Matthew Xi glanced at her drawings.

To be fair, Zoey didn't need to be the greatest artist to start her business. Aside from the fact that the usual designs were simple and weren't that complicated.

"Who would have thought that that night will be a turning point in my life, eh?" Zoey giggled, glancing at him with excitement as she knew deep down her story was interesting.

"Mhmm..." Nodding his head, Matthew Xi hummed a tune as he shifted his gaze back to her drawings. "Are you sure about this, though?" He asked, hoping she would say she's just trolling.

"Hehe. Darling, the question is, are you sure about renovating this room? I might not let you go easily as this room will only remind me of you.." Zoey smirked, giving him a knowing look as renovating this room and cleaning it has two different meanings.
