Still singing, Zoey drew a heart shape with both her forefingers as she turned to her driver: Matthew Xi. 

"You're the one who made me see that there's a flower bloomed in the dry desert.

You're the one who made me want to write a love song every day. 

Use a romantic chorus, and sing along with me softly~" 

She continued, singing along with the song despite the person on the driver's seat kept his ugly poker face. 

Meanwhile, Matthew Xi focused his eyes on the road, constantly reminding himself that Zoey was better off being occupied singing than teasing him on the way. Still, he could not help but wonder how come Zoey has the confidence in singing with her lack of tone. 

There were talented people who were too shy to show their talents to others, yet Zoey had this oozing confidence that it makes others feel embarrassed for her! Not that he hated it, just thinking what he could say about her voice. 

"Darling, you love my singing voice that much? If so, why don't we continue dating after this deal ends? What do you say? I'll sing for you everyday!" Stopping midway of the song, Zoey grinned as she proposed like her voice was truly a hidden gem!

Alas, Matthew Xi remained silent. He already planned on continuing... but that was after his plan tonight. After all, it was not his choice if their affair should continue. 

Why? Because he was afraid Zoey might change her mind once she found out he had been lying about his identity all along. She's been through a lot and having another liar beside her... Matthew Xi was uncertain if she would be able to accept it. 

Another reason why Matthew Xi didn't want her teasing on the way. They might end up just like what she suggested, and he might take advantage of her confessions and let his emotion take over. 

It's just that Matthew Xi found it inappropriate for them to express their feelings before he told her the truth. It'll be harder and he didn't want Zoey to misunderstand that he was just telling her about the truth after he got what he wanted. 

Thanks to Vivian Xi's words earlier, his mother's honest thoughts about Zoey dating someone else that was not a Xi made Matthew Xi to make up his mind. Thinking about it, Paul Qian was actually a better candidate for Zoey. 

He's smart, kind, calm, collected, and loyal. His visuals wouldn't pale in comparison with everyone. If Matthew Xi would be honest, his assistant was the perfect example to be with her. 

Unlike him, who was unreasonable, destructive, and selfish. However, just like his personality, he's selfish to not give her up without putting up a fight. That's his heart and he wanted her all for himself, unless she didn't want him. 

"We're almost there." Matthew Xi muttered, causing Zoey to knit her brows and frowned upon seeing the seemingly desolate place ahead. 

She could see a gate ahead, not fancy but rather appeared to be a terrorist hideout. Barbwires were evident over the tall walls as there were a few soldiers guarding it. 

"Your choice of places are always romantic." Zoey spouted in sarcasm, as this kind of place was far from what she expected. 

Thanks to the disappointment she had when she thought they were going on a romantic date several weeks ago, Zoey lowered her expectations. Therefore, she wasn't that disappointed as it was already expected. 

"Why are there soldiers around, though?" She inquired as they stopped at the gate while Matthew Xi slightly rolled down the window. 

One guard checked the people inside the car before he gestured to his other comrades to let them pass. When they were granted access, Matthew Xi answered, "My friend is here." 

"K." Zoey didn't pry further as she rolled her eyes. 

Matthew Xi drove until he stopped at the open space. Zoey didn't wait for him to open the door for her as she immediately hitched outside. 

Looking around, Zoey's brows twitched as it seemed this was a military camp. There were soldiers scattered around, some groups were even taking a night jog while shouting their mantras. 

"Browny, please tell me we are not enlisting tonight just because you found this romantic." Her brows twitched, glancing at Matthew Xi in conflict. 

"No," To her relief, Matthew Xi responded as he shook his head lightly. "Come here, I'll show you something." Lending his hand towards her, Matthew Xi invited. 

Zoey glanced at his hand before she raised her gaze back towards his pair of solemn russet eyes. "Well, I think this will suffice." She murmured, slowly placing her hand in his as she didn't mind holding hands while walking. 

She didn't even care what those soldiers would say if they saw them walking while holding hands. Zoey was just easily appeased with the thought. Hence, she just anticipated what lies ahead. 

Matthew Xi guided her to the farthest right wing of the base, where there was an open space and a helicopter! 

"Woah..." Zoey's eyes twinkled, upon laying her eyes on the aero vehicle that was on 'display'. 

"Darling, don't tell you can drive that beauty just like Christian Grey? Charlie Tango, baby!" She added, imagining the scene she'd read that was adapted to a movie years ago. 

"Wait—! That's impossible..." However, Zoey immediately realized that her wild imagination was quite off. 

Just then, a slowly moving car approached, causing Zoey to narrow her eyes as the headlights beamed at them. Soon, when the car stopped, a man hitched outside from the driver's seat. 

Taking a good look at the person jogging towards them, Zoey arched her brows. The man had long hair tied in a neat man bun, which made Zoey realise he was not a soldier. 

After all, he was just wearing a casual v-neck t-shirt and simple jeans — his hair too! A soldier needed a clean cut. He stopped several steps from them, grinning as his eyes immediately landed on Zoey. 

"So, you're Zoey?" Kenneth Bai asked, scrutinizing her from head to toe. However, that second, he felt the harsh gust of wind blow from Matthew Xi. 

'Ey, brother! I didn't mean to address her by first name! I just don't know her surname!' Kenneth Bai complained internally, guessing what displeased his childhood friend. 

"Anyway, this is yours!" Clearing his throat, Kenneth Bai didn't beat around the bush as he tossed a few keys in a single key holder towards Zoey. 

Thanks to her fast reflex, Zoey caught the key holder that had a few keys in it. "Ah?" Blinking her eyes in confusion, Zoey darted her gaze from the keys in her hand to the man standing before her. 

"Mine?" She asked, knitting her brows together. 

"There's one more car that will arrive shortly, one is a key to a yacht, and the other one is for that big momma over there!" Nodding his head, Kenneth Bai informed what the keys were for before pointing at the helicopter in excitement.

"And they're all yours! Damn... I never thought I'd want to be a woman until now." Kenneth Bai sighed, staring at Zoey as he felt envious to have such luck like her. 

"Anyway, brother, I'll send the receipt to you — don't forget, you gave me your word about the island." Smacking his lips, Kenneth Bai diverted the subject as he turned to Matthew Xi. 

Matthew Xi only nodded which was enough for Kenneth Bai to grin. "Well, that's my cue to leave you two love birds alone. Enjoy the night!" Kenneth Bai alternated his gaze from Matthew Xi to Zoey as he bid his farewell. 

"Uhm..." When Kenneth Bai left them alone, Zoey slowly faced Matthew Xi. Her face screamed that she needed an explanation and enlightenment. 

"I bought them for you." Staring straight at her confused eyes, Matthew Xi inhaled deeply before he exhaled and his words followed.

"I... that fatty you mentioned, it's not me. It's not Xi Matthew... I am Xi Matthew, CEO of XI Corporation, not the normal salary man." His jaw tightened, his heart drumming inside his chest as he confessed. 

Matthew Xi didn't know the right words or waited for the right mood to admit this secret, he just didn't know what to say. Thus, instead of going around the circle, he immediately told her the truth.. Straight to the point and see the results.
